As far as boobs go, I prefer them two at a time.

This was worth repeating a second time. Very thoughtful response to the OP. I recall that Brian came on the forum a few months ago seeking input on an article he was writing, and although he would say the article that he wrote was fair and balanced, it seemed a little biased to me because of the things that were left out. I'm not in the mood to go back and be specific, but I think some of the other members here were a little disappointed too.

I have two 22/45 MKIIIs, one with a stainless target barrel and red dot scope and the other with a stainless slab-side barrel. They are great shooters and I will probably never get rid of them....they are that much fun.

Uhhh.....NOT ALWAYS! I'm not Glock guy....not because I don't like them, but they just don't fit my hands very well. Lots of good suggestions already, but take a look at the Kahr K9 (all steel) or P9 (same as K9, but polymer frame). A Sig 239 is also a nice choice. These are all single stack pistols of very high quality (and prices), but they may fit your wife's hands a little better than some of the other suggestions. The Kahrs are DAO, but I believe the Sig 239 can be found either as DAO or DA/SA.

They are definitely hard to get right now, and with all of the other new Rugers that have just been announced that are also likely to be big sellers, I don't know if Ruger will ever catch up. I guess that is a nice problem for them to have, but not so good for us. I have a S&W 1911 that I really like, but I think I would like to get one of the SR1911s and the new SR22. It will probably be Christmas before they are readily available...hmmm that may be perfect timing.

To the OP, that is a very nice MK9. I love my K9 and don't see myself ever parting with it. I almost bought an MK9 instead of the K9, but just didn't think that the MK9 was small enough for pocket carry, so I went with the slightly larger K9 instead....I have something else for pocket carry. The Kahr trigger is different...and I guess you either love it or hate it. Since I like the feel of my smooth S&W DA triggers, I also like the Kahr trigger action.

I may have to add one of these to my wish list, and since this won't be a defensive weapon, the goofy safety doesn't bother me that much. I do wish they'd make an LCP-22....but I like the DA/SA features of the SR-22 (that's why I DID have a P22 on my wish list ).

I was wondering if anyone was going to ever mention the S&W 1911s. Yes, the traditionalists will balk at the external extractor, but S&W makes good stuff and a very nice 1911. I love mine. You may want to take a look at the new Ruger SR1911 too.

I have a K9 Black and absolutely love that pistol. Admittedly, the trigger takes some getting used to, but once you do it is awesome...and I have never had a single hiccup with it no matter what ammo I feed it.

Congrats on your "new" revolver.....looks just like the one I've had for almost 30 years....and the good Lord willing, I'll still have it 30 years from now.

I saw that special on J&G also, but had just bought one from Aim Surplus a month ago when they had the better pricing. I thought about getting a second one at the J&G sale price, but couldn't justify having two. Congrats on a great purchase!

Two very nice pistols. I picked up a P1 recently, but would like to add a nice P38 for a reasonable price one of these days.

Why don't you just print a new one out from their website and use that. You obviously have access to the internet. That is what I did and I got my license 22 days after submission. Here's the link. http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5310-16.pdf

I think I may just have to get a Seecamp. Did you paint the grips or are they custom? I haven't seen one with the grip extender on the magazine either...is that from Seecamp or somewhere else? Nice gun!

The Phoenix HP22 is a nice looking gun and I think I will get one at some point. However, from what I have read on several other forums from actual owners is that the factory doesn't recommend high velocity ammunition. A number of owners have had frame cracking probems after a lot of high velocity rounds have been fired through it. In other words, it is not going to hold up like a Ruger Mark I, II, or III or a Browning Buckmark, etc., but then again it costs substantually less than any of those pistols and is a lot smaller. Having said that, if you are only going to shoot a few hunred rounds through it a couple of times a year, it will probably do fine. I have a Jimenez JA-22 and have not had any problems with it, but I have a lot of different .22LR pistols so no single one gets excessive use.

Got mine in the mail today.......22 days after mailing. That is a pretty fast turn around. I guess I better lock up my wallet now before I get myself into trouble!
-
The mail must be slower in my neck of the woods. I haven't received mine yet. Hopefully I'll get a surprise in the mail in the next few days.

I think this new video from Nutnfancy pretty much says it all. Hi-Point Pistols: "I Wish I Could Hate This" by Nutnfancy - YouTube

LMAO! Hi-Points are kinda ugly...like Glocks, but in a different sort of way. I like Hi-Points because you get a lot for the money. I have many other much higher quality, more expensive guns that are designed for longer life; are better handling, better looking, etc., but Hi-Points go bang as reliably as most other much more expensive guns. I wouldn't ever use one as CCW, but they are a good range gun (very accurate) and a good home defense gun.

+1 on that. For the money, they can't be beat.
-
They charged my card today too. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a quick response.

pcrc11, thanks for posting those websites. I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time there.

I sent my C&R application in a few days ago too. Now I just wait to see how long the bureaucrats will take. I hope they don't take too long though....I need it to be able to do my part to help this slow economy.

I recommended the MKIII 22/45 above since I have one, but since revolvers are now under consideration, I concur with the Heritage recommendation...have one of those too! I think you might have a hard time finding a Single-Six used within your budget, and obviously new is much more. Another used revolver option to consider is one of the High Standard revolvers (Sentinel and Double-Nine are two models). They are single/double action with nine round cylinders. You should be able to get one between $200 to $300. A different option would be the Phoenix HP22A Rangemaster Kit. You get a 3" and 5" barrel in a semi-automatic pistol and other goodies in a nice storage case. You should be able to find the entire kit for less than $250. They have a pretty good reputation as long as you stay away from extreme high velocity ammo. I plan on getting one of these when I can find one in my area.

+1 on the Ruger MK III. For a little more you can get the 22/45 version and almost feel like you're shooting a 1911 (minus a wee bit of recoil)
