I sincerely hope they leave. Quite frankly, I also don't understand why some of the gun manufacturers don't slowly remove themselves from some of the New England states. They couldn't do it all at once because of the experienced work force they have up there, but they could train a new work force in friendlier areas such as TN over time.

AIM Surplus has 7.62x54R ammo for $79.95 per 440 round can in stock again. They sold out in a couple of days a week or so ago, so I don't know how long this supply will last. They have 615 cans in stock as of this posting.

My dream 10/22 (target version) just about complete.

Those are two gorgeous rifles! ...probably shoot pretty good too. ;) -
+1 on the Colt LE6920 at $1100. That's normal pricing!

That it is a serious set of optics on that rifle! :stunned:

Wow and all the ammo is gone too! :stunned:

335 left now. :stunned:

I ordered two Mosins the last time they had them and they didn't last long. It looks like the price has gone up again by $10, but AIM still has the best prices. I wish they'd get some hex receiver Mosins in stock again, but that may never happen. The M44s didn't last long the last time either, and the prices keep going up...glad I got one when I did. I did order another case of 7.62x54R since that didn't last long the last time and the price is up $10 per can...still cheaper than other places though. I say get-em before the prices go up again. :)

That is an awesome pistol!

CTD is anything but "cheaper than dirt" and I don't do any business with them any more. Their prices aren't cheap and they are one of the most unethical businesses that I have ever dealt with.

Closing Gunshow Loopholes/Private Sales [Poll Within]
LCPfraTN replied to xRUSTYx's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
First, I can't believe someone on a gun forum is using the term " gunshow loophole." We all know there is no such thing, just the media's misinterpretation of the private sales that go on around gunshows since that is where a lot of interested buyers and private sellers gather. I also don't believe the the 40% number that the media keeps spitting out is accurate either, especially when they say it includes sales through the internet. We all know that sales through the internet have the same FFL transfer requirements that any other sale requires. In fact, I would venture to say that internet sales are more likely to go through an FFL than any other form of private transfer. So, when the media regurgitates the anti-gun group propaganda it makes me doubt the validity of the information even more. I really cannot support changes to private sales since criminals won't abide by the law anyway...it will just make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to transfer a gun. If a system could be developed where you could voluntarily have a background check done on an unfamiliar buyer or determine whether or not a firearm has been stolen, I could possibly support that. In the alternative, If carry permit holders or C&R license holders were allowed to bypass any background checks on gun purchases and trades, I might be more willing to consider requirements for background checks on other transfers. I'd still have some issues with requiring checks for family gifts/trades and similar transfers, but perhaps that could be exempted too. Above all else though is that registration of our guns is an absolute deal breaker. -
Here's a pretty good response to my email message from Congressman Fincher: Thank you for contacting me regarding gun laws and the horrible tragedy that took place on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut. I appreciate hearing from you. The atrocious shooting of innocent children and teachers is too tragic to put into words. As a father and a Christian, my heart and prayers are with each of these families and the community of Newtown. Let me be clear, we must address the issues that are causing these violent acts. Until we are able to sit down and have an open and honest debate about the causes of violence, we will continue to witness vicious acts in our country. Blaming symptoms instead of the virus is not the way to find a cure. Violence in our society occurs for a number of complex reasons ranging from mental illness, the glorification of violence in Hollywood, violent video games such as Grand Theft Auto that encourage players to randomly beat and murder, the breakdown of families and faith in our culture, a media filled with divisiveness, as well as the desensitizing of society. What we do know is there is one common thread that connects the shootings in Arizona last year, the shootings in Colorado this year, and the shooting in Newtown and that is mental illness. All of these murders were committed by disturbed individuals who did not receive proper treatment. We have to reexamine how our communities are dealing with people who are mentally ill to ensure they are treated properly and with compassion. There are not always simple answers to complex issues, but by working together to find a solution, instead of politicizing a national tragedy for political gain, we can strengthen our country and make our schools and neighborhoods safer. As a member of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, I believe sportsmen, gun enthusiasts and citizens concerned for their personal safety should be able to exercise their rights to own a gun. Again, thank you for contacting me. If there is ever anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to contact me at anytime. Sincerely, Stephen L. Fincher Member of Congress

I would suspect that prices have become inflated some at L&A Firearms merely due to the increases that manufacturers and distributors are passing along, and because the next purchase of inventory will cost more than the last.

Add another tennessean anti gun opinion piece
LCPfraTN replied to 1pointofview's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That actually happened in Memphis around 10 or 12 years ago...wasn't some crazy person, but a senior citizen that probably shouldn't have been driving that slammed on the acclerator instead of the brake and ran over a bunch of kids at an elementary school. -
I've actually had good luck with my S&W 22A. I still prefer my Rugers, but the 22A has been a good gun for me without any problems. The only complaint I have about the 22A is the ergonomics of the grip. Otherwise, it's a lightweight, accurate pistol that is easy to shoot. Obviously others have had issues, but I think there are a few lemons amongst all gun models.

You just need to go ahead and order a conversion barrel even if it is on back-order and then expect it to take a LOT longer than they indicate. I ordered a Lone Wolf conversion barrel for my G23 in early June when they said they were backordered until the end of June...after pushing the backorder date about five times they finally sent it to me in November. :waiting:

The original trigger springs and severe recoil due to the blowback design are also limitations according to some. I like mine...very accurate in single action mode, and also very reliable, but the recoil is a bit brutal. I doubt that the prices are going to come down, but that is just my opinion. Good luck in your search.

One of the main reasons that I always wanted an AR-15 and finally got one was for nostalgic reasons, I'm sure many guys out there remember the weapons they were issued in the military and long to have a civilian version of their own. I was issued an M-16, a 1911, an S&W model 10 and an S&W model 60 during my time in the Marine Corps, and as the years passed I found myself wanting to own at least one of each them. Well, many years later, I do own at least one of each of them. I enjoy shooting them all even though I don't shoot some of them very often. I suspect my reasons for owning an AR-15 rifle are shared by many others and is another reason why a lot of AR-15 style rifles are sold today.

They are just trying to do damage control, but it won't help them get my business.
-
I don't buy guns from Dick's or Walmart anyway since they won't carry handguns. The fact that they do sell handgun ammunition just makes them look like hypocrites in my book.
-
I haven't bought anything from CTD since they wouldn't honor their price on an online order I made, but honored the price on orders from friends of mine that submitted their orders after I told them about the deal. I hope they flop big with this latest stunt.
