  1. I see where PayPal paid for my renewal on 6/22/13, but my status does not indicate Benefactor status anymore. I haven't had a chance to follow up until now since I've been on vacation for several weeks. This may help: PayPal Unique Transaction ID # 0VE86883JT6067504.
  2. Who gives a rat's a$$ what CTD has for sale! I don't do business with that company. :puke:
  3. I keep a signed copy in pdf format on my iphone and computer so I can send it to anyone that accepts an electronic copy...which most do (except the old dinosaurs).
  4. I'd probably get the hex at that price, especially since you can pick which one you want. The last one I bought through AIM, which was not a hand pick, cost me a total of $163 including shipping and it only included the bayonet.
  5. The pistol that fits my hand the best is my Kahr K9. Took a bit to get used to the trigger, but I really like it now. For a revolver, I'd just have to say almost any of my S&W revolvers...but the old model 64 with pachmayr grips probably gets shot the most 'cause it just feels good in my hands.
  6. Are you sure you didn't have to clean anything else up after that happened...like something in your pants? ;)
  7. The Mosin that austin7.62 has for sale is an M44, which is a more expensive carbine variant of the Mosin model 91/30 that is the topic of the OP and this thread. His price for the M44 is a good current market price.
  8. Thanks for sharing the WWII pic...learning something new again today. I had orders to Marine Corps Sniper School when I was in the Corps, but broke my leg right before I was supposed to report to the school and never got another opportunity. I ended up with orders to Marine Security Guard School about 6 months later and spent the rest of my time in the Corps on Embassy Duty.
  9. I did not know that about that old sniper scope...learn something new everyday.
  10.   I think you mean "for those with a LOT more scratch budgeted, S&W Model 41's are very exceptional target .22LR semi-auto pistols." I haven't seen one for less than a grand in a long time...and that is used.
  11.
  12. That's some very nice crapola......I wouldn't expect anything less from you.
  13. I think I may have done more than that...    That is a beautiful rifle...very well done.
  14. I'd go with the Ruger 22/45...maybe one like this. :D I've heard that a lot of the 1911 style .22LR pistols can be ammo picky. The Ruger MKIII 22/45 will shoot anything.
  15. My first handgun was a Smith & Wesson model 66-2 that I bought new when I was in my mid-twenties. I still own it and plan on passing it on to my son someday. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the importance of keeping the old cardboard boxes that they came in back then, so I no longer have it, but I still have the tools and manual that came with it. I also bought a little Titan .25 acp pistol shortly after buying the model 66 thinking that my wife could learn to shoot with it. Well, long story short...she shot it once and the slide bit her and she hasn't shot a gun since. I still own it, and she is starting to come around to consider shooting a gun again, but it won't be with the little Titan. ;)
  16. I use the Folgers plastic containers to store different brass cases for reloading.
  17.   That site doesn't indicate the source of their net worth, how it was determined or whether the site developer just pulled numbers out of his a**. I would imagine that a significant portion of that net worth is the value of their land given that it is right on the river and very close to Homer as you indicated. Have you priced property near Homer on water lately? It ain't cheap. Regardless of how much "money" they may have, it is clear that they try to live a frugal lifestyle and live off of the the land as much as possible.
  18. Not to the heterosexual male that has to be his bunk-mate or tent-mate at camp.   Listen, I have no problems working, playing or socializing with gays or lesbians. I even have gay and lesbian friends and think they should have the same rights as anyone else, but private groups should also have rights to exclude based on certain issues and this is one of them. The reason is that there are just certain situations where it just becomes uncomfortable for heterosexuals. The same can be said for the situation with women in certain combat units...there will be situations that cause men and women both to be uncomfortable or to do or not do things that they would not do or would do around just other men or other women in combat situations. Let's just face it, sex is a very private and sensitive issue for most people and homosexuals in the Boy Scouts flies in the face of those sensitivities and many church doctrines. :hiding:
  19. Since they can't use USPS, they are stuck with UPS or FedEx ground, which has a certain minimum cost for ammo shipments. That's why I only buy ammo online when I can buy in bulk to spread the shipping costs. I don't think any other online vendor's shipping prices for ammo are much different and most vendors have limits on ammo, so the best thing to do is not buy any ammo online until the craziness subsides...or accept that your going to get hosed on shipping.
  20. JAB that is a hilarious story! You are quite the story teller. Also, I do believe that is a garter snake.
  21. I really love this show. It's more like a documentary of these peoples lives rather than a "reality show."
  22. Congrats on a couple of very nice looking guns!
