  1. Costa does this sort of thing. If he still holds training classes. He may just be doing public appearances (Japanese runways) and endorsements these days, hard to keep up with what he does.
  2. Praying for you Doug. If the doctors and nurses take as good care of you as you do your dogs, you’ll be just fine.
  3. Not sure but @dralarms might know something pertaining to this Sorry I can’t help with your situation, but I wish you the best of luck. I don’t have children but I can’t imagine the frustration it is causing you.
  4. Hornady is all I have heard of as well for 5.45. Thing is if there is no more imported ammo, there will be a high demand and therefore more companies will start making it, whether it’s domestic manufacture or from one of our ally countries. You won’t be shooting 7.62 for the same price as .22lr, but it won’t be as expensive as current US brass case is
  5. It’s just a REAL good thing we haven’t had any precipitation when it’s this cold. The whole state would have lost their minds.
  6. I don’t support any restrictions in relation to firearms, BUT You are shooting communist ammo through communist guns. Since when is it OK to do business with and financially support our countries arch enemy since we became a country ourselves? We have American made AKs (not as good as Eastern Bloc but that’s why we have ARs) and domestic manufacture 5.45x39 and 7.62x39 ammo. More expensive, yes. But quality usually is. Anyone that pays attention to politics wasn’t blindsided by this.
  7. Remington would probably be better off just turning in the remaining stock at the next gun buy back and get some gift cards for their trouble.
  8. This is the only reason I go to brick and mortar stores anymore, is for something I need right now, which includes perishable groceries.
  9. I have pretty large hands and I have no problems whatsoever either. I was referring to military inventory for holsters. The G19 has a NSN. They don’t use the G17 AFAIK. Or maybe it’s just so Glock has something to show off for SHOT show. Who knows.
  10. Considering the G19 is used by MARSOC/DEVGRU/SF, maybe some of those big guys wanted a full sized grip but the shorter slide for suppressor use and/or holster commonality ? I’m really grasping at straws here though.
  11. I’m still waiting on my .357 Magnum Glock they promised me when I took my HCP course.
  12. Longer sight radius. Technically slightly higher muzzle velocity but that’s not enough to matter. However more and more people are coming around to MRDS mounted on pistols and that negates sight radius issue. As much as I see of people carrying a G19 with a Surefire X300 mounted, a 17 length slide wouldn’t be sacrificing anything at all
  13. Honestly, I have tried to figure out what could possibly be done in small arms development that hasn’t been done yet since all we see at SHOT show every year is more polymer striker 9s and ARs. Only thing I can think of is incorporating technology into it and I don’t think the market is ready for it quite yet. Caseless ammo or magnetic propulsion is still a ways off.
  14. I get that it’s a military model, but on the civilian side, I think theyd be much better off going the other way with a 17 slide on a 19 frame.
  15. Don’t misunderstand me. Sure Ruger had some innovation far back but not that much TBH. I don’t own a 1911 and it isn’t innovative now but it sure was back in the day. Now the Glock Gen 5, now that’s innovative!
  16. We gained standard capacity magazines and lost “innovation”.
  17. From what I’ve read lately on “junk silver” ( pre 1965 dimes, quarters, half dollars), is that it is a really good buy. Seems it was in very high demand around Y2K. Still is in moderate demand due to they only made so many, albeit ALOT, and more and more is melted down every year for industrial/commercial uses. I also believe the smaller denominations will be best for trading in bad times. Another thing to think about regarding the value of silver. Using milk for reference. In 2017, a gallon of milk cost $3.31. A silver quarter is worth $3.06 and a silver dime is worth $1.22 for a total of $4.28. 20 years ago in 1997, a gallon of milk cost $2.67. A silver quarter was worth $2.15 and a dime worth $0.45 for a total of $2.60. I would have used gasoline but it’s value isn’t keeping pace with inflation and would be an inaccurate comparison. The value of silver outpaces inflation. If you put a $5 bill and a silver quarter and dime in your safe right now, in 20 years, the silver will buy you a gallon of milk, the paper bill won’t. I won’t go as far as to say that silver or any precious metal is a good investment but it is a very good way IMO, to store wealth, physically, so that it has the same or more economic value in the future. 18. Everything you need, nothing you don’t. Very nice!
  19. I think Ruger tries to make it as cheap as they can and it still be functional. Design and aesthetics be damned.
  20. I saw the RP9s somewhere else for 169 after rebate. I wouldn’t buy anything new from Remington these days.
  21. How do you feel about the side opening automatics? Buck makes at least one model with a push button auto mechanism. I second the small fixed blade idea as well. The Izula would be perfect if a fixed blade would work for you.
  22. Don't think so. Hydroshock's have been around some time and HST's are the renamed/marketed Black Talon's iirc. As said, Black Talons were Winchester. The Ranger SXT is a rebranded Black Talon without the Teflon coating. And still one of the top performing JHPs on the market. That’s how advanced Black Talons were for their time. Yes Hydrashocks have been around for a long time, the new HST is the “next gen” version of them.
  23. FWIW, Federal HSTs are the new updated version of Hydrashocks. HST and Speer Gold Dot are some of the best defensive pistol ammo available and well established and tested by LE. I favor HST personally
  24. How old are the mags? Same issue with a new magazine? Depending on the style of the bullet, the shape of the bullet combined with a slightly weakened magazine spring could cause it. I’d try a new magazine, I’ve always had best luck with Wilson’s. Maybe switch to a different defensive ammo.
  25. KelTec hasn’t even hit 4 digit serial numbers for the PMR30 yet. I doubt they actually sold enough to be #5
