  1. They had a ruger ac556, ak74 in 556, kriss, ump40, uzi, mac10, i think thats it for MGs. Me and a few buddies went and rented the ak and kriss, so i know they have those. Johnnyrotten, what did you transfer? I would think they would want post samples?
  2. I have heard of using 40-55gr bullets in the 5.7 for subsonic use but you still gotta watch your OAL if using in a magazine. Probably gonna have to seat the bullets real deep if so.
  3. Nashville Armory has several, no G18 though. On Target in Murfreesboro has some full autos to rent also, not sure what though.

    Ruger LCR 9mm

Re: the pressure issue, after looking it up, 9mm+p has higher pressure than any other handgun cartridge, aside from the super magnums (.454casull and up). Including .357mag and .44 mag. Does anybody have a definitive answer as to why the 9mm J-frames were discontinued? Did it not sell well or were there problems?

    Ruger LCR 9mm

Any 38 or 357 can be modified to take moon clips, some Performance Center S&W's come like that. I can kinda see the caliber consolidation but not really a factor to me. Maybe more of a factor to LE depts, etc. Able to issue single ammo for duty sidearms and backup. Im also betting that if you compare the two, (.38spl+P and 9mm+P) with similar weight bullets both out of a revolver with a 2" barrel, that velocity will be very close.
  6. I would imagine its similar to how S&W amd others did their guns. Some guns that old were made before they had model numbers, such as a S&W pre-29 .44 Magnum. When you went to buy or order one, you just said, a S&W .44 magnum, because they only made one kind, then later, companies gave their guns model numbers or names. But that is just a guess
  7. Its whatever sounds more badazz at the time, it morphs calibers lol
  8. Wonder why they used a Beretta Neos for a handgrip?
  9. Quick! Go buy all the Glocks now! Before they go out of business! Oh no's!
  10. Its a spider, therefore bad. Thats as specific as we need to get.
  11. Yeah, Im really liking the new Barnes TAC-XPD ammo.
  12. It may not be close enough for you, but im fairly certain that Anthony's Armory in Red Bank will have some, its a small shop but he usually has a decent selection of powder.
  13. Springfield or Colt Or a custom if your spending alot
  14. She doesn't need to be ablr to shoot, video editing is a wonderful thing ;)
  15. My exact thoughts. Hickok45 will have to be near the top if not #1 as good and experienced as he is at shooting pistols at long range
  16. I only worked on a job there for a couple months and commuted but remember it is a college town, seemed like a nice place though.
  17. .338federal There is a company making an upper for the ar10 in 450marlin, should be big enough, only 5 rd mags though i think. .358win Also this if you reload, http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/05/08/introducing-45-raptor-cartridge-ar-10/
  18. Has to use a TGO AR to do the deed too.
  19. Analogy works. In ballistics, the 9mm has additional velocity and smaller lighter bullets, whereas the 45 has a larger heavier bullet and lower velocity. Same goes for cars, if you pump 15psi (technically 14.7psi) you are effectively doubling the atmospheric pressure and thereby effectively doubling the displacement of the engine. Now i believe those smaller tuner cars like the evo and sti are pumping around 30psi into a 2.0l engine, approximately, when tuned. Effectively making them equivalent to a 6.0l engine. Now if you apply that to real world, then a tuned evo should be equivalent to a tuned gto( no longer made) with its 6.0l v8. And id wager they would be very close
  20. It may work for them, just not for me. A good analogy IMO, is that you may get similar results by having a turbo v6, which is smaller and lighter and possibly more fuel efficient than a v8 but its never going to be as powerful or more powerful than a comparable v8. 9mm has its place, just not in my holster.
  21. Bigger bullets or high velocity perform better. Period. It has been known forever that 2 calibers stand tall against the others in effectiveness. .45acp and .357mag If you want to compare a .45fmj vs. a 9mm jhp, yeah it's probably pretty close, but If you put say a Speer Gold Dot in both of them, the .45 will win every time. If you want to say that a 9mm will probably get the job done and its easier to shoot fast and comes in a smaller package for a certain round count. Ill agree with that, but you will never make me believe that bigger isnt better, given the same bullet. .45acp is better, period. Whether or not it's advantages outweigh its disadvantages depends on the task at hand. Im plenty proficient with my .45 to feel comfortable with it over a 9mm
  22. I had no idea this was the same guy, guess i need to pay attention to screennames more often
  23. Sounds about right coming from the Federal Bureau of Incompetence.
