  1. Does anybody know where to order a Magpul iPhone 6 case? They aren't available direct from Magpul and I can't find a vendor that has them in stock from a Google search. Thanks
  2. I have never served either but I also come from a family of military servicemen/women. I have been asked on several occasions if I was in the military, most times to give me a discount. I always decline as I have never served. I have also had servicemen ask what unit I was in and once he asked what my MOS was. At the time I had no clue what an MOS was and I was dumbfounded, once he explained it, I told him I'd never served. Guess I just have that look. Point is, there is no reason to take something you didnt earn. Those discounts are to honor our servicemen that protect our way of life by risking their own.
  3. I have shot around 100rds through a .45acp pistol without hearing protection once. I still cannot hear good. Volume is mostly ok now but certain frequencies are very hard to hear. A hearing test says Im average but its noticeably harder to hear than before. Now, i didn't shoot an AR either and those are much louder and have a sharper report than a .45 pistol.
  4. Wingmaster and Police versions are all metal Magnum means it takes up to 3" shells Super Magnum means it takes up to 3 1/2" shells Tactical is just a dressed up Express model. The Express is an economy version, comparable to a Mossberg 500. The Police is more comparable to the Mossberg 590. If you dont mind spending the money, get a Police Magnum for tactical/defense use or a Wingmaster for hunting.
  5. Yep, just mention carrying a .44mag as a self defense gun amd most people think you're crazy. Call me crazy but I want a 3" 629 to carry. I had never shot a .44mag buy always liked guns with authority. Shot a buddies Blackhawk .44 amd I love it.
  6. Depending on how big the bonus is, a nice Colt Python, an old vintage S&W N-frame, either a 27 or 29, or a really nice 1911.
  7. First thing that comes to my mind is NFA AOW. Is this not substantially similar to the wallet holsters that magically make a normal gun an AOW?
  8. The large frame 29/30 is different. They got rails and finger grooves for the Gen 3. Gen 2 had neither and the Gen 2.5 had finger grooves amd no rail. In .45acp the 36 is the true subcompact, the 29/30 is more like a compact
  9. Had a guy on Facebook try to say the Browning BAR was Browning Assault Rifle, instead of Browning Automatic Rifle. Facepalm.
  10. Amen. Regardless of how you look otherwise, your hands will tell the true story if you actually work with your hands or not. A beard just validates that fact even more lol
  11. Grip Zone sounds like something Chris Costa came up with.
  12. One of the things on the M&P i cant stand are the fish scale looking slide serrations. Why could S&W not use normal slide serrations like everyone else. On topic though, the Springfield is umm not very pretty lol. I bet they get TONS of flack about the "grip zone". They should focus on fixing what everyone complains about on them, high bore axis and grip safety.
  13. While I fully support law enforcement and them doing right, I hate overstepping and abuse of power. That said, as much as some people would like to think so, a pet, specifically a dog in this case is a posession not a person. And in TN, the law does not allow the use of lethal force to protect our property. Would it be different if it were a robotic mobile turret in your backyard and the police immobilized it by whatever means they had at hand if necessary? Remember dogs are territorial and dont understand lae like humans, they dont see a badge, just someone who doesnt belong so they attack. Sometimes LE need to remain quiet and they utilize whatever means necessary, to them its no different than destroying a speaker.
  14. I carry weakside front pocket. Many times i carry the pocket gun as a back up and prefer it on weakside incase my strong hand is injured. That and i keep my keys amd knife in my right front pocket and have nothing in the pocket with the gun. I dont have a pocket holster but i need one to help keep it oriented correctly. Ive been looking at the Galco pocket protector
  15. One big reason that I and many other 1911 guys dont like Sigs and Smith and Wesson for that matter, 1911s is they both use an external extractor. Most dont like it, including me. Also some Sig models have a more squared off slide profile which doesnt fit alot of standard 1911 holsters.
  16. Id be interested in what gear to keep on hand. Maybe I could use it, maybe not, but im betting I could find someone who could use it if needed. Obviously I would try to get training but if not...
  17. If it is a true serious SHTF or TEOTWAWKI, and the situation arises that im stuck in traffic, im either driving the shoulder or going offroad to get away from the mess or im going to start pushing vehicles out of my way on my own. You should have several ways to get home but rules and laws be damned if it truly hits the fan.
  18. Then there is also the saying Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.
  19. Im holding onto .22 purely for hunting purposes, its not worth training with anymore and when i finally get a reloading setup, i dont really see much need in it. Definitely not enough to deal with the scalpers
  20. Im just guessing here but I would think the 41 sticker would be an inspection sticker and the 010 markings would be to make sure certain parts stayed together throughout the manufacturing and assembly process. Again that is just a guess.
