  1. What do you want to do with it? Sounds like a hunting gun rather than a tactical gun? My buddy had a Versa Max that was excellent
  2. I'm assuming this is a 1500 and not a 2500/3500 with the 8.1l 496 big block. Or a v6. If it is a small block v8 it should have more pressure than that, but that's with 10w30 oil no additives. Is your oil level good? Most likely the sending unit. Has the gauge cluster ever been replaced? There was a recall on the servo motors in them to cause some of the gauges to not read correctly.
  3. I have heard that the ammunition using lead free primers, such as Winchester WinClean, etc will become extremely unreliable and the primers will go bad after 1-2years. I have not tested it but that stuff isn't really widely available at least where I am. I believe it's primarily an indoor training ammunition that would be used up quickly. Plus the lead free primer ammo was higher prices where I was.
  4. If you believe you can simply point a shotgun in the general direction of something and hit it, you have never been bird hunting, I can guarantee you that.
  5. I always pulled the whole TB off and cleaned it on the bench and scrubbed as far as I could into the intake manifold. Of course if you read any shop manual now, it tells you to disconnect the battery before changing an air filter... The ones I've dealt with, it felt like a teflon coating of some sort. Couldn't hurt. The throttle body cleaner is quite a bit more expensive than carb cleaner though
  6. Now if they would just offer a package that included FX, AMC, etc
  7. Do NOT use carb cleaner! You must use throttle body cleaner! GM puts a coating on the inside of the throttle body so that carbon doesn't stick as bad. Carb cleaner will just eat through the coating. I did this on my step moms Tahoe with a 5.3. The throttle was sticking closed really bad, and it turns out it was just a really gummed up throttle body, tried carb cleaner but it started to eat through the non stick coating, used throttle body cleaner and it was ok. I have a 02 z71 with the 4.8 which is the same motor but with a short stroke crank. The 4.8/5.3/5.7/6.0 otherwise known as LSx motors will run forever without needing much. I had over 260k in my last truck before it finally blew the trans which is the weak link on these trucks.
  8. Somebody mentioned the Randall knives, I'd never heard of them before, so I googled them. Those are some beautiful knives! Beautiful revolvers as well, very classy
  9. I voted nice to have only because it's what fit best. For me it depends on the gun. If it's a pocket gun or something I'm going to carry IWB, I don't want a rail, it's just in the way and I'll never use it. Or if I'm buying that gun based on its looks or in its original form it didn't have a rail, such as some 1911s. But, if it's going to be carried OWB or have a potential "tactical"use, it needs a rail. Some guns look better without a rail and some look better with one, like I said, it all depends on that specific gun and it's intended purpose.
  10. I always thought the main reason was excessive cost of manufacture. I sure have learned a lot about them in this thread!
  11. I just bought a 02 GMC Sierra z71 4x4 ext can. Paid around 12k for it with 140k miles on it. It's hard to find low mileage trucks period anymore, everyone drives the snot out of their vehicles, not to mention they don't care for them either. However, it seems the newer vehicles do last longer than they used to so higher miles isn't as bad as it used to be
  12. That's a heck of a lot better than the only other alternative I have come up with yet, which is a company out of Germany, literally on the other side of the world lol
  13. I was looking at the standard version which has G10 scales, not the Lightweight version with FRN scales. The more I think about it, the more I want some nice wood handles for it. This is just for a backup blade on the keychain. I have a Mini griptilian I clip carry now, and I'm looking at getting some sort of larger ZT knife to replace it with. The mini grip is just a bit too big for the keychain. I may just get the G10 model until I can find some nicer grips for it but I'd rather have some thing that looks nicer than the G10 and is also a custom touch. The Manbug also has a VG-10 blade.
  14. Can anyone on here make some custom grips for a production knife? A Spyderco Manbug, in particular? I know it's a very small knife and would be tedious to work with. Or know anybody or a company that does? I'm looking to buy one to put on my keychain but I do not care for any of the grips available at all. Titanium would be highly preferred but would also take aluminum or stainless steel. I also would not turn down some nice wood panels if possible to make them for this small of a knife. Thanks
  15. I wear glasses. I'm saving up to get LASIK surgery. I find it unnatural for a man to poke himself in the eye on a regular basis in order to be able to see better.
  16. Is this the same place that used to be called Smyrna ammo and more? I saw that place but never stopped in, figured they didn't have a FFL for whatever reason
  17. Bring back the Cougars!
  18. The suspension is different on a 3/4 ton but the frame is the big one that can't be changed on 1/2ton. I'd recommend a 3/4ton. The 2500 has either a 6.0 or 6.2 they do burn more fuel but not too bad. Won't be a whole lot of difference if both trucks are setup the same, gears, 4x4, same trans etc. Thing is, most 1/2tons are setup for economy whereas most 3/4tons are setup for work. A 3/4ton will be a tougher truck also. If you do go with a 1/2 ton upgraded, get air bag helpers in the rear.
  19. I saw where a couple people had received them. I ordered a OD green one, we'll see if it's the right one when it arrives.
  20. Probably a Surefire SOCOM Mini can http://www.surefire.com/socom556-mini.html
  21. Magpul's site says see retailer right now. Runco, that link only has one listing for a Magpul brand case for a iPhone 6 and its OD. I really wanted black but ordered an OD one from there until I can find a black one in stock somewhere. Thanks for the help though! Still looking for a black one.
  22. Does anybody know where to order a Magpul iPhone 6 case? They aren't available direct from Magpul and I can't find a vendor that has them in stock from a Google search. Thanks
