  1. I second the notion of some reloading/casting how to's. I think this is a great idea.
  2. Smokey and the Bandit 1 if they did it right
  3. Depending on how they stacked, a p227 mag might be able to fit 15 rounds in it
  4. I had to look it up as well. The world would do well to somehow be reverted back to the late 1800s
  5. Seemed like the thing at SHOT show this year was several different vendors offering American Made AKs now
  6. It will be single stack just like the .45acp version and the .45 is 8+1 so I'm guessing either 9+1 or possibly 10+1.
  7. Doesnt the p220 and 227 share top ends? Just a different frame? I guess you would still have a magazine problem though. Admittedly the P 227 in Da/SA is what I really want.
  8. Then get the new Sig P220 in 10mm. Much better than a soul less Glock.
  9. Unfortunately I don't deer hunt as my dad was more into small game and bird and I no longer have access to land. But I still know 90%+ of deer killed in the southeast is inside of 100 yards. For that a .30/30 or .243 is just fine. The reason for those ultra magnums is the same as .500S&W, it's all about the biggest and most powerful. A .44mag or hot ,45colt will do all the practical application of a .500 with much less recoil. I read an article talking about elephant hunting in Africa. They did some testing in actual animals and the .45/70 with hot loads penetrated MORE than a .458Lott which is the same size bullet but higher velocity. Just because something is bigger and badder doesn't mean it's bettter for a particular application.
  10. That is beautiful! I have a standard SR1911 commander and I really like it. Mine now has Magpul grips on it. You will enjoy this gun.
  11. It's real. 3 models. Reverse duo tone in DA/SA. All black Nitron SAO. All stainless SAO. All have 5" barrels. http://www.gunblast.com/SHOT_2015_1.htm Starts about 2:00 Now to start saving pennies.
  12. I would go if I didn't work night shift. Looks interesting
  13. Hmmm I really like that. May have to look into those, any size comparison to a glock by chance?
  14. Likely to get a piece of the market share. And the fact these will be roughly 1/2 the price? ( I'm guessing, I haven't priced glock mags in a while) And hopefully a starting point for an entire line of mags. And yes there will be people buy them simply because it says Magpul on it
  15. I wish they would make 30rd 9mm and 45 mags for carbines. Like the Kriss and block mag ARs
  16. I have read that the 70+gr is best out of a 10.5" or shorter barrel. Something like the hornady TAP
  17. Mostly likely a one off custom piece made just for that movie or maybe some sort of airsoft thing
  18. The page I saw (Magpul's Facebook page) said it was polymer G17 mags, I saw no mention of slides, and I highly doubt a polymer slide would have enough mass to function. They have also released a Remington 700 short action chassis, the Hunter 700 Also of mention is that their new AK mags are now steel reinforced.
  19. Army won't go with anything that isn't NATO ammo. We won't stray from the 9mm for a sidearm anymore than we would field something not chambered for 5.56. The special forces type units already get to use pretty much whatever they want from what I hear. I do see them going to some sort of polymer striker fired gun though.
  20. Yep it's not even the steel case though since the extractor was fine. It's the bi metal jacket on the bullet. Lucky gunner has done a similar test except on a semi auto and the bimetal jacket on the steel cases ammo shot out the barrel itself, without the heat factor.
  21. Amen Everybody keeps trying to reinvent the wheel to make more money at it. Some things just work and nothing new coming out is going to change that. While I do enjoy SOME of the more modern things, most of the things I prefer are considered outdated by many. I would be perfectly happy if I had been born around 1860-1870. By that point we had mostly progressed past only muzzleloaders lol
  22. I work in LaVergne but live in Smyrna. There is no way I'd move any closer. LaVergne might be cheaper but Smyrna or Murfreesboro is a better place in Rutherford county.
  23. A lot of things wrong with this. First the gun shouldn't have been loaded in the case. Then the gun should have been cleared before it was handed to the customer/officer. And showed to the customer it was empty. Next the officer should have checked it himself to verify it was clear. He should have also been able to tell by the weight of it that it was loaded. He also failed to follow the safety rules of firearms handling. Ultimately it is whoever had control of the gun at the time but the shop employee isn't blameless.
  24. Keep an eye on the Desert Tech MDR. They claim it has a 2.5lb trigger but added a redundant spring to bring it to a nice 4lb trigger for a fighting rifle. It's supposed to blow every other bullpup out of the water. And IMHO a, it looks a billion times better than any other bullpup I've ever seen.
  25. 1050fps is supersonic at sea level. Anything above 950fps is considered trans sonic. Sub sonic will be the quietest, below 950fps. I rented a G19 with a gem tech suppressor and they were out of subsonic ammo so I had to use standard 115gr ammo, I was less than impressed. .45acp is naturally subsonic
