  1. No offense, but it sounds like you need to move...
  2. 7.62x40WT is nothing more than a slightly modified .300BLK. If you don't like blackout, the don't even look at the 7.62x40WT. There is no cartridge that will fit in an AR-15 magazine that will ethically take a hog at 400yds. Hogs are tough. If you want a 400yd hog gun, get a AR-10 in .308win. For an AR-15 good to 400yds on humans or whitetail deer, either the 6.8spc or the 6.5 Grendel are what you are looking at. I favor the 6.8spc as an alternative caliber, but nothing in the AR platform beats the 6.5grendel at extended ranges. 6.8spc was designed for a 14.5-16" barrel. Optimum SBR length is 12.5". 6.5 Grendel was designed for longer range and longer barrels 18"+ but it still performs out of a 16". Also, nothing will be as quiet as a .300BLK suppressed, except maybe a 9mm or a .22lr The only calibers from an AR-15 that I would be comfortable trying to make kills at 400yds would be either a 77gr 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8scp, or a supersonic .300BLK/7.62x40wt
  3. Same here, I don't ride anymore, used to though. Helmet laws and seatbelt laws should not be on the books. They are only to generate revenue. Where I used to work, you had to have a clean driving record for our department and they checked it every year. One guy who was a a great worker, had moved here from another state that didn't have a helmet law and he didn't know TN had one. He got pulled over and got a ticket for it. Then before he could get to the shop to buy a helmet he got pulled over again and they gave him another ticket for it. And technically they are considered moving violations. It was enough to have him transfer out of our department to a much lower paying job.
  4. Surefire has no equal as far as hard use high performance flashlights go. I had always heard they had great customer service.
  5. I see real value in having at least one gun in all common calibers. For handguns that would include .357mag/.38spl, .44mag, 9mm, .40s&w, .45acp, and .380acp. .22lr for rim fire, 12ga and maybe 20ga shotguns, and for rifles probably 5.56, .308, 7.62x39, and for hunting rifles .30/30, .30-06, .243, .270.
  6. Looks like a great knife, I've never even laid hands on a ProTech but it sounds like from the TGO knives they are quality. Not only that but we are getting a custom knife cheaper than the run of the mill ones.
  7. Something called liquid cocaine. Supposedly a shot of every whiskey they had at the bar mixed together. I was the roughest thing I've ever had. I hate cheap whiskey to start with so I'm sure that's part of it.
  8. When they make it to production, I just might get one. Why? America. That's why.
  9. Don't some police issue the G34/35?
  10. I can't wait for mine!
  11. If a BattleMug is wrong, I don't want to be right.
  12. It's kind of a double edged sword to me. On one hand the government should have absolutely no say in whether or not I can carry a gun or be able to make me do something I order to have the privilege to. But on the other hand it seems to me that a lot of people nowadays lack the mental capacity to acknowledge they are carrying a deadly weapon that could hurt not only them or the bad guys but also innocent bystanders. And as such, they should seek out training in how to use their weapon. But like in so many other aspects of life, some people are so stupid/ignorant/stubborn, that everyone has to be regulated into doing what is right. There would be no rules/laws if everyone just did what was right.
  13. A 29-3 was after S&W dropped pinned barrels and recessed cylinders, but before they added the endurance package making them stronger for hot loads. It is the least desirable of the versions of the pre-lock model 29. -2 and earlier had pinned and recessed barrels and -4 and later had the endurance package.
  14. There was just a shooting in Smyrna the next street over from me. I'm not in a position to buy a house right now and I just renewed the lease where I am now, but I will be moving ASAP.

    Ruger Ar

SR556 is a piston rifle, but the AR566 is a direct impingement
  16. My rule of thumb is if it's significantly cheaper than what I know if real and what it should cost, there is probably a reason why. Whether it's stolen, fake or otherwise
  17. In a pinch, I might try it in a .357mag revolver but not in a .38
  18. I'm on mobile and can't see it but what is your location? When I lived in Coffee County it was fairly common to have a well especially out in the country. But now living in Rutherford County, I don't hear about it much and I assume it has to do with all the rock around here and it being extremely difficult to dig.
  19. They were at one time but not anymore. At one time they made a better finished version of the Winchester 1892 than Winchester did
  20. Nothing beats the peace of mind of having a well. It goes right along with having a septic tank, propane tank, and a generator. Independence from the grid. Widespread severe power outages where the city doesn't have power, there is no city water. But you will have water if you have a well and a power source( generator, small solar panels, hand pump). I don't see a negative aside from initial cost. But then You have water. Period. If you can have a well, you would be wise to have one installed. I wired a house for one guy and he had it hooked up to both city and a well with a valve to change it over if the city water went out.
  21. A beretta 1911, Id have never guessed it
  22. I wouldn't rely on it for carry ammo. Isn't it fairly expensive? For any caliber there is, Speer Gold Dot is hard to beat. I personally have been carrying the Barnes TAC-XPD ammo here lately.
  23. If you ever have an opportunity to get in at Ascend Federal Credit Union, do it. That is where I bank. It is members only but very much worth it.
