  1. I rarely see a private individual want to buy a .40. When ammo dries up .40 is still around for a while. Honestly I think the only reason for the Gen 5 Glocks in .40 is there is still a number of police departments using it nationwide that haven’t switched yet. I bet in the coming years 40 will be just like 45 for departments. Only the stubborn one will use it over 9mm. My local sheriffs office still uses 45 but most departments across the country are now running 9mm
  2. Just picked up a Benchmade Adamas 275 and I’m really liking it so far. Very beefy knife. One I have now is black, thinking of picking up the tan auto version.
  3. While I don’t believe everything he has said, early on he said that not him or anybody else really knows much about this virus. Everybody is just learning as they go. As time goes on and they get more data, what they thought initially, may not be true anymore. I know he has straight up lied to us (concerning masks specifically), but some things they are just learning as time goes on. And when they say they really don’t know, I believe them on that.
  4. Agreed. Only exception being the H&K USP, it was built as a .40S&W then rechambered for 9mm
  5. Yep, it’ll still feed and not jam even with mags loaded like that. Slide definitely won’t get all jacked up like the OP. And it makes you an operator.
  6. I use to look on Midway but since Amazon is a thing now, unless it’s restricted from being sold on amazon, I’ll just get it there. Otherwise I’ll look somewhere more specialized, like a ammo site or reloading site, etc. Im sure I’m not the only one who has shifted business to Amazon...
  7. If it’s for personal use, you could probably get away with it. If it needs to be admissible in a court of law, I’d consult an attorney. One should be involved if it’s a legal manner anyways.
  8. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/1276410 Numrich usually has oddball parts like that. Says out of stock for the recoil guide but they had the recoil spring in stock.
  9. Wonder if/when they’ll switch over to Gen 5 for the large frame 45/10mm guns. I’d like to see a G21 Gen 5 FS MOS personally.
  10. I think I’ve seen it called virtual training in recent years. Might have more luck searching those terms instead.
  11. I’m assuming Clerks 2 is a movie or TV show I haven’t seen or heard of. Mama always said, be as nice and kind as you possibly can to the people that touch your food.
  12. While this may be very uncommon in that particular area, yes people do act that sort of way under normal circumstances. The problem with saying something to a complete stranger that is already physically agitated, is that it’s taken as escalation and when you carry, that’s something to avoid at all costs. That being said, common courtesy, common sense, and just being kind to one another has gotten less and less common over the years. However, right now in the current situation, the erosion of society is happening at a much faster rate. I fully agree with your sentiment of “Stay vigilant”
  13. I’m not completely sure but I don’t think there is. If so I’ve never heard of it and don’t think it would be enforced in the current situation, even if it was. Closest thing I’m aware of is it’s a felony to commit another felony while wearing body armor. Yes that’s as dumb as it sounds.
  14. All I can find for TX is they passed 1 million permits in 2016 and they changed it from CHL (concealed handgun license) to LTC (license to carry) after passing open carry legal. Saw one article that mentioned TN has far more gun permits per capita than TX and 2nd or 3rd in the nation. Behind FL Edit: found it. 1.4 million license holders in TX as of Dec 31, 2019 https://www.dps.texas.gov/rsd/LTC/reports/ActLicAndInstr/ActiveLicandInstr2019.pdf
  15. https://www.tn.gov/safety/stats/handgun.html Clicking link at bottom for current valid handgun carry permit holders says 674k as of May 2020
  16. Not made anymore but the Browning BDA is a 380 and on the larger and heavier side. Beautiful gun, my uncle (retired army) carries one.
  17. Wow, never knew about the scammers, I do remember those complaining about deals gone wrong over there though.
  18. Huh, didn’t know watching tv was still a thing
  19. I’m betting there is a disproportionate amount of liberal/progressive/political in NY but generally speaking, you’re correct. They appreciate quality engineering no matter what form it takes.
  20. For hunting purposes, that would be a tough gun to beat in .22/12ga. As you said with proper ammunition, it’s good enough for anything. Maybe I’m misremembering, but I thought the Air Force version of that rifle was .22/.410. And .410 would be terrible for a survival situation. Anyone that’s used one knows, .410 is basically a shotgun for experts. Not the kind of added difficulty you want in dire times.
  21. It reads like you are thinking a bushcraft/live off the land type scenario. I’m curious how we get there from where we are now. Living in the wilderness with only what you find and what you can fit in a backpack and maybe in a game cart is very difficult and has a TON of disadvantages. Even in the most catastrophic TEOTWAWKI scenario, long term survival (longer than 6 months) will be dependent upon if you can raise animals and grow a garden. In the 6-12 months prior to that (immediately following the “event”) when it’s complete and total anarchy with Mad Max roaming gangs (hypothetical) you will want nothing less than an AR/AK and high capacity pistol. But afterwards, you can’t roam forever, when you settle down or bug in, you can have anything and everything (gun wise) you can get. You will have to get a plot of land or work for someone who does. If you really want a 2-gun battery for that either a .357mag revolver/lever gun or .22 rifle/centerfire pistol would suffice I suppose. But you wouldn’t be limited to just 2 guns. Of course the optimum solution is to just live in the country right now, commute to work if you must, and practice growing a garden and raising chickens or whatever other animals you have room for. It doesn’t just happen it takes work and skills knowing what to do. Otherwise you’ll likely not make it past 12 months. Within 3-4 months all game and fish will be gone. You can’t live out of a backpack/off the land indefinitely.
  22. Appreciate that! In all fairness, this was at Outpost and was the only 9mm they had. I knew with things the way they are right now buying any 9mm ammo is going to be very expensive unless I just got lucky. And premium JHP is usually $0.80-$1.00 per round anyways. I found some non +P online for $40 + shipping. So maybe it wasn’t THAT bad. I sure picked a bad time to be in need of some ammo...
  23. Sadly, I just paid $50 for a 50 round box of Federal HST 124gr +P. Expensive as all get out but just got a 9mm pistol again after being without for a while.
  24. 1. Right now it requires a password. (The Swamp) 2. Is there a way to make threads in the Swamp not show up in the new content list?
  25. What the hell does gender have to do with it? It’s California. A felony is a felony.
