The key word regarding officers having full auto is "trained professional " I know I personally do not trust many in LE to handle even a 5.55 on full auto in an urban setting with innocent civilians around. In some instances, it could be beneficial if the area had been cleared but every joe blow in a patrol car with a machine gun, no thanks. Many still believe a shotgun will blow someone backwards. I also made the comment, "aside from SWAT". I certainly see SWAT having the training and being in the situation to utilize full auto, suppression, short barrels etc. If LE had to follow the same rules citizens do as far as firearms, laws would be very different

To equip them for an improbable event, sure but for the vast majority of officers, fully automatic or even a 3-rd burst is a huge liability in the civilian setting they are in.

I certainly don't disagree with that, short barrel shotguns and rifles shouldn't be regulated at all. And cops, aside from SWAT, don't need suppressors or machine guns. No reason that LE should have what U.S. law abiding citizens cannot.

Re: military grade weapons I am in support of law enforcement, local all the way up to federal, to only have weapons that civilians can legally own without tax stamps. Police don't need select fire weapons.

I'm not saying this simply to be argumentative but to provide another side to it. I bought my third pistol when I was 19. An XD-45 Service. Saw an ad on goLSN. Went and met the guy and bought the pistol, no problems. I wasn't a high school senior, I had been out of school for a year at that time. I worked construction as an electrician and had saved up some money to buy the .45 because I learned early on the .40S&W sucks ( just kidding:)) there was no harm and no foul in a 19 year old having a handgun.

Ha! The new Corvette C7 Z06 tops out at over 200mph. No crown Vic can do that. Some cars have a top speed governor but many do not. Bugatti does around 250mph. The only thing I am aware of is the Japanese supersport bike (crotch rocket) manufacturers have a "Gentlemans agreement" to electronically limit their street bikes to 186mph. But no, it's not hard to have a car that will outrun the cops car, however it's not as easy to outrun the radio ;)

Or electrically primed or careless ammunition, but I'd say all three are a long ways off still.

The way I see it is that all these little single stack polymer 9s carried out of the pocket are for the people who want to carry a gun but it have as little impact on them as possible. Not the people who dress around their gun for whatever reason. Sometimes we aren't able to, wearing a suit, business clothes, non permissive environment, etc.

Only the higher end models will hold up to 12ga heavy loads. Think Trijicon, as mentioned before, or Aimpoint. I don't know that I would trust anything else to handle the recoil. Maybe Eotech.

It happened because fireball absolutely blew up on the alcohol market and I'm sure part of it is because it's cheap. My whiskey of choice is Jack Daniels Single Barrel Select and my buddy had me try his Fireball, and that shit is rough. I'm not a fan of flavored whiskey at all.

With proper shot placement, a .40 would do for a black bear. They aren't brown bear or grizzly. They average 2-300 lbs full grown. Sure if rather have a 10mm or a .44mag or even a heavy .357mag that would penetrate better than .40sw Congrats on surviving the encounter. I'd say that he without a shadow of a doubt now has full confidence in that pistol as a carry gun.

I only have a ProTech. It has a safety but it is right below the button and I have been practicing when I take it out of my pocket, my thumb slides the safety down then hit the button to open. It's very smooth and fluid that way.

Hunting license has nothing to do with buying a gun. I'd be pissed too

Those are all nice but I'm really starting to like those VP9s more and more. First time I have heard of a compensator on a .22lr though.

Especially considering LAPD SWAT uses .45acp... And I'm sure many other LE agencies do as well. And they just created a HUGE black market.

Well just from what I have read online there were a lot of problems with the full size made by Walther. So smith made it just a bit smaller for smaller hands and they manufacture it themselves and it has typical S&W quality instead of airsoft quality. I may be mistaken but I think S&W discontinued the full sized Walther version.

Plus you have certain trainers out there teaching swapping shoulders when room clearing and what not. Might appeal to them. Disclaimer: I have not had any training in the swapping shoulders when coming around corners room clearing with an AR. It may or may not work. But I have seen videos of it being done.

It certainly fills your hand. And feels great in the hand. It carries VERY well. One big problem though, I now want more ProTechs and these puppies aren't cheap lol. May have to pick up a Runt or Sprint for a smaller carry.
