  1. I would guess that most of them did unless they were felons. A lot of gangs, not just bikers, are having their members get their carry permit if they can to avoid police hassle of just one more thing.
  2. Actually it seems he may be Voldemort's cousin...
  3. Also it will be MUCH easier to go through the sidewall than all the belts and tread. I wouldn't want to be that close because under pressure it will blow out violently.
  4. Oh and while this is a gun owners/enthusiast website, the vast majority of us aren't fanatics, just normal guys who want to be left alone while we carry concealed
  5. I don't think we shouldn't have the right to and the government certainly shouldn't tell us we can't but it just isn't common place to do so. And doing it is simply doing to to cause a reaction. If things get bad enough that I need to carry a rifle around, I won't be too awfully concerned with the law at that point as it will be far beyond what is expected in America.
  6. I guess that settles the rumor if there will be another Jeep Grand Cherokee srt8. 707hp fed through AWD? Even with the weight that should be good for a 9 sec. Quarter mile and that's on a prepped track. MUCH better traction on the street with that much tq. I have seen reports of dyno tests on the charger and challenger versions that say with the rwhp they are putting down, power at the flywheel is closer to 750-770hp. Mopar is severely derating these things.
  7. Might take her favorite purse and sew a holster to the inside of it and possibly reinforce it.
  8. Wow I thought I was the only person left on the earth that refuses to get on Twitter.
  9. Thanks for the update. Did you have raised iron sights to get either a lower 1/3 co-witness or full co-witness as an immediate back up system or did you have to remove the RMR to utilize the sights again? I have highly considered getting an RMR for my carry pistol and had not heard of or thought about the ability to be effective if my glasses were damaged.
  10. Never in the history of man has it been acceptable by the general public for a man to be carrying a rifle on his person walking about in general public in civilization in America without a legitimate reason for it. Even in the old west and whatnot, you left your rifle in the scabbard on your horse. Yes, you carried your holstered handgun, but not the rifle in town. Only time a rifle or shotgun was carried in town was if you were law enforcement or protection for a company ( guarding a stage coach or courier) or about to murder someone. Whether you want to believe it or not the AR-15 is scary and offensive to the general public. That will never change. It is an offensive rifle. If you actually used it, a jury would see you as the definition of carrying a gun looking for trouble. Carrying a rifle is not as convenient as a handgun and is not acceptable and never will be as it never has in the 150 years or so that we have had cartridge fired weapons.
  11. I must have missed the first time, a H&K .22lr pistol? Tell more...
  12. What happened? What killed it?
  13. My problem with the 74 is you can't get brass cased ammo for it. And I don't care what kind of firearm it is I'm not running steel cased ammo through any of my rifles.
  14. Rather have the godson now but having a Punisher TR4 from the small run, it would look wicked with that two tone blade, especially with the TGO logo on it.
  15. I don't know of many popular handgun cartridges in either .284" (7mm) or .30cal. A couple of old outdated .30cal cartridges but nothing commonly used today. For rifles, yeah. I think .30cal is just the old standard kind of like the Chevy small block and it just keeps on going. 7mm has good ballistic coefficients as does the 6.5mm which is growing in popularity among long range target shooters
  16. Definitely 6x6s. No doubt. Use 2x12s on the floor, if used for firewood, that's a lot of weight. Personally I'd go with 12" floor joist centers under the wood storage area then go to 16" centers for tool storage area. A 6/12 pitch is REALLY steep, much more so than the drawing. The drawing looks closer to a 3/12 pitch, which is plenty unless you want a lot of height in the attic for some reason, storage, etc. Depending on how wide the building is, you may need some additional support in the center of the building. A 36" door may be ok if no large power tools such as tillers or push mowers, etc are in there. Otherwise consider a set of double doors. No windows, not worth it unless you plan on sitting at a work bench in there in which case you will be miserable without power no matter what. And my experience says that skylights are a pain in the rear and not worth the expense. It wouldn't cost much to put a light or two and some outlets in there if needed but if not, a flashlight would be better than windows.
  17. It has no place for a 5.7 magazine unless you use a mag block and a 5.7 pistol mag. The AR-57 uses a p90 magazine that loads into the top of the picatinny rail just forward of the rear sight
  18. @OP is that real? When I read the threat title before I clicked it I thought of the AR-57.
  19. IMO, Barnes makes the best expanding bullets on the market for anything. I particularly like their loaded ammo, the TAC-XPD for pistols. They use a nickel plated case, which helps ever so slightly in feeding, and a Teflon costed solid copper hollow point bullet. The Teflon coating helps reduce friction on the bullet because copper is less dense than lead. Say for 9mm as an example, a solid copper 115gr bullet is the same physical size as a 147gr bullet, therefore it has more surface area touching the barrel and therefore more friction and you have less velocity. Tests I have seen indicate that the Barnes HP provides maximum expansion, yet still provides industry standard penetration. They are still loaded with primers containing lead, so they aren't completely lead free. But I don't give a damn if it lead free or not, having the best performing ammo is what's important to me.
  20. This is the first I have heard of Leathermans being anti gun. I always go for the quality product no matter what their political or moral stance is.
  21. I fail to see how hard it could be to take the rotors off. It isn't that hard to do, actually pretty simple.
  22. I have probably 4-5 different Leathermans right now, from a really big one to a small one that is basically just a pair of pliers and a pocketknife. I love them, but I do try to evaluate what tools I need and carry the smallest one with the tools I need.
  23. I'm not sure if this is the case where it's being done on purpose but, The old African type double rifles, the reason they are so expensive is that it's a very tedious and time consuming process to regulate the barrels. And by that, they have to adjust them to ensure that if both barrels are fired at the same time, that the bullets don't strike each other mid flight. Sometimes it takes a lot of ammunition and those rifles didn't fire cheap ammo to begin with. I'm not saying they designed this 1911 to fire one barrel slightly later than the other, but it would make perfect sense if so.
  24. TN doesn't ban anything ammunition wise that the Feds don't. I carry Barnes TAC-XPD, it's not illegal.
