Best thing about Fords, they circled the problem. JK, get used to the Ford vs Chevy, it's almost as bad as South vs North.

This thread has to be the biggest combination of ridiculousness and valuable information yet.

Nice! A G19 and G43 is about the perfect carry gun combination. I've really been looking at the 43 myself

https://www.battlearmsdevelopment.com/bad556-lw-lightweight-7075-t6-billet-lower-receiver-set Something like this?

I haven't bird hunted in a while but while quail and pheasant are close to the ground, they move FAST. I could hit them with regularity. Higher up will be harder but not out of the question. If he was 65 yards up like they claim as well as it only got hit with one pellet on a propeller and lost altitude and crashed doing the majority of damage, I'd say it's entirely possible

If you have a place where it wouldn't fit is the only reason

Threading "hunting" bolt actions advice
nightrunner replied to Rebels010's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
All I can add to this is the fact that with hunting ammunition, neither .243, nor 7mm mag will be hearing safe. No doubt quieter than without a suppressor but not hearing safe. -
x infinity It's more expensive but the Kahr is soooo much better. Smoother, better trigger, real sights, functioning slide lock, and the fit and finish is far better than the others.

First of all let me say that I hate that a site like that exists and have no compassion if they were to get caught. However, if it isn't against the law, and it isn't in some places, who are they to be the moral police? If they want to actually make a difference and be real moral police, go shut down the child pornography and other pedophile websites. There is so much out there that is worse than this "Ashley Madison" website. I'd bet a hefty amount that somebody in this hacker group had their wife/husband cheat on them using this site, so they got their hacker buddies to help them shut it down out of vengeance.

Gun shop owner declares store Muslim-free zone
nightrunner replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
Forcing a business to serve someone is straight up socialism. Might as well tell them at birth that they will run said business as an occupation when they are grown. Capitalism means you start your own business and serve who you wish. -
I'm not in Wilson county but Krispy Kreme the. Dunkin Donuts is usually a pretty safe bet. Not have one of those around?

Academy always has some American Eagle when I am there. Just thinking, but would a Marlin be able to handle the length variation from a .357MAX, .357mag, and .38spl? .357MAX in a lever action would be pretty nice

Either Walmart which has spotty inventory or Academy which always has ammo.

I'm thinking a free floated match grade barrel along with a true competition trigger to start. I'd swap to either a fixed rifle stock or a Magpul PRS as well. Lots of load development as well, still may not get there. There is a reason that true competition long range shooters and military/LE sharpshooters/snipers use a bolt gun still. An auto loader just can't compare.

That looks good! I'm betting you could still have a toolbox on there just not permanently attached so you could remove it easily if you needed the space. I'm with you on this heat. No sense being out in it if you don't have to.

If you think Glock model numbers are difficult, try figuring out Smith & Wessons

Petition was created that demands military be able to CCW
nightrunner replied to tennesseetiger's topic in General Chat
I support the notion of military officers carrying. I think it should be the same as police. The pistol is part of the uniform. Uniformed carry openly with the option to carry a backup concealed and all off duty/plainclothes is permitted to carry concealed also. Although I also believe these petitions don't do much of anything -
US Military moving to 9mm JHP?!
nightrunner replied to graycrait's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I don't know to be honest. Anyways, 15 vs 17-19 isn't that big of a deal considering it is a backup weapon and rarely used outside of training. -

nightrunner replied to graycrait's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
They already have 17rd mags in their M9s. Only thing higher that I am aware of is the XDM9 at 19rounds and the FN 5.7 at 20 rounds. -
What's the best 22 Hornet & it's Hunting Applications?
nightrunner replied to Sidewinder's topic in Long Guns
No experience on coyote with this round, only paper at 100yds and it did fine for that. And that was with a Ruger 77/22Hornet. Fine rifle, but I have always lusted for a pre 64 model 70 in this caliber. -

nightrunner replied to Sidewinder's topic in Long Guns
The best .22Hornet? Why that would be a Winchester Model 70 pre-'64 Featherweight. Doesn't really need an explanation why. -
I would use it for some plinking but I'm thinking mostly hunting uses. I can use 9mm or .38spl or .223 for just plinking around. Thinking squirrel and similar sized small game. I see Hornady makes both a 86gr round nose and a 90gr XTP in .30cal. That's the smallest i found in a quick google search. Still twice the weight of a .22lr bullet though. I'm sure you know of what cast molds are available, anything small and light? Is there a simple .308" spherical ball available? I don't cast yet but would like to in the future.
-
What would be involved in that? Obviously a barrel, but otherwise? As far as a revolver, there were many .32-20 revolvers made. Mostly single action SAA or clones, but S&W made double actions and Ruger has made their Blackhawk in this. .44/40 is a bottleneck cartridge as well, I believe that both the .44/40 and the .32/20 has a small enough bottleneck that it works ok. This has me very interested as with the .22lr being as hard to get as it is, I have been contemplating a center fire replacement. .25acp would be nice but no body makes anything in it, especially rifles. Been looking at .25-20 and especially .32/20 hand loaded subsonic as a replacement.

Agreed. I'm not military and had never shot a MG, I rented both a Kriss and a full auto 556 AK sbr, I no longer have a desire for them. I can do all I would need with a good semi auto and some trigger discipline. I'm not a trained soldier nor do I plan on going Rambo when SHTF.
