  1. They say it's how your town or county gets funds, but I'm guessing a single man that doesn't receive any govt cheese isn't very good for getting funds
  2. I got it too. Basically said My address was randomly selected for it blah blah blah. I've thrown away two notices and the whole big booklet they sent. I don't have time for that crap. If I wanted to do a survey Id do one that enters me to win something, yeah sure. They threatened to send an agent out to do the survey in person. I work 12hrs on night shift so I would be gone in the evenings that they might come in. But if not, may God have mercy on them if they wake me up trying to sleep, because I surely won't.
  3. Book of Eli for me too. For many reasons. I believe it holds a lot of truths in that movie.
  4. Slated. But I bet they never made it. Just sayin
  5. I was a PC/ Android guy since I started buying electronics. A couple months ago I decided to break down and get an iPhone 6 and this thing is sooo much easier to use than an android. I'm looking forward to trying out an iMac and seeing how I like it. No small part of that is that I absolutely loathe the new Windows operating systems since XP
  6. I didn't mean to single you out only the popular and common sense notion that it's easier to get rid of one by throwing it in the river. And the reason for the drop boxes isn't to get rid of guns it's for the police benefit in one way or another.
  7. Same here. Was sent in for some one time and it was a young girl cashier (16-17 yrs old), and when I was checking out, she asked if I was sure I got the right ones kind of sarcastically. Just told her if I didn't I'm sure I'll be right back.
  8. Lots more options. Kahr P380 or PM9 or PM40 Glock 42/43 S&W Shield See camp 380 Ruger LCP/LC9 Springfield XDS 9 or 45 Colt Mustang Pocketlite Don't forget the not so lowly J-frame Lots of great options out there
  9. Yeah but then the government doesn't have quick access to them. And I'm not believing that they don't both sort through them and take out the ones they want and sell the rest or at least some of them.
  10. X2 I had a S&W M&P340 with and apex trigger in it and it was great. Quite a handful with max load .357s but light as a feather to carry and barked quite loud when I needed it to.
  11. I don't think you could make the container secure enough. I mean, a box full of guns? Come on! That's begging to be freed from captivity lol
  12. I heave heard that a 9mm carbine kicks more than a 5.56 AR. Obviously without the muzzle flash and sound though. Mostly due to the blowback operation. I'm with TMF, that Kel-Tec PMR-30 is probably about the best option I can think of, with low recoil and easy to operate trigger and/or slide.
  13. There should be no such thing as plea deals. You get caught doing the crime, you do the sentence and/or fines associated with such crime, no way out.
  14. I just wonder about sound levels and if it will be quiet. How it compares to the Silencerco Saker 762 is my real question.
  15. Same here. Love the selector markings. Put an older ACOG ( with scripture engraved on it ) and you are set.
  16. Life is too short to shoot crappy guns or drive ugly trucks.
  17. Some people grow up boating and out on the water and they know what is common boating courtesy is. Then there are these other people, likely the majority now days. They buy a boat because you can just go sign a dotted line and get one, no licensing or training at all as long as it doesn't sink they are ok. They aren't taught what is right or wrong on the water or what is accepted common courtesy. Most don't know how red/green correlates to left/right.
  18. Corbin is usually a pretty safe bet as well, I have no experience with it though, only the Barnes and the Speer. Then I use American Eagle for target loads
  19. My favorite is the Barnes TAC-XPD. Solid copper bullet and nickel plated case. Pricey though. Speer Gold Dot is a safe bet for anything. Be wary of Buffalo Bore, since the ammo shortage they started using Montana Gold JHP bullets instead of Speer GD. The Montana bullets have had problems with jackets separating in flight.
  20. I have been wanting one of those since they came out. I really hate the look of the asymmetrical suppressors but also see their advantages. My favorite look for one of those Salvo 12s is on a Remington 870 with a 12" bbl and 6" suppressor.
  21. Your choices diminish greatly only with a thumb safety. Consider a Kahr. It has a trigger very similar to a revolver in double action, long and heavy but also very smooth. It's not hard to learn to shoot it well but it will not fire unintentionally. You will most definitely be consciously pulling the trigger for it to fire
  22. Part of the fun is trying new things! Go to a range that has a variety to rent, Nashville Armory is nice. Rent different ones, unless you get a super magnum revolver and don't hold it firmly you will be fine. I had always heard the .44magnum was heavy recoiling and all that. Then my buddy got one as a gift, a Ruger Super Blackhawk 7 1/2". He let me shoot it and while it did have some recoil it was VERY fun! Me personally, I don't care for shooting .22lr much anymore, part of shooting for me is the sound and recoil, 9mm minimum. Worst thing that could happen is you don't like it and go back to your .22
  23. I've wanted one in 454 for awhile. Very nice
