Need a Knife RECOMMENDATION
nightrunner replied to Defender's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Got the black manual. Like it so far but it is much larger (thicker) than I expected. It makes the Protech TR4 seem small and svelte. Which is no easy thing to do. I don’t think I could break it if I tried. -
".280" not a 280...243, 220 Swift? Ideas?
nightrunner replied to 19_A_CPT's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Safe to assume it’s some sort of custom gun with no markings whatsoever? Edit to add: If you think it’s .30-06 based, I would look more at .22-250 or .25-06 -
Magazine Capacity Limit For Big Game Question
nightrunner replied to Will's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Use a belt fed if you really want. Restrictions for most are personal. Don’t want a heavy gun or a long magazine sticking out. Only magazine restrictions I am aware of is 3 rounds total for migratory bird. -

Yep, BladeHQ is good to go, just ordered an Adamas from them last month. -
Know that the brass being damaged when your shoot it is normal. You won’t be reloading it. It’s because of the fluted chamber and the roller delay system. HK91s just destroy brass. Nothing wrong with the gun it’s just how it is and there’s nothing you can do to fix/change it. Just a heads up.

I would like to see a side loading battery for the RMR, always seemed odd that it didn’t have it.

Sage Dynamics is an excellent resource for RDS on pistols. I agree that Trijicon and Holosun are the only ones durable enough for an EDC pistol that may get bumped around and depended on for your survival. However, an unpopular opinion, is that I would rather either use irons or work overtime/save a little longer and get a Trijicon. I’d prefer to support an American company vs Chinese and even more so, an American company with a reputation of making very hard use equipment for our military and putting biblical scripture codes on their products.

Need a Knife RECOMMENDATION
nightrunner replied to Defender's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
For a small blade, I carry a Buck 55. When looking for a small knife of that sort, nearly every “review” or description of that type of knife (one without a thumb stud or flipper, nail knick only) it’s said it cannot be opened or closed one handed. It’s absolute BS. Same is said for this particular knife with the lockback release at the end of the handle away from the blade pivot. I do it all the time, actually it’s nearly always opened and closed one handed. I have carried a Case Peanut also, very nice. Although I would say the peanut is best for light cutting jobs only such as paper or opening packages. The blades are thin but sharp and excellent for cutting/slicing, but not much else. If going with an automatic, I wouldn’t touch anything except Protech or Microtech. And I don’t thing Microtech makes anything like you are looking for. -

On a serious note, if you want practice driving under nods, I’ve heard of guys with very mild off road vehicles (think Jeep on 33s or anything else with 2 inch lift) going on trail rides on VERY easy trails at night and driving the trails under nods instead of using all their lights. I wouldn’t try driving under nods on a public road, anytime the lighting would be suitable, would be when it’s a higher possibility for a drunk driver to be out. I’d really hate to have to explain why you were driving total blackout and in that particular case, you just might end up being at fault instead of the drunk driver if he hit you. There are trails in TN that you can do in a stock 4x4 vehicle. I’ve even seen them done in a Subaru and Honda CRV

Not going to pretend to know about all the braces on the market, but that looks like it could be one. Kinda Shockwave Blade ish

I’ve been wanting a Seecamp 32 for the longest time, don’t come up for sale very often though...

You mentioned black bear and men. I would think the Speed Six you mentioned would be just fine. I would probably want it in a hunting type chest rig/holster. Ideally, I would want a .45Colt Single Action Army with max loads FOR A COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY (255gr LFN @ roughly 1000fps). Along with a Winchester 94 Carbine in a rifle scabbard (vertical near the saddle horn, not horizontal underneath the saddlebags). And if concerned about snakes, one of those muzzleloading double barrel 12 or 20 gauge shotguns with pistol grip only and 6-8 inch barrels in a saddle holster. Edit to add: 4 3/4” barrel on the revolver for quicker draw, maybe 5 1/2” if you’re ok with a slower draw but longer sight radius. I feel the 7 1/2” would be just too much to carry/draw but would be best for sight radius/power/accuracy. Might keep a 4 3/4” in the holster on your chest and. 7 1/2” in the saddle holster.

What gun laws would you like to see passed in TN
nightrunner replied to billyblazes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, permitless carry was about to be voted on right before COVID shut down the legislature. That, along with preemption, would go along way. Add those of us with a permit to carry EVERYWHERE no restrictions. Then we just need someone willing to potentially sacrifice their freedom and take the BATFE to court over the Tennessee Firearms Freedom Act and get us a legal precedent for it and we’d be sitting pretty good IMO -
If you’re a man that doesn’t like power tools, I just don’t know what to say.

I guarantee you whoever is doing that is just “operating” that without owners supervision

Makita makes the same type of setup, but it’s made in the USA vs Milwaukee made in China

Why’d you have to marry ALL of them? Leave some for the rest of us.

Because there are multiple independent ballistics tests done that show there is little to no difference in ballistic effectiveness between common pistol calibers (9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, .357mag) when using modern JHP ammunition. And 9mm has a definite advantage in shoot ability, control ability, and capacity.
