  1. Welcome to the forum! You have to pay to become a benefactor to list items for sale.
  2. So I take it video games over there are about as bad as guns over here? They make you a bad person to the people in charge? One more reason I'm never going to China
  3. X2 on this! Ever since we got an Academy in Smyrna, I have been able to boycott WalMart 100%. They haven't had ammo for awhile in any measurable amount, but Academy has everything you could want except cheap .22lr and that is there sometimes just not all the time.
  4. They are, my bad. Could one be modified with a gas system? I haven't ever seen anyone selling a .357sig AR barrel aside from this one. Maybe talk to this guy, he has direct impingement 9mm and .45acp ARs http://www.rmwxtreme.com
  5. .270win is simply a .30-06 necked down to a .277" cal bullet. Therefore is will have a slightly lighter weight bullet yet higher velocity. .270win is an excellent round to hunt with at longer ranges without the excessive blast and recoil of true magnums.
  6. The main .30cals, .300blk, .308win, .30-06, .300winmag, they all use the same bullet .308". They just have a larger case and carry a larger powder charge. Longer barrels do NOT increase accuracy, although many people will try to tell you that. They increase velocity, which means you have less bullet drop to account for at longer ranges. Shorter barrels are actually more accurate due to less barrel whip. If shooting off-hand, you have to find a good balance at a good weight. A lightweight rifle is harder to hold steady and a heavy rifle is harder to hold up for very long. As mentioned before about the .30cal rounds, the .308win would be minimum for 4-500 yards. It's good to 6-800 if you have the skill. A .30-06 is even more powerful than that. And the .300winmag even more so, at the expense of recoil of course. Inside 200yards, any rifle caliber will do the job even 5.56/.223 is capable at that range, extend it beyond that though and you need more punch for a single round hit.
  7. I believe it's a combination of things. .300blk uses standard .30cal projectiles which are cheaper due to the volume sold, whereas 6.8 uses .277cal bullets which aren't as widespread in use. .300blk is based off of 5.56 which simplifies brass production I'm sure. 6.8 is based off from .30Rem (obsolete) case, and likely shares no machining with anything else. .300blk is the big thing right now and simply more popular than 6.8. Supply and demand pricing.
  8. For 10mm, I don't believe it gets any better than that. With the long barrel and optic, that is THE setup right there. Nice!
  9. I have always wanted one as well, along with a 10mm carbine. Quarter circle 10 has barrels FYI.
  10. A quick look on lucky gunner says, $20.75 for Hornady BTHP and about $16 for American eagle FMJ/20
  11. As far as cost to shoot, that was another thing I found false in my experience. When I had mine ammo was about the same as .45acp to shoot, both mid grade range ammo and premium JHPs.
  12. I think the real question is how far out do you want to reach out and touch? You mentioned plinking at 200yd. Is that as far as you will reach or do you want to make ethical kills further out than that? Cheap and long range are polar opposites.
  13. 9x25 is just a 10mm necked down to 9mm. Needless to say, you can get some rather spectacular velocity out of it :)
  14. I have had some .45acp have bullet setback which I noticed and did not fire it was so bad. Low grade 230gr FMJ and a Charles Daly officers 1911. Never experienced it with the .357sig, but I didn't chamber the same round a bunch of times maybe 2-3 at most. Ammo was either WWB, S&B, Speer GD, or Hornady XTP. I'd say the range of ammo is more like 9mm varies, you have range ammo and hot JHPs. There isn't really a market or need for weak .357sig loads. If you want less get a 9mm, more get a .45 Less ammo options in .357sig, I used XTP when I could find it and Speer Gold Dot as a backup if I couldn't find XTP. I tell you what though a G33 with 10 124gr XTPs is a whole lot of firepower in a small package. If anyone says .357sig is fading away, that's BS. It ain't going anywhere. For one around here you have THP, country wide, I know there are other state and local police issuing it. I'm pretty sure at least one federal agency issues it as well.
  15. I have had a Glock 33 and a Sig P229 in it. After I traded into the G33, I read online about how brutal and snappy the round was in the small G33. I simply didn't have that experience with it. I have large hands and didn't have any grip extensions on it and had no problem holding onto it. Didn't really notice any more recoil than any other sub-45 caliber pistols I'd shot. Admittedly, I didn't shoot my P229 very much but it was an older German made one and I really liked it. Carried both at times. It's basically a .357mag in a .40s&w platform. I never attempted to reload it. Bottleneck cartridge promotes more reliable feeding. That along with the improved penetration is why THP carries it. .357sig is what the tactical kool kids carry ;) I got away from it simply to consolidate calibers, I still think it's an awesome round.
  16. If I were about to be executed for my faith, especially in front of many others, I would pray for the strength of Samson and the speed of light to overcome him. And then use everything I had to send him to Lucifer.
  17. I will proclaim my faith to the death if necessary, but I will not go quietly. If someone tries to kill me, no matter the reason, they will have to work for it.
  18. It's not so much that they would, but they can't. TN law says if you are involved in a justified shooting, you can't be charged with intent to carry.
  19. Is there a reason you didn't include the Trijicon RMR? It's basically the default for the tactical shooters, some claim all are junk except the RMR. I have no experience with any of them but hear nothing but good from the RMR.
  20. That's sweet! Takes a lot to make a G20 look small lol
  21. Surefire backup will do as you need. I was an electrician and used it daily, not a lineman but still. Bigger the better obviously but backup stayed in my pocket and was always there. Keep an eye on batteries though. That thing was like having a built big block Chevy with a 5 gallon gas tank. Ok maybe not that bad but close.
  22. It's very hard to beat Surefire. I can verify that a Surefire backup will light up 100 yards out, probably further. It's a heck of a light, never had a defender but I'm sure it's even brighter.
  23. Yep, the big tractors have GPS. Drive it once to map it out then set it and forget it, you're just along for the ride.
  24. As I understand it, firearms manufacturing is defined by creating the serialized part from raw materials or materials not suitable to be used in a firearm(i.e., 80% AR lower machines into a usable lower).
