  1. Sounds like the same thing as when people scoff at paying that much for a 617. "That's too much for a .22!" Well you aren't buying a .22, you are buying a K frame S&W, and they don't give those away.
  2. It is revealed that Yoda is Spock's father.
  3. H&K P7 is a gas delayed blowback action. Likely the reason for both the heavier weight and the higher recoil.
  4. Yeah but they are pretty labor intensive to fix
  5. You could omit "in the middle of a gang shooting" and that still be true lol
  6. It's always a gamble with that many miles on anything.
  7. As to the guns... I grew up hunting which turned into target and sport shooting. Then got a pistol when I was old enough for fun shooting, which turned into defensive use, then I found TGO and now it includes collecting as well. Some guns I have purely because I like the way they look. Granted, I do shoot them from time to time as well. I also like having some around for SHTF/TEOTWAWKI, but I guess that goes along with defense.
  8. Yes it does. Yes. It. Does.
  9. Aimpoint T-1 or maybe the new Trijicon red dot
  10. You know a TGO thread of any length doesn't stay on the original topic very long.
  11. What size cab are you looking for/need?
  12. Man, that's so true it hurts.
  13. How? I'm betting brass is very similar, 45 is larger diameter but 10 is longer, so that's negligible. Primer is the same. 10mm will take MORE powder than .45. A 200gr bullet vs a 230gr bullet isn't that much of a difference. More bullet and less powder vs less bullet and more powder? I'm betting they equal out in the end. 10mm just doesn't have the sales volume that .45acp or 9mm does.
  14. I better not catch you sneaking around taking pictures in my back yard anymore... It's not stupid if it works.
  15. My 02 z71 ha 170k on it now, but I know it will need repairs soon. Most people don't take care of their vehicles anymore. They are disposable to most. My dad bought a 99 Silverado brand new, only new vehicle he ever bought. We took care of it but it was a work truck and was treated as such. I have yet to see a used vehicle in as good a shape as that truck was. With what trucks are now and what they have in them, I don't necessarily dispute what they cost. Tech toys are expensive, not to mention the advanced power train they have.
  16. It's a lot of miles for anything that runs on gasoline. Yes, I agree, $20k is a lot for a vehicle with that many miles but if you want a full sized truck, that is the price the market dictates. You have to raise your budget or change vehicle types to get less miles. I don't like it either. I'm looking now too and it's frustrating trying to find a good truck for a reasonable price.
  17. That was likely a $40-45k truck brand new. $20k off for 2 model years is pretty big.
  18. Aside from custom 1911s, I'm not sure there is anything currently made that has that kind of hand fitting and precision and craftsmanship built into it.
  19. It's several things together. All the options that make a truck appealing to the masses that don't need one just like the look are both expensive and heavy. All the modern safety features that are mandated by the government are both expensive and heavy. The government mandated efficiency levels, both emissions and fuel economy, are expensive to implement and meet. Not to mention the R&D to develop said systems. The options and safety features mentioned previously that add weight makes the vehicle less fuel efficient, they then have to do R&D to use either aerodynamics or the power train to reduce fuel consumption. Materials are also getting more and more expensive every day. The quality and quantity levels required from the manufacturer require state of the art facilities to produce the vehicles. You also have the fact that most if not all inside the US are Union on top of that making more money than they should be( yes I can say this because I have worked on the assembly line for a car manufacturer) It's a lot of things together, but mostly just blame the government, they are the root of all problems not money, lol
  20. Registered receiver
  21. I can't see the video right now, bad area. Is that a .950JDJ rifle or something else?
  22. Only thing is, is that Academy buys straight from the manufacturer and has their own warehouses so they have better prices on nearly everything.
  23. That's a great deal! Quick everyone run buy all that they have. Just make sure you have a legitimate excuse when LEO questions you after someone calls the law for a suspicious purchase... Sorry, just poking fun at recent events :)
  24. Oh, I just remembered, Daniel Defense just came out with/is going to come out with their .308 line. Not sure on price or availability though.
  25. Willing to hand load? If so the .300blk is 80% of a .308win performance wise. Check with dolomite about some long range loads, I believe he was working on developing some. It's not just a 200yd cartridge. For a .308 semi, which can't really be beat IMO, look at the Ruger SR762, DPMS Gen 2, Colt LE901
