  1. Maybe I'm just oblivious to it but I don't see much negativity towards women here. Aside from the jabs at Hillary of course. Most here that post about such things as getting permission to buy a gun or hiding it from them when they do buy it, comes from the actual situation they live in. Believe it or not most women would rather go clothes or shoe shopping than gun shopping. A lot of women do need to start with a lighter recoiling caliber and/or something easier to rack the slide on. Women have less physical strength than men it's just how we are made. You like big bores, cool. I know several men, even big old country boys that don't care for a .45acp as a defensive caliber. They prefer the 9mm or .380acp. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we welcome all members regardless of gender. You even have your own subforum ;) I really would like to hear what comments you found offensive. Maybe I or some of the other members could shed some light on why they said that or the train of thought behind it. I highly doubt anyone meant to have a condescending tone towards female shooters.
  2. Wow, couple names here I haven't seen in a long time. Good ole days. RIP It's good that the kids get a kick out the NORAD tracker
  3. In all reality, it would take that many or more people doing what they should all at once to really make a difference and turn this country around. I miss Mother Freedom.
  4. .400 corbon was designed to duplicate 10mm ballistics in a .45 pistol. Similar to the .40S&W/.357sig relationship, just drop in a barrel in a .45acp and that's all that's needed to convert to .400corbon. And even more forgotten is the .40 super. It's a .45super case (which is made stronger in key areas but otherwise physically identical to .45acp) necked down to .40 cal.
  5. Oh my. Now that's classy. Never knew about that...
  6. A bumper would be required due to safety regulations. So would a radio, kind of. The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, built to be a factory street legal race car basically. 505hp naturally aspirated 427 v8, 6 speed manual only, A/C and radio is optional. BUT! If you opt for the radio delete, it still has to have one speaker installed in the drivers door for the door chime which is mandated by federal law. We have been mandated into oblivion. I don't think anyone ever died from not having a door chime in their car. Also, Dodge is able to claim as having a "class exclusive" manual transmission option. No one else offers it anymore on anything you don't need a CDL for.
  7. In the end times, you will only know the seasons by the budding of the trees. I'm ready for the cold weather as well. Mostly to watch everyone else look and act like fools because of it.
  8. Hence the hand loading part ;). Not much if any factory loaded .45super out there.
  9. You will be able to get better prices on everything but the gun online, a brick and mortar store simply can't compete with all of the online stores. IF you know what you want. I'd recommend some night sights and holsters as well. I like Surefire the best for a weapon light, but Streamlight is good too. No experience with Viridian.
  10. Yeah, I agree with a 50/200yd zero for an AR, but it doesn't translate at all to the AK. 5.56 and 7.62x39 have very different ballistics.
  11. Sig uses "grip modules" instead of backstraps like Glock, M&P, H&K, etc.
  12. A Springfield TRP with the half rail would do nicely. Or a Colt Rail Gun. Or or or or... :) You might take a look at the H&K HK45 full size or a Sig P227 both are 10rd .45s
  13. Maybe some Chip McCormick 10rd mags are in order for a 1911 on nightstand duty?
  14. If there was ever a thread that deserved pictures...
  15. Awesome! I remember a few years ago that a guy hit over a million miles on the original engine in his 90s Chevy truck. GM and several other companies were throwing offers at him to buy exclusivity rights to his story for advertising purposes. Never heard what became of it. Of course, it certainly wasn't the original transmission, a 4l60e won't last that long no matter what you do.
  16. I hadn't heard of them until I was surfing sigs site the other day. It looks VERY nice. I'd like a p226 in 9mm first, then get a p229in .357sig. I read they will be coming out with much more in the future. I'd love to see a p227 legion. One thing though, you know a custom gunsmith is big time when the manufacturer uses his parts on their high end custom guns. ( Bruce Gray and GrayGuns)
  17. I want the .500mag version!
  18. This sounds an awful lot like Cash for Clunkers...
  19. I worked for Dish and while you might get lucky and get it ok, you will need both a signal meter( thousands of dollars) and a special compass type thing, I can't remember what it's called. You have to get your horizontal and vertical planes pretty close and then dial it in with the signal meter. If you can get it to work for you great, but a professional can get it to where it won't go out unless it's raining so hard you can't see your hand in front of you. And with dish when I left we were using up to 3 separate satellites combined to get all the programming for system. So you might get one sat and not the others.
  20. Sounds like the same thing as when people scoff at paying that much for a 617. "That's too much for a .22!" Well you aren't buying a .22, you are buying a K frame S&W, and they don't give those away.
  21. It is revealed that Yoda is Spock's father.
