On a M16, the receiver breaks and you are just out. And heat treating wasn't as good in the 80s as it is now. An RDIAS, can be put in any new receiver and transferred should the receiver get damaged. Also, the Colt LE901 which is convertible from 556 to 308 uses an AR15 trigger group, one of the only ways to use an RDIAS in a 308 AR that I'm aware of. I think an RDIAS is more value able than most diamonds ounce for ounce lol

G18s are post-86 dealer sample only. My opinion is that a RDIAS ( registered drop in auto sear) for an AR is the best value but I believe they are around $30k now. LOTS of platforms use an AR trigger now, everything from all the ARs in every caliber, the MPX, the new LWRC SMG45, the new version of the Brethren Armament MP5 available in 9mm, 40, 357 and 10mm.

My understanding is that 1:7 will stabilize any ammo from 55gr up to 77gr. Special Forces is using 77gr ammo now and everybody wants what they are using. 55gr is common plinking ammo. And people want a rifle that will run and is accurate with anything they can pick up off the shelf. I'd personally like to see more A2s and slower twist rifles out there. Actually I don't know of many, if any, factory built rifles with a slower than 9 twist barrel.

The Colt AR15A4 is the closest thing I have found without building your own and it's still a 1:7 twist and a medium heavy profile.

Exactly! No more automatic deductions. Make people pay it all at once and it would not last long at all. But convenience leads to complacency.

I have had good luck with the Galco Combat Master. Once you get it broken it, it squeaks quite a bit until then with a leather belt.

This may be up to the individual instructor, I'm not sure. I know for me personally I took my HCP course in March or April, don't remember exactly, and I turned 21 in June. So it was a couple months prior to turning 21. It may have changed even as this 6-7 years ago and I do remember the 80s video and I have heard they have a new video for the classes now. Just my experience. I applied maybe a couple days after my birthday, certainly the same week. Had no problems getting approved either.

1911 may be one design but John Browning made many many more designs. Not to mention starting the Hi power

One place said "it was coming" another site said the .22lr version was in the early development stages. Who knows when but I'd bet on late this year if not next.

Kriss announced the Vector to be released in new calibers. 9x19mm, .40S&W, .357Sig, 10mm, and .22lr The 10mm version excites me very much.

I'd buy the hammer before I would the Glocks. Seriously, that is a nice looking hammer.
