  1. i honestly think i would take a AR-15 or a .308 AR if leaving. along with a xd-45 for personal protection and if possible some sort of .22, either a 10/22 or 22/45. i would hope that i would still be able to use my truck to get out and to a safer place( in the wilderness somewhere) and in that case, i would take all of my guns and ammo and take what i needed out of my truck when i needed it. but honestly it probably wouldnt work out like that.
  2. sorry but i just dont trust .22LR for personal protection. for hunting small game, yes, but that is it in a SHTF scenario
  3. i use photobucket also
  4. "The Judge" would just piss it off i would think, unless you use the .45 colt rounds instead of the .410 shotshells
  5. thats it, im getting this for a carry weapon
  6. please tell me thats in a desert somewhere VERY far away from TN....
  7. and who said that?
  8. where at in manchester? indoor or outdoor? the only range in manchester i know of is terry walden's place
  9. absolutely. id love for them to make it
  10. does anybody have a good forum for AKs? dangit y'all got me curious to learn about them now.
  11. edit:suntzu beat me to it
  12. yea those are all junk, why dont you send them my way and i'll dispose of them properly for you
  13. i would love to see a shotgun specific subforum.
  14. i once heard the practical application of guns for personal defense and it makes sense. i use my handgun to protect myself. i use my shotgun to protect my home. i use my rifle to protect my property.
  15. cant an sks be modified to accept AK-style magazines? i have done no research on the ak's or sks's as i have little to no interest in them but always appreciate newfound knowledge:D
  16. im gettin a red x
  17. definetely an AR-15 but im sure there will be people on here who say that an AK is better.... also there is the sks. those three are the only rifles i would consider for your purpose. im sure that given the situation you could make do with any rifle but i think the AR would be the proper weapon of choice.
  18. which is what i am looking at. if i planned on staying with a 18" barrell, i would just get a remington 870 pump with a 7-shot capacity. id like to find something that is marketed as a hunting shotgun becuase that is the type of gun im looking to start with, wood stock and blued steel. http://www.longmountain.com/movieguns/TheUntouchables/DSCN9952.jpg that is pretty much what im looking for.
  19. because any handgun with over a 1/2" bore is considered a destructive device and therefore classified as a AOW.
  20. sawed off 12ga. side-by-side, anybody know of anyone that makes one(manufacturer)? looking for something like this, except without the duct tape. also dont want a pump. i know they make a version of that. think of the western movies, one of them always carried a sawed of double barrrell shotgun, with a pistol grip and about a 6"barrell. if no one knows of a shortbarrell version, does anybody know of a current production side-by-side that is a normal style, without all the gold and silver accents and engravings? just a normal wood stock and blued barrells, like to find one pretty inexpensive. why do i want it? because i can.
  21. i heard a rumor that taurus might be developing a 12gauge pistol called "The God". although it wasnt determined if they would follow through with it as it woudl have to be classified as a AOW.
  22. has anyone on here put optics on their home-defense shotgun? ive seen a couple of setups with a small red dot or a holographic type sight ( eotech). do they work better than say a bead sight or ghost ring sights?
  23. i think .223 would be best. an AR-15 in a varmiter setup would be ideal
  24. good to see more people seeing the benefit of concealed carry
  25. yes 279 for any high-quality gun is GREAT! i never had a problem with my sigma except the trigger was heavier than i thought it should be. i had never had a semi-auto pistol before though so i had nothing to compare it to. my XD-45 is MUCH smoother and lighter though. also my HK usp in SA was much nicer, but pretty much the same i think in DA
