  1. sounds like it was loaded a little hot....
  2. no, i wouldnt be shooting that much through it. just be something to go shoot at the range every once in a while. i would like to pick up a compact polymer frame version for concealed carry when i get my permit
  3. does anybody have one? how do you like it? are they reliable? i never hear much about them but the fact that they can interchange with just a slide and magazine swap to 9mm, .40S&W, .45ACP, 10mm, .38Super, and even .22LR on the same frame i think is awesome. im interested in a 10mm version. also what is a good price on one, there is a LNIB one for $395 that i found, steel frame-10mm. good/average/not?
  4. xd talk just flat out sux now. i only post on here anymore as far as guns go. i always post up on performancetrucks.net though. there are a few others i look on just to get information, like rimfirecentral
  5. no it wasnt pete, but his shooting buddy(pretty loud person), as i understand it. my shooting buddy told me about this as i was over at the pistol range most of the day. i can believe taking the spade off a playing card at 330yards( berm at terry's) but not doing it a 2,000yards. no, i was the tall redhead guy just standing back watching. pete and this guy def. have some good advice on shooting as i have never had any instruction as how to shoot accurately, but some of it i dont believe.
  6. so if i go the SBS route, i can still put on a pistol grip right?
  7. Winchester - Decherd area, franklin county
  8. if i wanted a pump, id rather just get a serbu super shorty. rather have a double barrel SxS
  9. this is what i thought. even at 1,000 yards that is pushing it because i thought i read somewhere that someone achieved 0.15...MOA at 1,000 yards but i guess not. i always thought that 1 MOA is doing pretty good thats a freakin' 20" circle at 2,000 yards, hell of a difference from 5/8" to 20"
  10. actually he used to work for Barrett Rifles and got fired when they lost their military contract. even if he was half as good as he says he is, it would be documented and nothing that good is documented
  11. my shooting buddy and I went to the range this weekend and while i was over at the pistol range, he was at the rifle range and he told me about another guy that was there that made an outrageous claim and honestly i dont believe that he can do it, much less that it can even be done by anyone. he claims that he can group 5 shots into the size of a dime at 2,000 yards. according to my measurements, a dime is 5/8" but i'll give him the size of a quarter (1") for easy math. 1" groups at 2,000 yards is approx. 0.05 MOA, if my math is right. to be able to even see that far you are going to need at least a 100x power scope to be able to see clearly out that far. i dont think there is a gun or cartridge that can make that shot besides a .50BMG or a .408Chey-Tac. 2,000 yards is over 1 mile, not many people can make a shot like that. he also claims he can hit a fly at 1,000 yards. also says that if you are good enough you dont need to factor in the wind when shooting 1,000 yards except for the first 35-40 yards as after that the bullet is not affected by it. also note that i have never seen him actually shoot, he just sits there and BS's with the other guys there. the best i can find that some one has shot that is documented is 0.1+ MOA and that is only at 1,000 yards. anyone else think this is impossible
  12. i dont think that the govt. of any sort should be able to tell me whether or not i can carry. i do though believe that a person should be comfortable in his abilities to operate his carry weapon in an efficient and humane manner. but the govt. shouldnt be monitoring this, the individual shoudl decide if/when he is ready to carry a concealed weapon
  13. those are pretty good!
  14. i dont really want a 1911 in 10mm right now, i will def. get one later but right now just want a DA. the eaa witness and smith 1006 is looking the best.
  15. when i click play, it just says," we're sorry, this video is no longer available".....
  16. how do you like your witness? is it polymer or steel frame? what caliber currently? i'm thinking real hard about getting a 10mm but the glock doesnt really fit my hand at all. smith 1006's are hard to find, around here at least.
  17. hold on there a minute! now there are some REALLY sexy wheelguns out there:D
  18. what can .338 Lapua mag do that .300 win. mag cant? i thought they were very close to the same in ballistic performance but the .338 had less recoil.
  19. AOW = any other weapon SBS = short barrelled shotgun class 3 weapons
  20. i think the 10mm would be a great choice
  21. does anybody have some specific info on the ACR? i cant find a whole lot really, just when its supposed to be released.
  22. when i bought my xd-45 it was FTF and the guy wanted my DL # and name and address, said, in case there is any trouble with the cops. i just said ok and went with it cause i really wanted the gun and drove 2hrs. to get it and got a good deal. on the other hand my buddy has traded guns FTF and nobody ever wanted anything but the guns. if anybody ever does any FTF gun deals with me, as long as i get my gun(s)/cash im happy i dont really care who you are, where your from, or what you have done, the less i know the more i can honestly say "I dont know". im more worried about the condition of the gun or making sure all the money is there instead of who has it and what they're doing with it.
  23. and is when i would want a .308 AR
  24. i like them alot but unfourtnately dont have any yet but im scoping out a marlin 1895 in .45/70. also a marlin 39A in .22
  25. i have read that the carbon fiber barrels are prone to warping when they heat up
