  1. red x here buddy
  2. man, thats a sweet-lookin bike. nice!
  3. i got a couple of those on the short list to get
  4. if i recall correctly, that was determined to be a setup for the video.
  5. not even close to me IMO. 12ga. is much more in my perception. my 20 ga. kicks more than it does with birdshot. those are just bone stock hunting guns though, no recoil reduction
  6. even though i LOVE the feel of it, its just waaaayyy to expensive to shoot recreationally. at 26.50 for 20 rounds for the cheap stuff, i wont be going to the range and going through 1-200 rounds at a sitting. there is a place nearby where i think it is a professional reloading shop where you go to them tell them what you want and they load it for you, never been but will check into it. i dont have the place or proper instruction to get started in reloading/handloading. besides i dont shoot THAT often but would probably shoot more if i had the ammo to shoot....
  7. just wanted to let you guys know that i did some poking around on the marlin forums and they did make a pistol grip verison of the .44mag 1894 in 2004 for a short period. might have made the .357mag not sure, but if you check pawn shops and gun shops, they might have one.
  8. i wish i had something to compare recoil to. only high-powered rifles ive shot are my AR and this 1895 the 1895 is MUCH more fun to shoot IMO, love the recoil it has with 300gr. bullets.
  9. couple questions KahrMan, how did shortening the barrel affect the way it shoots? did it shorten the effective range? increase muzzle blast, or recoil? does the front sight obstruct the view through the scope? Very nice rifle you have.
  10. yes it is going to be expensive. the cheapest quality ammo i can find on the net is remington green box 300gr. for $31 for 20. but a gun shop about 30miles away from me has the same thing for 26.50 no tax
  11. dr alarms, go to the dealership and get the male end for the seatbelt harness and just plug that in all the time;)
  12. i did read some reviews where the hornady leverevolution had the flattest shooting round for the .45/70
  13. ive never had any ammo related problems and i havent bought any ammo from anywhere but walmart yet, cheapest in town.
  14. thing about it is they arent enforced, they might write you a ticket if you get pulled over for something else but theyre no going to pull you over for a seatbelt violation. ive been pulled over before and they just told me to put my seatbelt on if i didnt want another ticket
  15. thats why i was looking at the buffalo bores stuff. you get better velocity and energy in a larger bullet, granted you probably get more punishment in the shoulder but thats beside the point:D buffalo bore: 300gr. Jacketed hollow point - 2350fps/3678ft.lbs. 350gr. Jacketed flat nose - 2150fps/3427ft.lbs. 405gr. Jacketed flat nose - 2000fps/3597ft.lbs. 430gr. Long lead flat nose - 1925fps/3537ft.lbs. 500gr. full metal jacket flat nose - 1650fps/2931ft.lbs. Hornady LEVERevolution 325gr. flex tip expanding - 1875fps/3032ft.lbs. Remington 300gr. semi-jacketed hollow point - 1810fps/2182ft.lbs. 405gr. jacketed soft point - 1330fps/1590ft/lbs.
  16. i was actually looking at the buffalo bore +P ammo has higher velocity than others and option of 300-500gr. bullets. i have a marlin 1895 so it can take the +P ammo.
  17. what is a good load in the .45/70 for deer? factory ammo, not handloads. do i need a 300, 350, or 405 gain bullet? and with a slug that big, a soft point should be fine right? no need for a hollowpoint? thanks
  18. i had to neuter it (with MS Paint) to keep it "PG" rated.
  19. nightrunner

    Im Drunk

  20. i really dont have a reason for it either, lol. im probably going to try to get into deer hunting this upcoming season and use it for that, i just like a leveraction rifle and i shot my brothers NEF handi-rifle in .45/70 and knew i had to have one. I also like it because .45/70 was the first self-contained cartridge commercially available
  21. picked up my 1895 today, its a beauty IMO http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8251
  22. A Marlin 1895 in .45/70 Gov't. that is. cant wait to shoot it.
  23. yes, i posted in it lol. im probably going to pick up one or two of those.
  24. who wouldnt? that would be a dream gun....
