  1. this is one of the things HIGH on my list for an AK, build quality. ive seen and heard of some AKs with very poor build quality, like canted front sight bases and slack/slop in the action, not for me. is there not a high-quality AK or AK-variant that takes AK mags that has great build quality?
  2. will it take standard AK mags or does it take CZ-specific mags like an unconverted saiga.?
  3. just cause. if SHTF the AR and AK will be the assault rifles that you can get mags and ammo for easily and i would like to have each platform available to me just in case. want to get a .308 AR too, so thats on the list, also. not that i wouldnt shoot the AK recreationally but for a home defense rifle an AR or AR-variant will be my first choice.
  4. anymore info? who makes it? etc.
  5. no offense to anyone who has an SKS but i think they look like crap, cant stand them.
  6. yea but im not exactly thrilled about grinding and filing on a brand new weapon. and if im going with a AK receiver, i want to use AK mags
  7. so, im starting to want a 7.62x39mm rifle to go along with my 5.56mm AR. what are some of my choices? im seeing the AK-47, converted saiga, AR in 7.62x39, or ruger mini-30, probably either the AR or AK. anything else. what is considered to be the holy grail of AKs? not talking about a custom built rifle, but something i can either get at a gun shop or have them order for me. wouldnt mind spend about what i did on my ar($900-$1k) for a good one. i just want it to be reliable, accurate, gotta look pretty good too. i know i want a fixed stock but not sure if i want wood or black furniture. thanks for the insite
  8. no the lower is registered as a pistol and it will always be a pistol, you could techincally buy the pistol and then buy a shoulder stock to put on it and have an unregistered SBR.
  9. it would be illegal to put a shoulder stock on the pistol lower.
  10. on the .458socom forum there is a guy that makes custom stocks for the ar and one he made was part wood (walnut i think) and part synthetic/polymer, it looked really awesome
  11. never shot a fnp but a beretta 96 that i shot was very slow, i could almost watch the slide come back and then go back forward
  12. i went back and checked but it is there in the opening scene, its only used for a short amount of time though, and he does pull back the bolt handle like you would a bolt action. but the first sniper rifle he used looks like a remington 700 with a camo job on it. the main one he uses though is the cheytac 408.
  13. holy tacticool weapons system batman!
  14. werd, and it is a bolt action.
  15. and when in shooter did he have a 82a1?
  16. a BIG part of it i believe is that it is now called Sprint Cup, they have spoilers that look like they belong on a Formula 1 car and they have bascially neutered the sport with no beer or cigarette sponsorships for the cup series( i mean for the name of the series) and they brought in toyota a foreign manufacturer to an all american sport. i feel nascar is on the downward slope, and itll be hard to climb back up to the top
  17. mmmm, making me hungry
  18. you have my deepest sympathy. i only met her once at the hero gear event but she seemed so nice. i was shocked when i heard she had passed. you and yours/her family are in my prayers
