  1. um, what kind of opinions do you want? i dont know about yall, but reloading is starting to look awfully good about now...
  2. does concealment mean security or does it need to be locked up away from kids, etc.
  3. dude you seriously need to make a trip down to hero-gear. if you can walk through that store and not see something you want, you have a serious problem.
  4. exactly, that plus the the high-cap. mags are why it is priced so high, but hey there's a sucka born everyday
  5. notice i said a nice looking S&W. and not all smiths are nice looking, i have seenthat one and really dont like it. if they come out with, say one based off the 686 or the 642 id go for it otherwise, no
  6. oh she has shot before and has no problem shooting just doesnt want something like my .45auto i used to have or my dads old .44mag blackhawk. she just hasnt shot in a LONG time and wants to practice and be accurate(and i applaud her for that). she also wants to keep that size of gun and no semi-autos side note of .327federal mag. - i love the idea of this cartridge but until colt comes out with a DA revolver chambered in it or S&W comes out with a nice looking revolver in it, i probably wont have one
  7. i voted for the FS2000, but the only reason i didnt vote for the SBR'd AR is the tax stamp( not price but paperwork and inconvenience) and unavailability other than that, it would be SBR all the way. the MSAR is just hideous IMO
  8. My mother has a S&W model 31-1. It is a 6-shot J-frame chambered in .32S&W Long. It has a 3-3.5" barrel. lately she has asked to go to the range to shoot it. she had her (dominant) right hand crushed in a press in a machine shop a few years ago and she is afraid and curious if she can handle the recoil of the gun in her right hand or if she needs to learn to shoot left-handed. being that it is the .32, i suggested that she needs to trade it for .38spl since they dont recoil that much more and it would be more suitable for self defense. also she needs some ammo for it anyways since what little she has is about 25-30 years old. what do you guys think? i wish i had a .38 for her to try but i dont. should i try to get her in a .38 or just have her practice with the .32 problem is though that they dont make a HP or defensive round in .32S&W...
  9. call me cold hearted or whatever, but if i am in that situation and i forgot to disarm for a prohibited area and a threat appears, the only way i am going to draw my weapon is if i myself am in immediate danger or my family or close friends. if i dont know you, sorry about your luck
  10. if they want to do something REFORM NASCAR. they have neutered it so bad that there is no competeition anymore. hell, i dont even watch it since they went to the "car of tommorrow"
  11. no longer than a 24" barrel and no shorter than a 20" this is for .308 .300 will need a 24-26" barrel for good velocity and powder burn.
  12. he had better hope thats what it is or his ratings will drop very fast
  13. i dont believe there is a false word in this. seriously
  14. i dont have any now and was thinking about getting some, have some good sites bookmarked. but i cant get them in a tall size like i need for concealment so i probably wont
  15. first is birdshot last is buckshot
  16. 12 gauge or 20 gauge is the way you measure the inside barrel diameter of a shotgun the smaller the number the bigger the barrel. birdshot is lots of tiny pellets designed to spread out more than others, it is used to hunt birds with. buckshot is used for personal defense, as it has fewer larger pellets. some 12ga. 00buckshot has about 6 pellets of shot that is like getting shot with a .380 6 times with one pull of the trigger in a shotgun. slugs are a very large bullet and have a harsher recoil. 12 or 20 gauge is the size of ammuniton, birdshot, buckshot, and slugs are the type of ammunition. you are correct 12 ga. is bigger than 20 gauge. there is 12ga. birdshot, 12ga. buckshot, 12ga. slugs and the same thing in 20 ga. size. the shot is different than just a bullet, thats why a shotgun is so destructive. a slug is what you you think of as a bullet. Benelli Nova is a good shotgun, not quite as popular as the remington and mossberg. and i thought they were usually more expensive oh and the full brand name is O.F. Mossberg and sons. i assume O.F. is his first and middle initial. but everybody uses mossberg for short. im looking for some pictures of birdshot, buckshot and a slug being shot so you can see the difference edit: punisher beat me to it but o well
  17. i reccommend buying used at least 1 year or so but you can get really good deals right now on new cars
  18. i agree with most of what has been said. we dont know what size you are physically, but if you are small-framed, i would suggest a 20ga. youth version, remington makes a 20ga. with a youth stock in home defense disguise (synthetic stock, 18" barrel, full-length mag tube) in 20ga. you can still get buckshot and slugs just like 12ga. also you might consider a recoil-reducing stock, like from KNOXX, either with or without the pistol grip in the shoulder stock im sure if you post up where you are in TN there is somebody nearby that will let you try out their shotgun before you buy one that doesnt fit you
  19. it is the standard 5.56x45mmNATO round that the army issues. 5.56 is hotter than .223 ( higher operating pressures) made for the ar-15
  20. where at in tullahoma? how about an address? interested as i need to go shoot some soon
  21. TGO david, that bit of info about using the search function, has that been posted before, perhaps in a sticky that i missed? if not it probably should, because there are times that i remember a thread and want to go look at it for some info but i dont remember what section its in but when i search for it i cant find it but i know its there.
  22. i have read that this is not reccommended.(putting a round in the camber manually) can cause premature damage of some sort. it is easier to insert a full mag, chamber a round and then takeout the mag and top it off with one more round
  23. but i highly doubt that you would have stolen it in the first place, since THAT's not the right thing to do. but in the instance of say you found this gun somewhere or heard of it being in a lost-and-found type of storage, yes i believe many people on here would return it to him but i dont think a thief is going to give the gun back to its owner just because he asked for it.
