i vote for getting a M82-A1 and then buying the 25mm upper for it since money obviously isnt a problem if you get a 25mm anyways...
  2. Glock Conversion Kits - 9mm to .22 LR one version of it
  3. i coulda swore that ialready posted in this thread, but anyways you are one lucky son-of-a-gun
  4. now if its a revolver you can shoot all three interchangeably, .22short, .22long, and .22LR. but no matter what a .22LR can NOT be used interchangeably with .22mag or .22WMR, completely different
  5. they are chambered for .22LR you could probably handload each one for a single shot if its .22Short or .22long but the mags will likely only feed .22LR
  6. i have heard that you can call gerber and tell them that your pouch for your multi tool ripped or broke and they will send you another. but you probably shouldnt do that unless you actually have a gerber knife...
  7. im sticking in the US go to backwoods of montana or something if i had to "disappear" for some odd reason.
  8. IMO the only lever guns to consider are winchester and marlin
  9. i think musicman is a insurance guy
  10. im not really complaining, well yea i am. i hate how much ammo has gone up but its just like when the gas went up to $4+ a gallon, i still bought gas and ill still buy ammo. sure ill bitch about how much it costs but ill still buy it because i need it
  11. dang last show i went to i got WWB 9mm 500 round case for about $130 about 2 months ago
  12. welcome
  13. i always thought they were for practice/target for the recoil-shy shooter
  14. although my gun collection was recently liquidated, my choices would be H&R handirifle single-shot, with a few conversion barrels (its a takedown rifle) AR-15, with .22LR, 6.8SPC and .458socom uppers (again a takedown rifle) 870 (again takedown gun) subcompact 9mm fullsize 45 service sized .44mag (usable for hunting big game, or could be carried OC with .44spl.)
  15. probably tax issues

legal barrel length on a rifle is 16". but it doenst really matter because with a 25mm bore, it i well over the maximum bore of .5000 inches and will therefore be classified as a destructive device and subject to NFA registration

that one is only a 20mm but its case is over twice as long(138mm vs. barretts 59mm)

    Barrett 25mm

posted on a military/defense site "As for absolute caliber, the “biggest” rifle out there is the Barret XM-109 25mm payload rifle. Firing a low-velosity, scaled down version of the 30mm M789 HEDP (High Explosive Dual Purpose) ammunition used by the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, the XM-109 is capable of penetrating just under 40mm of armor, and, when used with the Barrett Optical Ranging System (BORS) has an effective range of 2,500m. Yet, like the IWS 2000, the 33-pound XM-109 is still in a developmental status (currently the felt recoil of the XM-109 is outside maximum Army tolerances.)"

i just read something on the net the other day about it, just that it was in development, but figured it was an old article
  20. from what i have read the 6.8 outperforms the 5.56 in every aspect except for mag capacity in same size magazine, 20 vs. 30 in standard hi cap mag. also the 6.8 packs more punch ballistically than the 5.56 at every range from muzzle to max effective range
  21. m77? and the .408cheytac was designed as a extreme long distance anti-personell round/rifle, the .50BMG is long range defense against light armor and such, has been adapted for use as a sniper rifle but doesnt have near the accuracy at distance as the .408
  22. walden's is open to public at $5 per shooter per visit. havent been to viola but im sure its open to public
  23. there is a range in manchester called Terry Walden's on Sixteenth Model rd. there is also one in viola but im not sure where as i havent been there. terry's is where i took my hcp class, good place. another option might be to find someone who has some property in the country and befriend them and go shoot there. and welcme to TGO. if you want a great gunshop to go to, try Hero-Gear in winchester on college st. GREAT place. also the Outpost is pretty good on exit 89 on I-24
