  1. yea under characteristics its lists barrel lengths as 20", 22", 24", and 27" and lists the overall lengths as 46" with stock open and extended with 22" barrel and 36" with stock folded and 22" barrel. therefore the shortest the rifle coule be is 34" OAL with the 20" barrel.
  2. no. as far as it being a SBR, it is NOT. it is both over 26" in OAL AND its barrel is over 16". if i read it correctly the customer supplies the suppressor and it can be used without it so you would need to get a stamp for the suppressor if/when you got one for it, but that would be it. i see no reason to have to get a stamp for it but as im sure you wont be seeing these on the private sales market anytime soon, a dealer would let you know right quick that it was a NFA weapon
  3. see edited post. and yes it falls under the same thing, IIRC
  4. huh? SBR is for 16" barrel or less. and i believe its 26" overall length or less. either one of those and its a SBR and it doesnt meet either one. it would only be 34" with stock folded and a 20" barrel
  5. no, only the sign that says something to the effect of, all guns must be unloaded or remain holstered, or something like that.
  6. says the use the customer-supplied suppressor. but reccommend the AAC Titan.
  7. .45 and .380 are opposite ends of spectrum but ok! ruger and S&W semi-autos are hard to beat for the price.

    Scout Rifles

no i wasnt saying that a semi auto is the only way to go but that him saying a bolt gun is a requirement fr a scout gun isnt really valid anymore because of advancements in weapons technology. i think the 7600 you have would be perfect if you could mount the scope far enough forward. maybe look for a cantilevered scope mount like the remington 870 factory slug shotguns

    Scout Rifles

well honestly his concept is not valid anymore. he says that you shouldnt use a semi auto because it isnt as accurate and that you tend to not try as hard to make the first shot count as you have a quick second shot. change your mindset and concentrate on the first shot for that. and semiautos are now just as accurate as bolt actions so that point is mute

    Scout Rifles

i didnt see the article but i thought the point of a scout scope was for quick action and follow-up shots? IMO the bolt action is one of the slowest action types out there. now a lever action scout rifle makes more sense as does a pump action or a single shot break action(actually can be pretty quick with practice) and the ulitmate is a semi-auto like a springfield armory socom II. maybe i am missing the entire concept though. looking at pictures on remingtons website, i have to ask why it would not lend itself to having a scout scope? looks like a great platform.
  12. x2 there are very few gun shops that didnt jack up prices during this period of shortages. one of them resides in winchester. heck joe even had stuff that was pretty much "unattainable" at the time
