  1. yes as far as handguns go the .44mag is the best all around hunting cartridge. some places .500 or .454/.460 does better.
  2. because there are very few semi-auto pistols that actually chamber it. desert eagle is bout the only popular one that comes to mind. i said pistol not handgun
  3. maybe underperform .45colt but not .45acp. the rest are revolver cartridges. 10mm is THE common pistol hunting cartidge
  4. wow, its getting pretty deep in here. there are some bad apples in every bunch. this guy is obviously one of them. but all cops are not bad. and the good ones are not that hard to interact with, that is unless you are being a jackazz to start with. i am not in anyway involved with law enforcement but they have the utmost respect from me for many reasons. cops do the job most of us dont want to do yet sopme of us bash on them for it everyday. its just like punisher said, the bad incidents arent getting more common, they are just being made knowledge to more people. if it werent for the internet, how the hell would a tennessean know OR CARE what goes on in louisana or ohio or where ever.
  5. i think you have an option because on mine it just ran out and i lost my benefits for a day or so until i re-upped.
  6. no, IIRC the 264winmag is a barrel burner. good work on finding the right combo for accuracy
  7. let me know how you like it, im curious. does 400corbon fit .45acp 1911 mags or 10mm 1911 mags or are they different?
  8. because you can. safer for your ears. doesnt alert other animals. doesnt alert other hunters. because liberals hate it. because you can.
  9. from what i caught in the video, it sounds like the trooper thought the kid was racing. most THP dont like that kinda stuff. but you saw in the vid where the trooper got out of his cruiser and basically ran up to the kids car gun drawn and put the gun to his head inside the car. he had no right to pull his gun like that. sounds like Tudor is a cocky SOB and needs to be off the street
  10. yeah, I appreciate the help.
  11. just over 10k i think. i just saw a short clip on newschannel 2 this morning
  12. see i just took the recoil spring assembly out by forcing it to the rearward of the slide and the reverse plug stayed in there. and trying to take the barrel out from the rear didnt work
  13. man i feel so stupid. after watching the video i realized i missed the reverse plug that stayed in the slide when i removed the guide rod/spring thanks for the video and help!
  14. all i have is a phone for pics right now and they wouldnt show enough to even bother. im told the daly's are just RIA 1911s, but this one feels tighter than the RIAs i have held.
  15. are you going to put some kind of sights on it? nice work!
  16. i just got a charles daly compact (dont flame me for it, it'll do for now, i hope). it has a 3.5" bull barrel. i took the slide off the frame and got the recoil spring out but the barrel doesnt want to come out. its like the slide has a grove in it that holds the barrel in it. the barrel flares out on the end, which im sure is normal, im just not used to a bull barrel 1911. the slide is narrower on the part that mates to the frame than it is where barrel actually sets. how it got in there i dont know.
  17. when a 1911 is fitted with a bull barrel does the barrel not come out of the slide?
  18. a lot of people use it for a BUG. very popular.
  19. mail it back like mike said if you dont need it im sure someone around here does
  20. looks similar to the hk usp IMO. ive heard good things about them
  21. since you are considering swapping from .308 to AR it wont work but i was going to suggest getting the one that has the .308 ballistic drop reticle but it would be wrong if put on a 5.56 AR
  22. looks accuracy reliability how it feels/ergonomics serves it intended purpose well, whether it be CCW, hunting, range gun, CQB, precision long range, etc. the rest doesnt matter really. ease of cleaning, i dont shoot a whole lot and when i do i enjoy spending time handling my guns. cost of ammo, while it matters i wont choose one gun over another because all ammo is affordable until you get to mid-high caliber centerfire rifles, and i wouldnt shoot them that much., reloading is a wonderful thing and these are in no order as they all have about the same weight
  23. id go with springfield personally
