  1. to be honest guns, cars and houses are still for the most part sold with a little bit of room to move around on the prices. and with the exception of houses they are two of the very few things that you can trade out on a regular basis. i know what i can get a used gun for and if i am willing to buy a used gun or not. so i know what im willing to pay for a gun before i even go to the shop. if the price on the tag is close, i might try to haggle, but if its outrageous im not even gonna try to talk you down. sometimes the seller will throw in a box of ammo on the deal, but most times not and its not expected. i am buying a gun not a complete package deal. price means alot to me when buying a gun, to an extent. i have 1 shop that i usually go to, to get my guns and gear (except ammo). i may look at another shop and if i get an uncommonly good deal, i will go for it. if not i take my business to my normal shop. i may pay a little more on this deal or that deal, but overall i am getting better deals on average there than anywhere else. it nice when a dealer will make a deal on a trade with you on the internet, sight unseen, and when you get in store and your trade value isnt quite what he figured on he plays around with the numbers to make it work, even though he wont make much money on that deal. heck, it made me a lifetime repeat customer and he will make more off my subsequent visits than he could have made by increasing his price or rather sticking with his profit margin, and me just stopping by if im in the area. plus convenience and service has a price (not that i want to have to pay for it, but i am willing to patronize a place because of it) i completely understand where a gunshop owner is coming from when people try to tell them your price is too high. im an electrician and if you think my price is too high, i dont get the job, pure and simple. i absolutely HATE it when people tell me, "i can get it done somewhere else cheaper", until about a year-year and a half ago i would say, then get them to do it, but i have to move around a bit now on prices. i have always tried to be as fair as i can on prices but a man has to put food on the table and a roof over his head.
  2. i could probably fit that in the back of my pickup truck and front wheel drive? with 300hp? seriously gonna need rwd/awd and a six cylinder or more to impress me
  3. gun dealers dont make much money on guns anyways, not enough to keep their stores open at least. they stay in business with ammo and holsters and accessories. most times, yes, you can get it cheaper from a private party but it is also in unknown condition, just like cars.
  4. no, as far as the GSG pistols go it has a pistol grip so it is called a pistol, nothing to do with the NFA at all
  5. does temporary mean, in reference to NFA weapons, you have to keep a 5.56mm upper?
  6. correct, you can use the 30-rounders for deer. but after you do it once, you may find that it may not be the easiest thing to carry around through the woods with a big long mag sticking out
  7. please send me a heads up when you get something on this.
  8. pm me with info on what training/education is needed if you dont want to post it up, seriously
  9. did he go all the way down with it or bail before it went off?

    H&K UPS 45

first polymer hammer ive even seen. i had a USP-40 and it was amazing. most accurate gun ive ever shot. if it had been a .45 i would have never let it go. also the trigger guard is waaaayyyy out there, so that may play a role if you intend on adding light/laser to the rail
  11. just a FYI, you dont need a permit to carry on your property.
  12. i never even got a license till i turned 16. just hunted on family property and where it was located, game warden was never out there, so it never mattered. we were just humane about it and used common sense. the reason it is regualted now is because of the poachers and the people who dont use common sense when hunting. also its the ones that go hunting just purely for sport. im not saying hunting just to have food, but people that would go out, kill a deer, then cut its head off to have mounted and drag the rest to a valley and leave it for scavengers to eat, thats uncalled for IMO. If its on private property, and you dont have a neighborly feud going on or something i say hunt if you are actually hunting and not just killing and be done with it. IMO, YMMV
  13. remember the 7.62x39 is the ballistic equivalent to .30/30Win.
  14. i believe they specify that it must be centerfire, but other than that, none that i am aware of
  15. i had the same view until i saw what a soft-point expands out to. however i personally would use a larger caliber myself like a .30-06 but my buddy is small-framed and getting older and doesnt like shooting large calibers anymore
  16. strickj, the only way you could know that is if its your car. i have to say you have questionable tastes.
  17. i watched my buddy first-hand take two different deer on two different occasions with his bushmaster AR-15 A2 w/ 16" barrel. using soft-point brown bear ammo, it left a nasty hole coming out the other side. one was about 100yards the other was at 220 yards. a .223 is very capable of dropping the deer around here.
