  1. I left at about 1:30 because it was so durn cold! Had a great time though! Thoroughly enjoyed Ronnie Barrett's speech. Nikki did great too. Didnt see many fellow TGO'ers there though. Guess everybody got there later. Got some TGO swag while I was there too.
  2. dont wait. call after about 2-3 weeks. go to the hcp website, it is linked to the Drivers license site. there is a number to call for the status of your hcp. I just called and asked about the status of my HCP and gave her my info and she said "it is ready to be issued, it should arrive in the mail in 7-10 days." i told her thank you and hung up. The call works wonders. I got my permit in about 5 weeks from application date.
  3. will there be a designated place for TGO members to meet up? This thing is going to be awesome.
  4. WTF? Is this serious? I know im out of the loop but really?
  5. well my holster sucks, cheap kydex. and i really need a holster to carry my 1911, just a wee bit big for pocket carry. probably be a truck gun until i get a decent holster for a 3" officers frame 1911.
  6. Ive read about it on SHTF survival forums and it seems to be popular for BOB bags and survival TEOTWAWKI scenarios.
  7. I had a .410 pardner shotgun, same thing only shotgun version of the handi-rifle. I have shot a .45/70 handi-rifle and held/played with a .223 survivor handi-rifle. They feel VERY solid and are a GREAT value, IMO. Its no AR in terms of high amounts of firepower, but they are great for what they are.
  8. 7-10 days is what I was told last week
  9. Saiga 12 Remington 11-87 Remington 1100 Mossberg 930 Benelli M4
  10. I talked to the inspector about it. He told me a flippin idiot that hasnt done the first bit of electrical work EVER could pass it IF and a big IF he knows how to look up information in a reference book. Basically all you need to know to pass the test is where different things are located in the codebook and what sections they are in etc. Virtually no one could memorize the entire codebook and be able to quote code and the title (311.2.1.3 for example). And the codebook is so large and contains so much information that you dont have time during the test to just skim through it looking for an answer, you have to know what section that type of information is in. I think its only about $40 to retake it anyways.
  11. I see words above the picture but none beside it. I dont see a conversation anywhere.
  12. How is your G22 locked if you dont mind explaining?
  13. I must be doing something wrong because all Im getting is a picture?
  14. I would rather have a gun safe or even better a safe room. But if funds allowed it, I would ideally like to have both a safe and an alarm system
  15. I dont, I was about ready to go take it when work stopped and that blew that. My father/former boss has one.

    joke

not sure if I can get away with this, but here goes. There was a meeting where the speaker/guest was David E. Cole, Chariman of the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), an engineer with 40+ years automotive experience, full Professor at the University of Michigan. You have all likely heard CAR quoted, or referred to in the auto industry news lately. Mr. Cole told many stories of the difficulty of working with the folks that the Obama administration has sent to save the auto industry. There have been many meetings where this very experienced automotive expert has had to listen to a newcomer to the industry; someone with zero finance experience, zero business experience, zero manufacturing experience, zero auto industry experience, zero engineering experience, and apparently zero brains tell them how to run their business. Mr. Cole's favorite story is as follows: There was a team of Obama people speaking to Mr. Cole. They were explaining to Mr. Cole that the auto companies needed to make a car that was electric and natural gas (LNG) with enough combined fuel to go 500 miles, so we wouldnt "need" so many gas stations (a whole other topic). They were quoting BTU's of LNG and battery life they had looked up on some website. Mr. Cole explained that to do this you would need a trunk FULL of batteries and a LNG tank as big as a car to make that happen. And that there were problems related to the laws of physics that prevented them from... The Obama person interrupted and said (and I am quoting here), "These laws of physics? Whose rules are those? We need to change that (while others wrote down the name of the law so they could look it up later). We have the Congress, and the administration. We can repeal that law, amend it, or use an executive order to get rid of that problem. That's why we are here, to fix these sorts of issues." My friends... we are screwed...
