    black scar

a black 17s makes me very happy
  3. guess ill go out on a limb here and vote for the defender
  4. dry firing is usually not bad depending on gun, but I personally dont pull the trigger, no need to IMO.
  5. sorry. however the first paragraph in your last post had a link comparing 6.5, 6.8, 7.62nato, and 5.56nato. i incorrectly thought that you were thinking 7.62nato when i said x39. my mistake. i know it came across as such but I didnt mean to insinuate that you didnt know the difference between nato and x39. more of this is what i meant and this is what you said. my apologies.

would love to have a black one but not for $10k
  7. yes, the downfall to 7.62x39mm is for one the main platform, the inaccurate AK-47 and two the lack of good ammo. If there were more match-grade ammo out the for 7.62x39mm it would be more comparable. btw, 7.62x51mm is 7.62NATO not 7.62x39mm
  8. an AR in 7.62x39mm is a oxymoron. take a clean accurate rifle and chamber it in the dirtiest least accurate semiauto rifle cartridge available, brilliant. 6.5 is just another wildcat. 6.5 does not match 6.8 performance under 300 yards out of a 16" barrel. the 6.8 was DESIGNED to be fired from a 16" or shorter barrel, like the common AR. yes 6.5 does surpass the 6.8 IF you are shooting past 300yards and can have a longer barrel like 20-24"+ barrel. 6.5 should not even be considered for anything but a DMR. 6.8SPC should be your only consideration for a high-capacity CQB-type rifle. if high-capacity isnt a concern, definetely consider .458SOCOM. and yes .458SOCOM is better than .50beowulf or if you are concerned about picking up ammo and mags in post-SHTF/TEOTWAWKI, get 5.56nato
  9. I would reccommend a AR-10 in .308Win. But in an AR-15 6.8SPC would be the best.
  10. Id like to see hats, T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, HOODIES, patches, and button-down shirts(short and long sleeved). Maybe make the button shirts similar to the 5.11 tactical ones that are cut a little long to help conceal a handgun.
  11. the most valuable thing to have in post-SHTF is knowledge and the ability to apply it. for material things however, food is at the top of the list, along with water and a way to purify it. protection is also important, but not excessive. one pistol and one rifle will suffice. 2 sources of transportation is also important. gold and silver is for preservation of wealth and will be virutally useless post-SHTF keeping your mind right will me one of the best things you can do.
  12. stick to your original plans, firmly. DO NOT add or change along the way, subs jack the price up exponentially when you start making changes, it costs 3x+ the amount of time and money. check out DirectBuy you can save lots of money that way. trust me on that. Anything special you want to incorporate into the home, let all related sub contractors know BEFORE they start.
  13. x1000000! 98% of professional contractors/sub-contractors HATE Home Depot and Lowes! for anything
  14. for a revolver look at a SW 617 or model 17 in in double action or a ruger single six in single action for a semi-auto look at a ruger mark II or III either in regular or 22/45 version or a browning buckmark. I had a mark3 22/45 and loved it. It shot anything you fed it and was quite accurate with federal bulk pack.
  15. whoops! missed the fact that you bought one. they are beautiful. let us know how it shoots and everything
  16. I have wanted one in black for a while now. I have read of a sloppy/loose trigger though.
  17. HK USP series Beretta PX4 series Beretta 92/M9 FN FNP series HK HK45 HK P30 Sig P226
  18. caliber first. then it has to fit my hand. then reliability. then looks. I also pick one for what purpose it will serve. a carry gun would be much different than a truck gun or a home defense gun.
  19. could be an ATF agent. when i had a glock for sale on here i had a guy from NYC try to buy the gun from me and have me ship it to him if he gave me an extra $500 for my troubles. smelled bad to me, not to mention illegal.
  20. guess i should have separated the "sentences" as they are separate thoughts. the point i meant to get across is that if it is all mechanically controlled, it doesnt matter if its gas or diesel it will still run. if it is electronically controlled, it doesnt matter if its gas or diesel it will be disabled.
  21. If its all mechanical, it would still operate.
  22. a bug-out vehicle (BOV), is dependent on what you specific needs may be because of whatever the situation may be. you might need a : cargo van or passenger van to transport relatively large amounts of people or concealed cargo at one time. ex., Chevy Express van or Ford E-series or similar fuel efficient car to get out of town on regular roadways and go as far as possible on as little fuel as possible. ex., Honda Civic, Toyota Camry, or other small 4cyl powered economy car with approx 30+mpg. modified with either a larger fuel tank or an auxillary fuel tank as vented fuel cans are unsafe in the passenger compartment and screams steal me if you mount them outside. fast car if for some reason you might need to get away from someone or something really fast and have roads. ex., corvette, camaro, mustang, muscle car, or basically anything modified performance-wise. off-road capable 4x4 truck/SUV to take you off the beaten path and be able to carry "some" cargo. ex., K-5 Blazer, Ford Bronco, 4x4 full-size truck, or similar. dirt-bike if you need maneuverability and relatively high speed off-road. ex., Honda other popular serviceable dirt bike. street bike if you need maneuverability and high speed on roadways to weave in and out of traffic etc. ex. popular sport bike (crotch rocket) or even a cruiser (Harley-type) will work. extra gas on board if possible. or maybe something else suits your situation better? remember to always keep whatever you use in top mechanical condition and at least enough fuel handy to make it to your BOL (bug-out location). you need somewhere to go BEFORE you leave. EMP proof or resistant is to be taken into consideration. mechanical fuel injection or carburetor and mechanical igniton is needed.
  23. to whoever said that " a diesel is EMP-proof" is misinformed. EMP takes out all electronics to speak of. gas or diesel doesnt matter if its all mechanically controlled. however the diesel does excel in the fact that it can burn multiple fuels.
