The outpost has a billboard on I24 about the M9A3 being born and raised in TN. Haven't seen one in person to verify the rollmark though.

Will sig sights fit a beretta 96?
nightrunner replied to Cookies's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I'm 99% sure they won't fit but what do they do that Trijicon or any other quality manufacturer of night sights don't already do? -
Not exactly. I saw posted on one of the 1911 forums that it uses modified PPQ mags made by MecGar. Development was done with help from Walther USA, which evidently is close to Wilsons shop. Early prototypes were done using Beretta 92 mags but were later changed to PPQ mags.

TODAY: CTD BREAKS $300 BRASS 5.56
nightrunner replied to Old Mitch's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
My memory is good. I remember what CTD has done before. This doesn't make up for it. -
Terry's use to be the same way. I haven't been in years so it may have changed.

How is this anymore extravagant than any other Wilson Combat custom 1911? All their 1911s are in this price range or more. I personally can't afford one, but can certainly appreciate the time and effort that went into it. Quality cost money. How nice are you willing to spend?

Serbu RN-50. 17lbs. $1200. Single shot break action. http://www.serbu.com/rn-50-break-action-50-bmg.html Sorry but I don't think you will find an accurate and affordable bolt action .50BMG.

As a side note. If you don't want the weight and bulk of quad rails, but also don't want your rifle looking like industrial shelving, look into MLOK. Modular and can add rail sections or attachment points like Keymod but looks MUCH better.

The thing is, is a quality firearm is a quality firearm. It's not going to automatically be cheaper just because it's a .22lr. Quality .22s aren't airsoft quality or priced accordingly. Having said that, I, personally, won't step below Ruger on the quality scale for revolvers. A SP101 or Bearcat won't be super cheap but you will get your money's worth. S&Ws are more expensive but you get even more gun for your money IMO. Colts are just ridiculously priced IMO. For a semi auto, hard to beat a Ruger Mark or Browning Buckmark. For a polymer pistol, I can't recommend the S&W M&P22 Compact enough. Perfect IMO.

We all make choices in life... Make the right ones
nightrunner replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
I miss the old days when the commies were all you had to hate. -
Military Arms Channel on YouTube tried some, several boxes, and it jammed in every gun he tried it in and he has ALOT of guns.

This was the exact picture I had in my head when I read the thread title. Pure gold.

Some striker fired systems are different. Most are a partially pre cocked striker. A couple exceptions are the P99 as previously mentioned and the XD is a true single action striker fired as opposed to the Glock. Others may be different as well.

Looking for an electric or gas pellet smoker. Had a charcoal one that somehow walked off in the middle of the night. Looking at options. Looking at under $500 budget.

There are a few areas (other states) where they have "primitive firearm season" instead of muzzleloader season. I believe those allow a single shot firing a cartridge made before 1900 or was originally black powder. For most though it's like the difference between a single action revolver and a double action, some just prefer the feel and nostalgia. Some, myself included, when hunting non dangerous game for sport, feel a single shot rifle is more sporting than a repeater. Just different strokes for different folks.

Cars are built as cheap as possible now. And they aren't built to be fixed or worked on by the consumer. As long as it lasts past the warranty period is all that matters anymore. Sad but true.

The Sig still has its traditional high bore axis even though its striker fired and doesn't need to be. The M&P 1.0 had several issues that popped up over its lifespan. To my knowledge, the 2.0 has corrected all of them. It still benefits from an aftermarket trigger like anything else. But once that is done, I don't think another polymer striker 9 can beat it. Sig won the contract because of the perceived need of modularity, which I think is highly over exaggerated, and the fact that Sig is one of the best companies at securing government contracts.

Saw a report where they just cancelled their clone of Amazon Prime, $50 a year for free 2 day shipping. Now it's just straight 2 day shipping on any order over $35, supposedly. I hate Walmart just as much as Amazon. I still use Amazon though as it's the best online shopping unless I'm missing out on something else. I will be watching this thread for other suggestions. Pretty sure Amazon supports gay marriage too for those that it matters to.

Lol! I checked Salients prices when they were new to the market. Their Tier 1 was around $2000-2500 plus base gun on Glocks. Not counting the RMR or weaponlight. So more like 10-15x the price.

Springer Precision has a Dawson Precision front tritium night sight for use with the factory rear. As far as I know, no one makes a rear night sight. http://shop.springerprecision.com/product.sc?productId=166&categoryId=36

Oh I want that KAC, not really digging the VP9 but that KAC is awesome!

I would have suggested Redwing. They have a store in Smyrna and I assumed it was like anywhere else. Pick out the boot you want then order it in a 14D, my size. They had that size in every boot there. Mine are lace up but I really like them. i have had Ariat pull ons in the past and were satisfied. Not a lineman but was a residential electrician and Ariats served me well.

At least the Marines went with the G19. I have to wonder about several aspects of this. From talking to many service members, in all branches, being issued a handgun isn't nearly as common as it use to be. Right now you aren't allowed to make any modifications to your weapon, it's done in the armory. Now all of a sudden they want this modular grip? I can see it as part of the SOCOM kit but not for standard GI. Thumb safety has no place. If you can't trust someone not to have an AD/ND with a 5 lb trigger, they shouldn't have possession of a pistol in the first place. ill be honest, I seriously doubt the long term reliability of this pistol. If nothing else, Sig just got a whole lot of beta testers.

Manual frame mounted Thumb safety on the military version.
