  1. yes, we should all just carry Desert Eagles every day, in our pockets of course as to not upset the sheeple.
  2. and here all this time I thought I'd never have to read about the R-word again (OP) Id rather have a duplicate thread than revive one of his. and to have a little bit of on-topic in this post, IMO the most useless gun would have to be the Swiss mini-gun SwissMiniGun Arme Miniature Miniature Arms
  3. I have heard that its not the best with long turnaround times, however that is just internet hearsay as I have no experience with them.
  4. New England Firearms makes a good shotgun. try the Ruger Red Label for a O/U personally I'd choose a Remington 870 Wingmaster but thats just me
  5. IMO, its not too small for most circumstances, however I prefer a bit larger cartridge IN MOST CASES. chose the right tool for the job, IMO
  6. .40S&W(short & weak) was made because pansies couldnt handle the full-power 10mm
  7. another thought would be to get some solar panels for the primary backup power source and use the generator only when you lose the solar power. might need a battery bank for it though, I havent really looked into it seriously
  8. now that is cool, just not cool enough for me to buy
  9. try replacing the GFCI receptacle with a standard outlet.
  10. nightrunner

    Is it just me?

Its all dependent on the shooters perspective. example, at one time I had a XD-45, H&K USP-40, and a S&W Sigma in 9mm. I shot the XD-45 the best out of them all and a buddy of mine at the time shot the USP the best. IMO, it has to do as much with the platform fitting the hand of the shooter as it does the cartridge its firing.
  11. also known as .45colt its what the Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is commonly chambered in. fwiw
  12. situational awareness I always carry a knife and considered getting a sharpened titanium "credit card" for places you cant carry a knife.
  13. I handled one at hero-gear. it may be something that you like but to me it felt very cheap, i had seen them in pics and thought they looked cool but have absolutely no desire for one now after holding one. YMMV
  14. I dont have any experience with it but ive read that the .460 will shoot flat out to 200yards (no hold over)
  15. I would pick either the .44mag on bottom end and .500mag on top end, in between I'd choose the .454casull, .460S&W, .45colt, or even the .475 or .500 Linebaugh practicality goes to the .44mag, with the right platform, It can do EVERYTHING from concealed carry with proper holster with .44spl all the way to all out hunting any game animal in north america aside from the aforementioned elk, grizzly, moose. everything else is game for the .44mag and I wouldnt hesitate to take a elk or moose if I were close enough with a .44 depending on what you are hunting I'd probably go with either a .44mag or a .45colt loaded really hot in a redhawk or similar
  16. sounds like a clogged orfice tube or low freon level
  17. And why is that? Should I take everything a certain person says as truth? NO and I wont. To me, he is just another man with more knowledge and experience than me. Whenever I meet or read about someone like that, I listen to what they are saying but I also apply common sense to it. I read all the major gun magazines and listen to what they have to say but if a well known writer like Massad Ayoob or Elmer Keith or Jeff Cooper or whoever says for me to do something that goes against all common sense, like wait for a bad guy to shoot my kids in the other rooms and then come and shoot me and my wife, they're stupid not me. I dont listen to and do what any one person tells me, no matter how much or what kind of experience they have under their belt.
  18. I would suggest getting a higher quality unit than harbor freight, I had a unit from walmart and it messed up first time I used it. found a good one at tractor supply but never got it. dont have room to carry it in my camaro now like i did in my truck. you will want a 600amp+ jump starter. some have air compressors for flat tires made into the unit also, and some include AC/DC converters
  19. "I'll shoot you with a plastic bullet shot from my plastic gun!" who says plastic is safe... seriously though I'm interested to new technology implemented anywhere it can be in the firearms industry, wondered when complete polymer bullets would emerge after I saw the Hornady polymer-tipped bullets
  20. that has been on their website for about a year or more. it does take HK-propiertary magazines though. HK claims it is because other mags suck and they had to redesign it in order to make it reliable. in other words, we suck and they hate us and some they sell an insanely expensive rifle with proprietary expensive mags.
  21. yep, supposedly effective to 200meters, but its chambered in the same rifles that they use chambering the 5.56x45mmNATO. a side note, the Indian 5.56x30 and the chinese 5.8s are the only military calibers that arent normal calibers aside from 7.65Tokarev and 9x18Mak
  22. just untucking your shirt would be the same as open carrying, not brandishing, fwiw
  23. yall gotta thing bigger and better, mother-in-law's garden is where its at (or rather should be)
