1. I dont think you can make a m1a as accurate as an accurized ar10 for example a Larue Tactical OBR 7.62. I see no reason to get an m1a over an ar10 aside from looks with a walnut stock or to use in a bullpup stock but thats different. The ar10 has better ergonomics, easier mag changes, lighter, more accurate if both models are accurized or high end, easier to clean or disassemble, easier to fix, easier to mount optics, just as reliable, much more customizable. The ar10 is the modern version of the m1a. The m1a was great in its day but if you might need a quick mag change i wouldnt use anything requiring you to tilt or rock the mag in. (Aks and fals included). I also include next gen carbines such as the scar heavy in with "AR10s" but they are quite different from normal ar10s also.
2. Me personally, i think the NFA should regulate machine guns only by registration as it is now but allow newly manufactured ones to be owned by civilians. NFA should also regulate DDs such as explosives but SBRs and SBSs and AOWs and suppressors should not be regulated.
3. As far as multiple 10 rounders vs 1 hi cap mags, id rather have multiple hi caps lol
4. I would suggest an AR AFTER the price gouging dies down. It can do everything. 16" 5.56 upper for home defense, 20"+ .223 upper for varmint hunting, .300blackout upper for hunting deer sized game or self defense, .458socom upper for a real thumper black bear hunting or short range self defense, single shot .50bmg upper for extreme long range/ anti material, .22lr upper for small game, you can even get a .410bore shotgun upper for it
5. Now your crossing the line...
6. I think you would probably need an alibi for that time period of crime but i dunno. Very rare circumstance
7. If you bought a firearm from a ffl, yes there is record of it. But there is nothing requiring you to have a paper trail for private sales and i have a horrible memory. And if you buy from an individual in a private sale, there is no record of that either.
8. Yep .40SW is still available as always. Heck .40SW and .357sig were all that was available during the 2008 shortage. Swore that i would get a 40 for that purpose but still havent done it.
9. On your property and in your vehicle are DIFFERENT in Tennessee according to the law. On your property you can do as you please but in your vehicle is no different than walking down Main St.
10. Not really relating to castle doctrine and i highly advise against it but supposedly if you are involved in an otherwise justified clean self defense shoot, they cant charge you with intent to go armed.
11. Castle doctrine includes your place of residence. NOT your vehicle.
12. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="DarylDixon" data-cid="864512" data-time="1356035509">
How come you hardly see people recommend the XD for situations like this?

Seems that the consensus is that it being made in croatia is worse than the glock being made in Austria
13. Im most likely on every list they have already so im not too worried.
14. In no particular order, Glock17 or 19 S&W 3rd gen auto H&K USP-9 Beretta 92 But id really hate to be stuck with one 9 for the rest of my life
15. I love my galco combat master for my gen4 g19. But i lean more towards a leather holster than a kydex holster.
16. After the first post i was going to suggest looking at a larue obr... Worth the wait imo. If you really are worried, get a dpms 308 for now so you have a 308 semi and sell it when the larue comes in
17. Call me crazy but if someone bought freedom group and dissolved it, it would be a huge blow to the firearms industry. No more: AAC DPMS Bushmaster Remington Marlin Para Ordnance H&R Dakota Arms Tapco accessories Barnes bullets It would be a sad day
18. I hear they are hard on optics. Something about the recoil impulse is brutal. Need extremely tough optics. I would look at the lwrc repr or larue obr or even a new armalite that takes magpul mags
19. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="JWC" data-cid="862562" data-time="1355844336">
Maybe they'll just go after Bushmasters. Maybe just villify and make it out as they are the evil rifles and AR-15's are ok. Bait and Switch. Using the MSM against themselves. Then they can go under and come back with a different name. Another thought I have is to drop the A in AR and just use R-15. When anyone comments refer to your rifle as an R-15, they're nothing like AR-15's. The idiots will never know.

I believe R-15 is owned or at least used by remington for their rifles but they are part of freedom group too so who knows. This could be a good thing if somebody concerned with quality of firearms buys it then we might see a quality marlin made again
20. I carry a g19 owb kinda concealed when appropriate and a p380 in the pocket always. Therefore when i have my g19 i have the p380 in the pocket too. I want to get a 357 jframe for the ankle to supplement it also but havent gotten that far yet
21. IMO storing precious metals isnt about surviving the initial "storm" its about thriving during and after the rebuilding of society.
22. Almost but not quite. That thing was hideous and an abomination
23. Take a .410 shotgun shell and replace the shot with rock salt. Fire it through a shotgun not a judge. It burns and they dont forget it and it wont kill them from a reasonable range.
24. Depends on how long you expect the BOB to last you. I really like the 5.11 tactical rush 72 for a BOB, which would be a 72 hr bag obviously. Any more and you need to find more permanent means of survival.
