    Ok Sig

I had a brand new 232 that could not make it thru a magazine without a FTF or stovepipe. I tried a few boxes of various ammo brands and it didn't make any difference. My first and last Sig. Nice looking pistol though. I don't have much patience for pistols that aren't reliable. I had a used bersa 380 that never had a hiccup.
  3. Ok here is another choice http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/0000383202/22-Winchester-Mag-30-Grain-V-Max-50-Rounds I don't work for midsouth and the last 22 mag I had was a colt new frontier with the mag cylinder.
  4. I wouldn't buy at this price either unless I had no other choice.
  5. Apparently they are still making 22 mag in the Philippines. And midsouth is selling it.http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/00600FAC22M1N/Armscor-Precision-22-Mag-40-Grain-JHP-Box-of-50-Count
  6. Hogs can smell you and hear long before you see them. I tried hunting them at Fort Rucker in Alabama. I walked miles and miles of woods and creek beds and only saw tracks. I was driving a down a gravel road through the training area and I saw a big herd of hogs in the road about 50 yards ahead of me. I stopped my truck and the hogs ran into the woods. I was a little excited so I got out and walked into the woods to see where they went. . I started looking right where they went into woods, there was a dry creek bed right there inside the woods about 30 feet deep. I walked as quiet as I could along the ridge above the creek bed ,at the end of it the creek bed it merged with with another creek bed. And there was this entire herd of hogs wallowing in the mud like it was a resort or something. They did not know I was watching them. One of them was a 3 legged Hampshire farm hog and the others were all completely wild. I stood and realized my bad luck, I had not been hunting that day and did not have gun. So after a little I clapped my hands and yelled and that whole herd went up the opposite side of the creek into woods. I never saw a 3 legged hog move so fast. I went back to that spot a couple times and never saw hogs there again. Most of hogs taken at Rucker were trapped by local contract hunters in big traps baited with corn. Deer hunters got a few too.
  7. I have had the same buddy heater sitting in the house ready to go, I didn't need it so I didn't light it. On second thought I will test it tonight. I have a kerosene heater I sat in the garage and a couple Coleman lanterns and a stove that were ready, maybe I will just test them all in the next couple days. Thanks for your post!
  8. The real test would be if we had a loss of power. But so far so good! And no I don't really want to shut my breakers off today to simulate a power outage! :)
  9. It might still may work out for you. I think GSM can be 2G, 3G or 4G it just depends on your phone. T-Mobile,and ATT are GSM networks. Your cell company can tell you if your phone will still work. They still make plenty of flip phones that will work on the new networks.
  10. Check with your provider to see if your RAZR works on 3G. It might be ok.
  11. If you keep an older flip phone or brick phone to use for emergencies it won't work for much longer. "The Wall Street Journal reports that AT&T has plans to shut down its 2G network by January 1, 2017. Roughly 12% of its contact wireless customers — 8.4 million people — have 2G handsets, and the company plans to gradually move them to devices running on more modern networks. The timeline for the 2G shutdown was made in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday. An AT&T spokesman said the company no longer sells 2G handsets to contract or prepaid customers. Along with phones, the company does have some other devices connected to its 2G networks, but it also expects that they will transition to more modern technology in coming years. As the carriers deal with ever increasing data usage on their networks, they also are facing a spectrum shortage. "
  12. "A Boy and his Dog" starring Don Johnson and Jason Robards. Another vote for "Omega Man"
  13. I enjoyed my visit to the new Bass Pro! I highly recommend that you go on a weekday. I walked through the whole place. There is a cool duck hunting exhibit on the second floor. The elevator ride 25 floors up to the observation deck ( and bar)was worth the $10 to me. I was lucky to get a look at one of their hotel rooms and they are very nice! I hope to spend the night there one of these days. There is a restaurant and bowling alley. I really did not look at merchandise. The truth is if I was going just to shop I would go to the one in Bartlett. The new basspro is an attraction geared for tourists. That said, I liked it and I will be going back:) P.S. It's down town Memphis, so be aware of your surroundings! Don't leave a bunch of guns in your truck window in the rifle rack when you park! :)
  14. Two of my favorites! I would like to read them again. Earth Abides by George R. Stewart, was a good one too. A little dated written in 1949.
  15. Well I did look last night, but sadly no aurora! Hopefully I will see it someday even if I have visit Alaska!
  16. So do you think we might see the aurora borealis yet? No obvious damage to the grid or GPS that I know of. My curiosity was peaked when I saw people posting pictures of the aurora in Pennsylvania and New Hampshire. Supposedly the might possibly be seen as far south as Alabama!
  17. I will be going there soon! Looking forward to checking it out!
  18. You can order new maps every year. I just ordered for Tennessee and Kentucky. I would imagine all 50 states will send you a map from there tourism dept or highway dept. I remember how we would always get a highway map from all the state rest stops. And of course all the oil companies would give you a "free" map if you stopped for gas.
  19. Oh I think the word is spreading on line about the M885 possible ban. Lots of newspaper articles and editorials. The .223 and 5.56 is drying up on line also. I have not been to a Wally World in months and haven't bought ammo there in years. Am I worried? Nope! Having seen so many of these proposed bans and ammo scares come and go I just don't respond to it anymore. And yes I too have a couple air guns! Airgun pellets are still cheap!
