I haven't personally taken one of their classes, but several people at my church have. They all have had nothing but good things to say about them. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Alabama area restaurants
JimmyMac483 replied to tercel89's topic in General Chat
Shrimp Basket and Wintzell's Oyster House are my two favorites in Orange Beach / Gulf Shores. Lulu's was really good too but very over-crowded. -
That is awesome! I was on the hunt for a new book. I'll check it out!

JW is not a bad place to start, but please go for the black label and stay away from the red. JW even admits that it is a mixer. Glenlivet 12 yr and Balvinie 12 yr Doublewood are also good starters. The flavor profiles of scotch vary immensely with different distillers and each region has its own characteristics. I would recommend trying a lot of different types to find out what style you like. There are also tons of resources and reviews online.

The way Speith is playing, it is his tournament to lose.

I have heard rumors the books and show are going to split ways a bit this season. GRRM said there will be surprises this season for both the show watchers and the book readers.

Just because NYPD won't let officers carry Kahr off-duty does not mean it is an unreliable gun. Metro Nashville PD has the same restrictions for several manufacturers including H&K and FN.

Check out Alien Gear Holsters. They have some nice supertuck style IWB holsters in the same price range. I have one on order for my 1911.

Worse for me, by far, is a mistaken bottle of dip spit. Thank god it was my own.

I think that having multiple calibers to shoot at the range is half the fun. I really enjoy shooting less popular calibers and older firearms. I could see a benefit to keeping your personal defense weapons that you are going to practice frequently down to one caliber, but I don't think that I could consolidate my whole collection. Variety is the spice of life!

These look really good and the price is right. I just ordered one for my 1911. Thanks for the recommendation.

Hands down my favorite bottle on the shelf right now.

Welcome from a fellow Frankliner

Thanks a bunch! I'm in Cools Springs so hopefully I will be able to get at least as many as you do. Thanks for the antenna recommendation also!

Has anyone in the Franklin area ditched cable? If so what kind of channels are you getting with an antenna? I am seriously considering making the cut.

Sig Sauer Press Release on the ATF Forearm Brace Ruling
JimmyMac483 replied to JimmyMac483's topic in Handguns
Well, crud. I searched to see if I could find it and must have over looked it. -
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2015/01/foghorn/breaking-statement-sig-sauer-atf-pistol-brace-ruling/ I wonder if an industry powerhouse like Sig can get the ATF to stick to their original ruling.

Prayers coming your way Bersa. I'm glad that they have found a less invasive option to take!

Recommend me an optic for my PWS AR-15
JimmyMac483 replied to bird333's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
The EOTech's will start around $450-$500 https://www.primaryarms.com/EOTech_s/585.htm In the same price range, Aimpoint's are also excellent. https://www.primaryarms.com/Aimpoint_s/582.htm It just depends on what style you prefer. -

If your budget is tight, Primary Arms is a great bang for your buck. Their classic 30 mm red dot is $69.99 with a free mount. I have one on my 300 blk pistol and am really happy with it. https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary_Arms_30mm_Red_Dot_p/primary-arms-30mm-red-dot.htm -
NRA 2015 Annual Meetings and Exhibits, Nashville TN
JimmyMac483 replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I just pre-registered so I'm definitely in. I think that meeting with the NRA leadership is a great idea. I will see if I can come up with some good and original topics. -
Check out www.gunbot.net It searches a bunch of different sites and groups the results by caliber. It is a good way to window shop for a deal and not have to navigate a ton of different sites.

I ordered a GTMU free float quad rail from MAS Defense a few weeks ago. When I went to install it, the set screw that secures the handguard to the barrel nut would not break loose. I ended up rounding out the hex head and had to use an extractor to get the dang screw out. I think that it was either severely over tightened from the factory or cross-threaded. I called MAS Defense and let them know what happened. They offered to put a new set screw in the mail at no charge. This is the second time that I have ordered from them. They have good prices, fast shipping, great customer service!

I am definitely interested in one. Maybe more if multiple sizes are available.
