  1. Wow, you really do live in a small world.  Those re-inforced cock pit doors are laughable.   Well let me ask you a simple question.  A 31 year old woman comes through and her Carry  Luggage has a Gift pack, completely wrapped with a seal The package consists of Summer Sausage, a little Cheese and a few other items.  Her daughter is carrying an unopened gift pack of  various codiiments, in the form of Black Pepper. Sea Salt, Cumin, Chile Powder etc.   The next woman in lines has a Bag containing tootbrush, toothpaste, a small bottle of tooth picks.   The fourth woman in line has a dirty pair of Tennis Shoes with old laces.   The man in the group has a metal flask that carries less than the "3.4 ounce restriction.   Would you stop them, or let 'em go?   You would be a  fool to allow that combination on an airplane, or any building   That situation could have ended in yet anoter city but it wasn't  TSA stopped it..
  2. Won't happen little boy.
  3. Make no mistake. I am not a FAN of the TSA. I don't fly.  If I travel to San Francisco, or Washington DC, or Seattle, or Houston, I ride.  But your remarks are so fucking stupid you really need to have a background check about your mental issues..   I'm done with a bunch of lame ass whiners and snivelers that don't have a clue about what the real world is like..  Send me a message and i'll give you my address and invite you to change my ....attitude.
  4. And yet, the Shoe & Underwear Bombers came from abroad.  TSA is successful.  There has not be a single plane hijacked and crashed into a building since they have been around. It is the same old crap.  When a weapon is used to save lives, it rarely gets any attention.  When it is used to take lives, everyone hears about it. It's on every news Channel, and in in every liberal politicians rant about ridding us of our guns.  When TSA keeps a plane safe, no one hears about it.  But, God Forbid, another one gets hijacked, you will know.  Same old story. When they do good, no one remembers, when they do bad, no one forgets. They even make up crap.   Stop blaming TSA, they do the job they are hired to do.  There are many reasons why very few airports go to "Private" Companies.  There are just as many as why they often go back to TSA.  There is an option to go to private security.  Few do, and when they do, some go back to TSA.  But no matter what, the private companies are still required to follow the DHS/TSA SOP.   The training may not be as good. I do not know for sure.  And private means the airlines, airports and security companies get the blame for everything.  THEY mostly prefer the Government to get the blame.   You want to start a different thread on this, I'll be glad to answer questions to the best of my ability, and to the best of my allowance.  But it would be better served to let this thread go back to it's original topic.
  5.   Could it possibly have something to do with a 34 year old male super glueing a Ceramic Chef knife way up high in his inner thigh?
  6.   That is the problem.  You don't even know why the screening process is the way it is.    TSA is reactionary.  They have to adapt to previous circumstances.  Every stupid rule, and grope on your little balls is because someone gave them a reason to need to. You have no idea what has been found in Diapers. Here's a hypothetical situation on an old woman screening.  Suppose one put a North American Arms 22 revolver in her hairbun. Would you believe for split second that she "forgot" it was there?  Would you believe she just wanted it for her "personal protection"?  'Course you wouldn't see that on the news if it happened.  Nor would you see a diaper with a bag of flamable liquids on the news either. If it had happened.   Are you really so naive that you cannot figure this out on your own?    TSA is not my hero's.  If they let me do things my way.  I would ask a passenger if they were armed.  If they said no, I would point to a rack of pistols and say pick one.
  7. "TSA hasn't succeeded in doing anything any better than previous airport security was doing." Do you mean the type that did so well on the morning of 9/11/2001?   "You make it sound like everything is top secret, yet the famous shoe bomber and underwear bomber was shouted from the rooftops....but they got on the planes anyway didn't they?" Yep, both on Airplanes.  Robert Reed put a bomb in his shoe and boarded a plane in Paris. The underwear bomber was Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, and he boarded in Amsterdam.  TSA does not screen in Paris, France nor in Amsterdam.   You guys sound like a New York Governor.  Blame Blame Blame.  Remember who you're mad at.
  8. And yet, not one single plane has been hijacked and flown into a building killing thousands since they were formed.  Money well spent, I think.   If you had a clue what really goes on, you would just bow down and quietly say 'sorry'.  You have no idea what happens that you, nor the press, nor that idiot Rand Paul never get to hear about.  TSA is tested constantly, by their own, and those that want to do harm.  But you'll never hear that on the news.  Most people wouldn't go near an airport if they knew.   No, as a matter of fact, I do not work for the TSA and never have.  But I know of things you don't.
  9. You can find a current list here.   or at this URL http://www.ncgunblog.com/new-york-boycott/
  10. I like that!  At my brother's funeral in 1991, I was confronted about my love of guns.  I asked the women if she agreed with the 37th Amendment or is she supporting the Government's attempt at regulating books.   37th Amendment: A well stocked library, being necessary to the education of a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books, shall not be infringed.   She was appauled that she had not heard of the Government trying to regulate books.  She was ready to start a letter writing campaign to her Representatives.   What surprised me most, was she didn't even question the "37th" Amendment.   I showed her my wallet card with the words of the Second Amendment, she actually acted like I had changed her mind a little on Gun Control.   This Woman, now retired, was a Psychologist in Napa, CA.  and worked at the Napa State Hospital.  She is my Aunt.
  11. Thanks for the welcome Glockmeister. I've been around for several years, but mostly lurking. I guess I didn't express it correctly. I had always planned on voting for Haslam, even though I was not comfortable with the Pilot employees circumstances, and I was under the impression as Mayor, he was against the "guns in parks" legislation. I just didn't realize how anti McWherter was until a few days before the election when I saw him on TV, whining about Haslam and his view on Alaska/Vermont/Arizona style carry. The only true 2nd Amendment style. When I saw that, I assumed the Gun Issue was a bigger part of his huge loss.
  12. How negative could it have been? The truth is, Bill Haslam beat anti gun Mike McWherter almost 2 to 1. 1,041,576 to 529,983 While there were many other issues the Gun issue was no small factor in his win.
  13. I read the bill and it looks like it is scheduled to take effect July 1st. Is that wrong?
  14. After reading all the posts about wait times and calls about the timeline from application to receipt, I decided to try something. Since I already have two other Permits, when I went to get a TN permit, it was basically a renewal. And I was legal to keep carrying anyway, so there was no hurry. I submitted application on March 10. I waited 91 days, June 9, and called. The lady was very nice. It was magically issued that day and was told it would arrive in 7-10 days. It arrived in 9 days, June 18, for a total of 99 Days. I am reasonably sure that the call on the 91st day sped it up, otherwise I might still be waiting.
