  1. Good idea Mike357. I am a girl scout leader, and I think that would be an excellent thing to add to our meetings.
  2. I always leave 1 mag loaded with hp and place it in my pocket. This is usually the one that was in my gun to start with. When I get home, I unload those hp rounds into an empty mag and do the switcheroo. Probably more trouble than its worth, but I've always shot this way. Kinda my own rotation system.
  3. My alter ego: Jak Fiddler. My nieces call me Uncle Jak.
  4. I gonna offer $35 a gun and see if I get something cool.
  5. My daughter is in the 1st grade and says it every morning at school. I believe in the real America, the one the pledge is written about/for.

  9. Bill Murray (in zombieland) Bill Murray (in ghostbusters) Bill Murray (in groundhog day)
  10. Taking a chance I might sound dumb....What is a IDPA match? If it is shooting, I'm sure I would like it.
  11. It is the "plainly visible" part that I have a problem with. I don't believe a "average person" can see signs like the ones in question. At the mall, the little gunbuster symbol is so small. I only noticed it one day when there was some traffic and my wife was driving. Small signs aren't sufficient (in my opinion) to be seen by regular people.
  12. For my carry weapon, I use all JHP. BUT, in my AK I alternate between hollows and regulars. I don't really know why, I just did it that way. Seemed like a good idea at the time...
  13. The mall at Rivergate is kinda the same way. They have teeny tiny signs as you drive in, but I've entered thru department stores that aren't posted. They are probably technically allowed to post that way, but it is very misleading. Obviously their intent is for you not to carry, but like was said above, a ER is not the type of place where people are thinking clearly in a true emergency. P.S. I never shot anyone at a ER or mall
  14. The badge is actually from Hendersonville TN. He started in 1972 and had to retire due to nerve damage in 1999. That plus his military service put him about 2 years shy of full retirement. Instead he had to get disability. So, the gun reminds me of his "better days"
  15. Made me want to share mine. S&W 15-3 38 special. It belonged to dad. I wanna get a nice display to put it in with the badge and stuff... [/img]
  16. The metal tiles where for a decorative wall splash. Only the tile cut me. I had a screwdriver in my hand but it was just the tile. I still don't know how I did it, but I guess I have talent.
  17. Those are real cool. My dad gave me his old S&W 38 special. He had bought it from his dept. when they upgraded to semis. I not sure of the year, but he started in 1972. Mine and your guns have some value, but the real value lies in the sentimental value. Thanks for sharing.
  18. All you need is the sign "Guns don't kill people, I kill people".
  19. Cut mine off year and a half ago. Here is a pic after it was put back on. I still cannot bend it all the way down, but have re-learned to pull a trigger. I also lost feeling on one side of it. I was a butcher at the time, but cut it off doing metal tile work in my bathroom.[/img]
  20. I used to live in Chattanooga and Eastgate would definitely convince anyone to carry. Interesting that Northgate has fallen into that category.
  21. When I renewed my HCP via mail, I received the "old" style. If I had gone to the DMV, I would have gotten the "new" style. I was in the time period of transitioning to the new ones. I kinda like the old one and am glad that is what I got.
  22. Thanks for the suggestions! We will be going out again this weekend to handle all of the above mentioned. I have a feeling he would grow accustomed to any weight, but don't want to make it too difficult. He has shot his mothers Walther sp22 and did great with it. I would just get him one of those, but he really wants a revolver. It seems that the revolvers are weighted differently than semi autos. If anyone else has other suggestions, please let me know. I plan on making a day of trying guns out so the more the merrier.
  23. Greetings!
  24. The chore boy is funny, but the shoestring that is referenced as a "machine gun" is hilarious.
