My dad had this happen with his Beretta while cleaning. Luckily no one was hurt, but he certainly had a reminder in safety. Glad your safe!

I have stepped on a lot of snakes. I might need to look into getting some of the gaiters or boots. For some reason I cannot see a snake until I am literally right on top of it.

I saw something on channel 4 about a lock that teachers can place on a door to make it un-openable. I'm all for it. It is not a all-in-one solution, but it is a good start.
