  1. It got cancelled a few days ago.
  2. As far as shooting them, as long as the barrels aren't bulged or horribly pitted I don't think there would be any issues. I had a 90+ year old J. Stevens Arms & Tool co. Single shot and shot low brass shells out of it.
  3. @ leroy This year's match is March 28th.
  4. Are they 2-3/4 or 3" chambers? I have two 94s and have thought about doing pretty much the same thing to one of them. It looks like most all of the specialty turkey loads are 3 or 3-1/2" now and both of mine are 2-3/4. The outside diameter of the barrel needs to be .850 to be threaded for screw-in chokes. Both of mine pattern good at 30-40 yards so I decided for this season at least to keep them like they are and see how they do if ol' Tom sticks his head out. The one local gunsmith that I know of that threads them charges more for that than I paid for the gun. Sumtoy customs down in GA has the best prices on threading barrels.

  6. There are two or three in the Crossville area that should be starting up soon. There's a pretty good sized one at the Cherry Creek fire dept. in White county. Celina and Byrdstown have them as well.
  7. If I've thought the Sparta gun show had really gone down hill, going to the one in Carthage was a complete and total waste of gas, money, and time. Nothing at all interesting in there and $8 to get in.   Note to self: never again.
  8. This show is going downhill fast. It was practically empty this morning, I think I spent more time looking at knives and fishing lures than I did guns.
  9. a T/C Hawken .54 lately? Been to a lot of local guns shows, pawn shops, and gun stores and had no luck. What wasn't rusted and pitted had been drilled for scopes.
  10. Where is the range at and what distances?
  11. I went, $8.00 to get in the door, supposed to be good for both days. Waste of gas, money, and time. Most interesting thing I saw was zombie t-shirts. I bought one for me and one for my wife. Saw a CVA Hawken for $100.00 that had been cleaned properly and wasn't rusted out, would have bought it if it had been .54 or .45 instead of .50.
  12. The only interesting thing I saw was a Cumberland county built longrifle, had a wonderful BBQ sandwich at a stand down from the complex. Other than that it was pretty much a waste of time.
  13. The good shows have been the mid-March and mid-September shows that have been going on there for years. The others that have started recently cost more to get into and there's been less stuff to see.
  14. It's pretty telling when even the bad show in Sparta is better than the gun show in Cookeville. The bad one in Sparta is the 14-15th of this month. The one in Crossville is little better than the one in Cookeville. I was there yesterday, it was even worse than the last one. The only gun I was really interested in was way overpriced.
