  1. Did anybody go to the Appleseed Shoot in Kingsport this past weekend? How was it? I wanted to go up there, but once again work got in the way.
  2. I've never seen an indoor range that allows any rifle other than rimfire of pistol-caliber carbine. I wonder if that is what they mean?
  3. Thanx.
  4. I've thought about using Dinzag, but I'm curious what a smith would charge me to just do it. Dinzag is top-notch....got his conversion kit in my Saiga (which is the rifle waiting for the barrel threading).
  5. Anybody know of someone in the Knoxville area that can thread an AK barrel for me? Thanx.
  6. Buy the Steyr.

    Upper advice for AR

Keep an eye on Armalite at www.armalite.com. They run some great web specials on their uppers.
  8. I have one of the Hi-Point 9mm carbines and really like it for plinking. The solution to the "god-awful ugly" issue is to buy a ATI replacement stock for around $50 that makes the carbine look similar to the Beretta. There is also a guy on ebay that sells aluminum barrel shrouds that also will dress it up a little. I've never gotten an after-market mag to feed right, so stick with factory mags.
  9. If you want to order one, check www.classicarms.us
  10. I'm putting together parts for a build too. What's wrong with a DPMS parts? Also, anyone have an opinion on a Doublestar parts kit?
  11. I got a Doublestar stripped lower for $112 OTD from a dealer at the Knoxville show this weekend. I guess the sale price was around $93 ++.
  12. Well, I went today....and it was packed. I snagged a DoubleStar stripped lower for $112 OTD, so I guess it was priced around $93 or so. There was also a guy selling Sigmas for $309. I didn't see any great ammo deals. but then again I never do. I picked up a few mags and some AR/ AK parts, but nothing major. Overall, the funshow was decent.
  13. As a new TN resident, today I turned in the renewal forms to get the TN permit (I have a valid VA carry permit). The friendly DoS folks told me I needed a separate photo. Maybe it just depends on which station you go to.
  14. Well, technically I'm in Alcoa. Thanks for the welcomes.
  15. Hi Guys- Greetings from the newest newbie. I'm new to Knoxville and just found this forum. I look forward to hanging out here.
