  1. I always tell them. Only had a problem once but wasn't disarmed and I didn't get a ticket. He was just a jerk or trying to see if I was intoxicated. It's going to be easier in the long run to just tell them up front. All but the jerk thanked me for telling them and were very professional.
  2. I have a pointy stick in the yard,if you're ever in the Knoxville area, you're welcome to try it. I think any caliber is better than no gun at all.
  3. I'd go Springfield or Colt for under a grand. Every recent Colt I have shot has been top notch. Over a grand I'd probably go with Springer,Colt ,or Dan Wesson. I've yet to shoot a Kimber that impressed me.
  4. Kentucky should be no issue at all. Ohio is supposed to be good too. I've never had a problem in either and I've driven that route more times than I can count.
  5. Clarkston (Oakland county) I left in '84. Moved back in '94. Sure went to hell fast. I left in '99. Doubt ill ever live there again. I need to go back and see family. Last time I was there was December of '10
  6. I never go anywhere without my Surefire back up. Ever! The ex and I got locked in the Alcoa Wally World a few years ago during a storm when the power went out. They rushed us up front on the PA and then wouldn't let us out. I informed them they could let us out or I would let us out. I informed them it would be cheaper to let us out if THEY opened the door than if I did, they immediately saw my logic and opened the door.
  7. I think you'll be ok. I'm actually surprised to see how pro gun Michigan has become. I never thought I'd see the day. I left in '99 because of their anti gun BS.
  8. I think he got lucky. I don't think many courts would give you a chance like that.
  9. From what I've heard about ORPD, I'm not surprised by this.
  10. You can find Cor bon and Buffalo Bore at places like Bass Pro and Cabelas but that's about it.
  11. Too much time or money. I'd leave it. Adds character. Unless your going to hang it over the fireplace.
  12. I like 45 colt over 44 mag all day long but the 44 has it beat for availability. You may find 45 cowboy loads at the store but finding the loaded at 44 mag performance not so likely.
  13. Best of luck! It's tough out there.
  14. Good thing about 44 mag is,if you're in BFE, Bob's hardware, booze, video, and Laundromat Is gonna probably have a couple boxes on the shelf.
  15. Ruger ,S&W,Colt Anaconda, or something from one of the custom makers. I would probably recommend a Marlin Lever gun in 45/70. No way I'd want to be face to face with a Grizzly holding a Taurus ,Rossi,or Charter Arms in my hand.
  16. Yep,he's pretty much nailed it. I use sea foam or ATF (marvel mystery oil) in my fuel to decarbon the valves occasionaly but that's it. Anything heavier than fuel will break up carbon. Additives for anything else are a waste. My buddy has wasted a small fortune on STP over the years but what do I know. I'm just a mechanic. I just laugh and let him waste his money.
  17. So your objective is to replace BHO with someone just as bad as long as they have an ® after their name. Yeah, that makes sense. About as much sense as ouur current drug policy that wastes billions of dollars and accomplishes absolutely nothing.
  18. I love my loaded champion but I'd like to have a ruger. Getting tired of waiting for the ruger though. If they don't get in gear soon, ill be getting a RO or a colt to fill my need for a full size 1911.
  19. I agree. Ruger in 44 or 45 colt. Ammo is cheaper and easier to find. I hunt with a colt anaconda in 45 colt and its way more than enough.
  20. I'd go with the Sig p238 or Colt mustang. Both excellent. You get what you pay for. You want a cheap fire extinguisher when your house catches fire? Bills outpost and sevier indoor range are gonna have best prices and selection around these parts. I'd highly recommend sevier indoor range for 380 selection. Great guys worth the drive.
  21. Hello and welcome! Glad to have you here! Nice to see all the Blount county folks!
  22. I went this morning. I was sadly disappointed. Prices seemed jacked way up. Figured it was holiday greed. This show has become a big disappointed in general over the years. It used to be great. Its going to be a long time before I go back.. other customers were great in line and by front door but most vendors were jerks of just flat out bull****ters.
