  1. OS is, as usual correct.  TCA 39-17-1307e provides a narrow exception for HCP holders, but only relates to transportation in a privately-owned vehicle.
  2. Probably has some impact on the increased rates.     TWRA isn't funded through tax dollars, just by the sale of hunting/fishing licenses.  The rules and regs are a mix of legislative intervention, and rulings from the board.     I really don't agree with how they have handled the hog issue, but I am also not sure about how widespread the problem really is.
  3. Another vote for Tandy.  They have a large selection of hides, tools, etc.  I haven't looked all that closely, but their in store prices seem to be in-line with their web pricing  You can find better deals online, but hard to beat them for on-site selection and pricing.     It may be worth checking with Pine Needle Upholstery in Dickson.
  4. I especially like the axe cover and strike guard.  Very cool.
  5. If you are looking for a DIY solution, you can try the Kaizen Foam.  The Woodcraft in Franklin usually has some in stock, or has in the past.  My results haven't been as nice as these, but a huge improvement over the pull-out cubes.
  6. Nice pick up.
  7. ^ This   I believe this occurred at the plaza, but both LP and the Capitol are posted LEO carry only and the entrances have checkpoints and metal detectors.  He probably cleared it with THP, but Article 2 Section 13 of the state constitution pretty much covers him.
  8. Amen!
  9. If that is the best rant you can come up, you will never get any warning points.     Well said, BTW.  There are several times I wish I had taken a breath before hitting the "Post" button.
  10. I didn't listen to all of the testimony, but I think legislative intent would cover that.
  11. That pretty much sums it up.
  12. Yes.  That may be the only chance you have to get Constitutional Carry into law.  It would have to be carefully drafted, and would take years to accomplish.
  13. They are about the same price wise.     I haven't really looked recently, but Outpost did have several different models mounted on "blue gun" stocks so that you could get a little better idea of eye relief, etc.  But their prices are nearly full MSRP, and they haven't had much interest in discounting when I asked.     Franklin has a good optics (and everything else) selection, but they push having their armorer mount and boresight.  They seem to the cater to a more full-service clientele.
  14. Outpost and Franklin Gun Shop have the best selections I have seen around the Nashville area.
  15. As stated, Hozzie said, try A&H.  Reloader's Bench in Mt Juliet may have what you are looking for, but I would call first.       They are pretty common around here, especially 209s.
  16. My wife and I have both given to BBBSoMT in the past, and they are a great organization to work with.  We give to a lot of charities, but this is one of our favorites.  They want/need your financial support, but seem to be more appreciative if you are willing to donate your time.
  17. I want to save/invest enough money to ensure that I am never a burden to anyone, and I want to make sure that my niece and nephews have an opportunity for a college education.  I am pretty close to have having that covered.   Otherwise, let the chips fall where they may.  Towanda!
  18. Thanks OS.  I wasn't even thinking about current models.
  19. I would still stick with the Marlin 336, but a budget AR or AK would be great choices as well.     Just to save a few bucks, you can look for a Glenfield Model 30A.  They usually run about 25-30% less than the Marlin equivalents.  The stocks aren't as nice, but that shouldn't matter for a truck gun.
  20. Very cool.
  21. I wouldn't go with the youth model, but a 336 is a great option.  .30-30 is more than enough for deer sized game out to 200yrds, especially with some of the modern rounds.   I personally prefer the Winchester 94 because is it lighter and slimmer, but the Marlin makes mounting optics a lot easier.
