  1. That is what makes me proud to be a Tennessean.

    ...

Not really any different than what MS does with the Surface.
  3. Thanks for the heads-up. They also have a pretty good deal on a Tipton vise - Tipton Best Gun Vise
  4. Tennessee Valley Muzzleloader would be my first choice. I have always bought percussion kits, but want to do a flintlock build next.
  5. I found this - http://www.adamsknifeworks.com/store/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=stoner&search_in_description=1
  6. I have been to several Dickson shows over the years, and most are small but you can find sometimes find a cool item or two. Some of the most unique guns in my collection came from Dickson shows.
  7. Thanks. I'll pull the trigger.
  8. Has anyone tried one of their softside coolers? I am thinking about ordering one of the 20 can model.

    Cubs!

I watched a little of it. Pretty cool I am not a fan of either team, but it was a cool series to watch.
  10. ^^^ This. Dale Hollow is a hidden gem, and just an hour and half outside of Nashville. Monteagle/Sewanee area is also a great place for a "weekend away".

bersaguy, Thank you for sharing that story. My wife had some health issues last year, and I was fighting back tears as I read your post.
  12. Is the Shriner show cancelled? It still shows up on the Great American site, but not the shrine calendar or other websites.
  13. ^^^This. Just look at East Nashville. People paid crazy prices for houses a few years ago, and effective law enforcement could have completely changed the neighborhood, but Metro let the thugs keep their stronghold in the name of gentrification.
  14. I have been in a couple of Gander Mountains in the past, and was never impressed. I went into the one in Mount Juliet yesterday, and they had some great sales on a few items I needed. The normal prices were high, but deep discounts on sale merchandise. Personally, I find Cabela's store labels to be a little higher quality than BPS or GM.
  15. The last Shriner's show I went to was pretty good, but it has been several years.
  16. I have an Accura LR Nitride, and have been pleased. I bought it last year, and wasn't able to get out in the field much, but it seems to be a tack-driver at the range. I chose the CVA over the T/C only because of the Bergara barrel.
  17. I have had a few transactions with Steve, and he is top notch to deal with! Highly recommend.
  18. That looks like a really cool project and well done so far. From what I can tell from the pictures, you are lucky there wasn't more mechanical damage to the metal parts from the fire. I have a couple of similar projects in the past that I wish I had documented like you have.
  19. I have several customers in that general area, and I haven't either.
  20. I am in Birmingham every couple of weeks, I guess I will have to check out the Hoover location. There is a store called Woods and Water in Tuscaloosa, AL that is awesome.
  21. Pending details, count me in.
  22. I just pulled my bow out yesterday. Normally I will start in early August and shoot a few arrows every day, but just couldn't get to it this year.
  23. If you purchase multiple handguns at once, from the same FFL, within a 5 day period, the FFL has to report the purchase. A similar rule applies to certain rifle purchases (over .22 cal with detachable mags), in four states. OhShoot detailed the TICS limitations and the 4473 requirements. I have made a couple of multi handgun purchases over the years, and so far there aren't black helicopters circling the house.

    Jury Duty

I am in my early 40's, and have been called 7 times in two different counties. My wife has only been called once for Grand Jury, and got out of it. It can be painful, depending on what is going on at work, but I am glad to do my civic duty. The jury coordinators do a really good job in my experience, and it usually just takes 2-3 days of the two week commitment.
  25. Spreading sand on your yard will help keep they out. I guess they just don't like slithering through it.
