  1. This is very well stated
  2. Word is that it came out of the Senate (sorry JayC), so there are a couple of highly likely candidates.
  3. It is a little bit of a drive, but you may want to check with the Dickson Sportsman Store. IIRC, they generally stock them.
  4. I don't believe that is correct. I think the ban applies only to the urban services district, and the general services district at night. I have hunted several different places in Davidson County, and never had an issue.I do believe that Brentwood has a ban inside the city limits, but I have never really looked into it. Seems like Cal Turner got in a little trouble a few years ago for having a dove hunt in the city limits.
  5. If you hunt around a little, you can find decent pricing on bulk ammo, but it is likely corrosive. Not a big deal, but make sure you properly clean after a session. Hornady makes the 9x18 Critical Defense, and it is only a couple dollars more than 9x19.

    FNX .40?

I have a friend that just picked up a FNX9 a few weeks ago, and is so far really impressed. i don't have any trigger time on one, but they feel good in the hand, especially with the less aggressive grip panel.
  7. I am not an attorney, but this is my understanding as well. Tennessee's Castle Law only protects you from criminal liability, not civil action.

    Glock AR

Double secret probationary Safe Action. If you can't do it yourself, it will proactively shoot you in the a$$.
  9. Thanks for the reminder. I almost forgot to submit mine.
  10. I would say you are trending in the right direction. When you start trading Sigs for carbon offsets, then you have an issue.
  11. What is the harm in trying?
  12. I agree with this statement 100%. As was stated before, I don't really have a problem with the drug interdiction programs. We need to get that crap off the streets, and I am all for the profits being used to offset cost of government. I do think they have gotten away from the original intent of the program (especially when conducting operations outside of their judicial district), but this program has probably done more to promote inter-agency cooperation than any other. It seems a little disingenuous to have the man-power to loan to this type of program, when you can't send an officer out to investigate a felony theft. It is all about priorities, and I don't necessarily agree with where some departments set them these days. Just my humble opinion.

    KHAR PM9

Like I stated, the differences shouldn't be a big deal, but they are differences.I owned a CW9 before I settled on the PM9. The poly rifling does make a performance difference (about 80fps on the chrono), even with the shorter barrel. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. I don't have any hand's on experience with the CM9, but it looks like it uses the same sights as the CW9. If that is the case, you can purchase night sights from Kahr. On my PM9, I have Novak two-dot rears, and a tritium front. For me, this is the ideal setup.

    KHAR PM9

While in most ways this is correct, there are some significant differences in the two.

    KHAR PM9

That depends on the pocket. I can get away with back pocket carry in most jeans, and side pocket in cargo shorts or pants. It is a little to large for front pocket carry, at least for me. i prefer IWB, but will occasionally pocket carry, if the situation demands. They have a neat little holster on the Kahr website that I use, and the DeSantis work well also.
  16. Do you have the tactical with the dovetailed front sight? The standard model (staked front) uses a narrow front tenon and standard Colt dovetail on the rear, IIRC.
  17. That's funny
  18. It has been a few years since I have looked, but I believe that TLETA does not admit students that are not sponsored by a department. The one exception was students actively seeking a degree in Criminal Justice, IIRC.

    1911's

I have had some issues with the Chip McCormick magazines with another 1911, but they seem to run fine in the Kimber. Never had any issues with Wilson's, and they are generally what I carry

    1911's

I haven't been there, but Berkshire Hardware is supposed to stock RIAs. Most shops have them from time to time. The grips on the commander and full-size should be the same. In my experience, most shooters can get a 1911 to fit just right by changing the trigger (long, short) and the thickness of the grip panels.

    1911's

I have a Kimber Crimson Carry II with night sights. It is a great carry package. The best advise I can offer is to stay away from the Kimber mags, and stick with Chip McCormick or Wilson. Mine also has a little trouble feeding Gold-Dots reliably, but has no issues with Hornady Critical Defense or FMJ.
  22. Bad dog! My wife hates it when they follow me home. Great pickup, and enjoy.

    New toy....SR1911

You went to G&L Hendersonville, didn't you?
  24. I am a little removed from Dickson these days, but still find it hard to believe. I grew up around Andy, and knew Dr. Bill well.
  25. This is not a true statement in Nashville anymore.
