  1. We tried to have my grandfather's WWII Marine Corp medals reissued a few years ago, and his records were destroyed.
  2. I sold a Remington .308 Mountain Rifle several years ago, and I wish I had that one back. Otherwise, I haven't had any remorse from my sales or trades.
  3. That is a sweet setup. I have always wanted to build a dedicated turkey gun.
  4. You have to go to one of the monthly meetings to get on the list. I have been out there twice as a guest of a member, and it is a pretty nice range. I just haven't been able to attend a meeting to get on the list. I think the longest range I saw was 100-125ydrs, but I could be wrong. We were shooting pistols, so I didn't pay that much attention.
  5. You will really enjoy the Tomek. I have a T-7 that is several years old, and a fantastic machine.
  6. The 87-III and 87-V are the meters to have. I have 189, and it has been nothing but a headache.
  7. I bought a camo soft side 20 a few months ago, and it is a great little cooler. Keeps ice well for a soft side, and fits perfectly between the console and rear seat of my truck. Highly recommend.
  8. Nissan brought a lot of Californians to the area, but you see a lot of New York and Illinois plates around the area now. It is really just certain districts in Nashville, and you can take a look at the state legislative map the tell where they are.
  9. There are some areas of Nashville that are the same I go to Chicago a couple of times a year. Southwest has a direct flight to Midway, and if you book early it is fairly cheap. Middle TN weather runs the gamut. We usually have 2-3 weeks of really hot summer, 2-3 weeks of cold in the winter. How tolerable depends on the humidity at the time. The worst weather we get is the occasional tornado/severe thunderstorm. If we get snow, there is usually ice beneath it, so driving is tricky and people are idiots.
  10. I would strongly disagree with this this statement, and I say this as someone very familiar with both NRA operations and lobbying in general. They do a pretty good job with passive pressure and marketing their accomplishments to their members, but within the halls they do as much harm as they do good.
  11. I have lost a couple of pocket knives at events that I wasn't expecting metal detectors or wanding, but I am really careful with flying. I have separate suitcases and computer bag that I only use for air travel.
  12. Never owned a Taurus or Keltec, but have had just about every other single stack 9mm on the market. I carried a Kahr PM9 and MK9 for years. Switched to a Shield a couple of years ago, have a Glock 43 that I just picked up. All have been ultra reliable, and wouldn't hesitate to carry any of them.

    9mm 1911

Colt, Springfield, Rock Island, etal make offerings in 9mm below the $1k price point. Personally, I would look at the Springfield Range Officer.
  14. The website shows the estimated ship dates - Steel Shotgun – Ships May, 2017 Brass Shotgun – Ships July, 2017
  15. I own both, and they are great shooters. Personally, the 45c is a little more comfortable to shoot and I am a little more accurate with it. i also think the 45c is a little more comfortable to carry.
  16. NRA isn't really active at the state level. I have heard a few rumors, but you probably won't know what bills will actually drop until the filing deadline.
  17. Sorry for your loss
  18. I received mine yesterday, so it is on it's maiden voyage this morning. 3 1/2 hours in, and my coffee is still warm. David, you didn't need to include the extra goodies, but they are appreciated.
  19. Personally, I would love to see a new run of Pythons and Anacondas. It should drive down the current aftermarket prices. I have a couple in the safe, but this could create a great buying opportunity.
  20. Seems like the last 3 years of my IT career have been jumping from one crisis to another. I feel your pain and hope for better days ahead.
  21. I would call a local sawmill and see what they would charge to cut them up for you. If you trim the branches so that they are easy to buck out, it shouldn't cost too much to have them milled.
  22. I haven't found any. Two stores told me that they sold their last bottle a few minutes before I walked in.
  23. I only have one modern handgun that I have bought, sold, and bought again. That was a Glock 30. Honestly, I think I was right the first go round and will probably sell the one I have now. Great handgun, but just too bulky to carry for me. However, there have been a number of guns that I sold in my younger days that I wish I had back, and nearly all of them either I can't find or can't find at a price that I am willing to pay. I won't sell family guns, unless it is to another family member that I know will respect the bond.
  24. I checked into this for my father-in-law a couple of years ago, and was told two different things at the Davidson County Clerks office. One person told me that all you needed were a couple of utility bills (water, power, gas) that were in the name of the person trying to register the vehicle and that showed the same as address. Another told me that the Tennessee property had to be your primary residence, unless the vehicle was registered under a trust or business. My FnL's health declined, to the point he couldn't drive, before I had to pursue it any further, so I am not sure who was correct. My guess is that it will depend on which county you are in, and whose line you get in at the clerk's office.
