A few months ago there was a minority partner, with experience in the business. That party backed out because of the direction the operation was headed. I only heard one side of the story, so please don't think that I am trying to speak ill of anyone. I was just really excited when I first heard about the project and who was involved. Now I am less enthused. At the end of the day, I hope it works out and we get a first class facility.

I was really excited a few months ago when I first heard about this, but am not crazy about the recent developments.

Sorry to hear about your struggles with Diamondback. My wife and I both have one, and have not had any significant issues. Mine didn't like Hornady Critical Defense, but runs fine on DPX. Like you, I don't shoot it a lot, but run a mag through each time I go to the range just to ensure reliability. Critical Defense runs fine in my wife's. I am not a fan of .380, so I don't carry mine often. Just when I need something I can stick in a pocket (with a pocket holster) and go. Hope they get it straightened out for you.

Boy, I haven't thought about this in years. I completed all of the requirements, but was never awarded. I need to check on that. I was OA as well.

Normally, I would agree, but there a lot of difference in the ergonomics and feature placement from a FM to the new bodies. I would try both and see which feels better, and which controls are easier to reach. Since your in Nashville, I would try Dury's (on Ewing Ave), or maybe the Wolf on West End (which used to be their pro store, but I haven't been in there in years). They should have most of the models available for you to try out. I would rule out Sony either. They are the old Minolta product line.

Plumbing problems are the worst. Mine tend to happen about 10 minutes before Lowe's closes, and I am 15 minutes away.

That is a good clean looking build. Congrats.

I am sure he will forgive you. Ted Kennedy made the same connection, I mean mistake.

That is what I am hoping. From the material available, it looks like Ruger did their homework on this one.

I should be picking one up tomorrow. I have had a few other takedown 22s in the past, and most have been disappointing. The AR7 and Marlin Papoose, were the most useful, but not nearly accurate enough for my liking.

AO knives legal in Nashville - Franklin area?
quietguy replied to a topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I have asked several LEOs this, and the overwhelming response is pretty much the same. If you touch the blade to open the knife (and the blade is under 4"), then it is legal. If you push a button, slide a lever, etc to open the blade, then it falls under the "switchblade" statute. -

It is pretty hard to beat the 10/22 as a platform to build a target gun. Out of the box accuracy for standard model is nothing to write home about, but you can build a tack-driver in your budget. Personally, I would start with the stainless target model, and tweak from there. If you were asking about a bolt gun, the CZ 452 and heavy barrel Savages are fantastic out of the box.

Virago is a great place, but I never really think of them for sushi.

Koto used to be my favorite, but they were slipping before they moved and it hasn't gotten any better. Ken's is pretty good. Fujiyama is probably the best I have had recently. It is reasonably priced (as sushi goes) and very good. Sushi is very subjective in my experience, so I wouldn't rule many places out. Kobe and Goten are the only places I would caution you against. They are just too expensive for what you get. Nothing wrong with the food, but not worth the premium in my opinion.

You are probably right David. I never really studied the source.

I know they have gotten blasted on the forum occasionally, but I have always had great interactions with them in person. Reasonable prices, great service, and a willingness to spend the time to make sure you get what you need.

Would banning umbrellas end rain?

NP, I should have posted the supporting specs in my original response to support my conclusion.

I was just commenting on the disparity of the offerings. The XD9sc is 13+1, the XD40sc is 9+1. The Glock 26 is 10+1 and the Glock 27 is 9+1. The Glock subcompacts are slightly smaller than the XDs, but it is minimal. My comments weren't intended to support the capabilities of a specific caliber, but just to note the differences in the "firepower" of each manufacturer's offering. If you prefer 9mm, the XD gives you several more rounds in a marginally larger package. If you prefer 40S&W, then Glock gives you the same number of rounds in a slightly smaller package.

Well, I really don't have a problem with the existence of these programs, but have huge issues with the way they are administered. The intent is that they are a "hand-up", not a way of life. I am all for helping folks out of a bad situation. I believe that the larger issue is that of money management. I have done a little volunteer work for our church to help repair the homes of those supposedly in need. It is really frustrating to spend a weekend giving of your time to repair the home of someone who has a newer car and larger TV than you do. We spend a tremendous amount of money each year to educate the youth of America, and little attention is paid to the topics that really meet the intended outcome of an "educated populace". Just a shame that basic civics and fiscal responsibility are not part of the core competency requirements. I believe that those receiving public assistance should be required to attend some type of financial management course.

To the OP, this was a good comparison. I am sure that we can all think of a couple that we would like to have added, but such is life. I really like the G27, I think the G26 comes up short compared to the XD9sc. The XD is 13+1 in a very similar sized package, compared to the 10+1 of the Glock. When you switch to the .40, the advantage swings to the Glock.

You might want to call Nashville Sporting Arms. They are a stocking dealer, and he had several on the wall last time I was in.

I have one of their piston guns, and am pretty impressed so far. The receivers are mil-spec. Overall, I would call it a mid-range build. Fit and finish is better than most similarly priced guns. Some of the parts are run of the mill - it looks like they just use a CMMG lower parts kit. Some are excellent - Poly barrels and a great charging handle. The piston system appears to be Adams Arms.
