Seems like I have heard that before, but I have one that is probably nearing a 35k round count that is still going strong and accurate. I have changed the locking block twice, and I think the recoil springs have been replaced three times. If you were using NATO spec ammo, it might accelerate the wear. This is just a guess, but only about 5k of the rounds through mine were NATO spec or +P.
  2. That is not the case at all. They were trying to get it to the floor to force the Republicans to vote against it.

Technically an alloy, but close enough.
  4. I think they do still work. She seems to fill a page with excrement a couple of times a week.
  5. There are always options. You can have the slide milled to take a staked or dovetailed sight. One word of caution is that Beretta doesn't give you a lot of material to work with. You can also have the factory front sight drilled to accept a tritium vial or bead.
  6. Kahr has a Glock type replacement sight for the CW9. It isn't designed to be staked. Also check you Beretta to make sure that it is staked. Most I have seen are milled as part of the slide, not staked.
  7. I agree 100%. If it is someone at the door that you need to open it for, they wouldn't cover the peep hole, and they would announce themselves. Given the reported circumstances, it sure looks like a "hole-up and prepare a defense" scenario, vs a "lets just unlock the door and see who comes in" scenario.
  8. The Cheatham TWRA range isn't very far away.
  9. We are pretty much the same way. I love kids, but am probably a little paranoid around them. My wife and I have a "child-proofing" routine every time a friend brings a kid over, or if a niece or nephew comes to stay for a couple of days. Firearms are easy to secure, it is the household cleaners, electrical outlets, etc that I worry about. There isn't a lot that I couldn't handle emotionally, but a kid getting hurt in my house would be tough to deal with.
  10. If I were in your shoes, I would just have a frank conversation with your father Explain that you are teaching his grandchildren responsible firearms handling, and for you that means loaded guns are secured at all times. My dad would be fine with that, but I can't speak for yours.
  11. Well, it might not be a bad idea to find a "S&W Authorized" shop that can order factory parts should you need them. I am tinkering with a few Apex parts on my 9c, and have been very impressed so far.
  12. What are you looking for? Apex offers their famous trigger kits.
  13. The case is roughly 23"x7"x4" for the main compartments. It is a little small to hold a broken down AR, in my opinion.
  14. BTW, is that CeraKote?
  15. The grips on the Kimber Tac Pro are the thing that I am not crazy about. I think the 442 is kinda cool. Might look better if everything but the cylinder and grips were green, but that's just my humble opinion (which my wife keeps reminding me is worthless).
  16. Well, you can assume that Reuter's selected their sample demographic as narrowly as possible to support their position. Given that, I would say this is great news for the 2nd Amendment.
  17. I think Troy makes a gas-block height sight also. I don't think you can go wrong with either the MI or Troy.
  18. Guns and Leather in Greenbrier would be my first choice, and have a great gunsmith. I would call first to make sure they have the sights you are looking for. Franklin also has a good selection of sights and a in-house smith.
  19. I think I get what you are asking, but have to completely agree with what others have said. You are asking for a manual for questions that only experience can provide. A shotgun isn't a precision tool that you can say this load and this choke are good from x yards to y yards. And getting a good range on small, fast moving targets is even harder. You just really have to get a feel for it. Does your 20" barrel have interchangeable chokes, or is it cylinder bore, or is it rifled?
  20. I hate to hear about your bad luck. For something like that, I would probably fight it. If you weren't speeding and there was an foreign object in the road, I can't see why they cited you. If the branch is still there, you may want to go grab a quick picture. It would be better if the office noted it in his report.
  21. That is a little more politically correct option.
  22. Threeeighty has his paycheck bet that you will trade the arsenal for something in a Hello Kitty theme.
  23. We need to have a little pool going to see what your next avatar image is going to be.
  24. I think the Stag's are pretty good deals. Most that I have seen are a little better fitted than the other similarly priced alternatives.
