  1. I agree with you, but also understand how it smells like censorship. I agree that the guy brought himself into the spotlight and is accountable for his actions, but but he did it by making a movie. If we were dealing with rational people, the reaction would have been no worse than the release of the Passion of the Christ. If anything, I believe that this has uncovered just how unstable the Muslim population is. To blame this guy for the loss of human life is no different that blaming a gun for the actions of its wielder.
  2. While I agree to a point, but you have put the comments in the overall context of history. Remember that they were a reaction to comments made by a New York mayor, in who's grand tradition mayor Bloomberg now operates.
  3. While I try to avoid it, I do have to wear a suit on occasion. I had two custom tailored to meet my carry needs. For my "standard" getup, I went to the Green Hills location of Men's Wearhouse. They were more than willing to setup a discrete fitting. I wanted to be able to carry in a shoulder holster, right side at the 3:00 to 4:00 position OWB, or pocket carry. I knew I was asking a lot, and paid a bit of premium, but am extremely happy with the results. They even gave me a little tab in the pocket that lets a DeSantis Nemesis catch a little more easily. I also have a "nice" Brooks Brothers suit that I had fitted around a Crossbreed ST for a 1911 Commander. They were a little harder to deal with, but did a great job with the finished product. One piece of advice that I would give you, buy and extra pair of pants. The fabrics used in a quality suit just don't hold up as well as mounting and dismounting a holster.
  4. You may want to check out Bellshire Hardware. They usually have a great selection of Rock Island's.
  5. Congrats on the new ride
  6. One has to be careful about the funeral home they select.
  7. Interesting that you mention the "Union". That is another huge misconception in our country. So many seem to forget that the Federal government should only have the powers that the States grant it.
  8. One has to break out of their comfort zone every now and then.
  9. This ^ One thing that you want to keep in mind is that digital recording is based on a sampling over a specific time period. You may have issues getting accurate results when trying to obtain quantifiable data. Extremely loud sounds of a very short duration are hard to capture.
  10. Would that be jacked-up AR uppers?
  11. First, the Peachtree area is pretty much all of Atlanta. Kinda like being on OHB or Harding in Nashville. The Atlanta area has some of the coolest local businesses. My personal favorite is Highland Woodworking, but as MacGyver mentioned, a Varsity chili dog is pretty hard to beat (and as a Reds fan, it hurts to recommend anything but a Skyline dog).
  12. Is that your reverse coat-tails theory?
  13. I am not buying it. I think that Mike Turner checked the wrong box on the form .
  14. I do consider your aversion to the 1911 a character flaw.
  15. I have had a number of 1911s over the years, in a number of different variants. Personally, the Smith & Wesson SW1911PD and Springfield Range Officer are my favorites, when I look at all factors. Both are extremely well put together and utterly reliable, and relatively inexpensive. Can't go wrong here. I have also had good luck with Chip McCormick mags, but WC is tops.
  16. It wouldn't be an election in Shelby County unless the dead rose to cast their ballots.
  17. I agree 100%. I really think this election is about who stays home. All Romney should have to do is exploit Obama's record. Just the fact that Guantanamo is still open should keep a large portion of O voters home.
  18. More proof that we need a poll test
  19. You still have to observe all of the other regulations , but suppressors are legal. Just make sure you keep your stamp on you. Essentially, you have a super sneaky squirrel gun.
  20. We usually stay on the other side of Destin (around the Santa Rosa beach area). There are a ton of great eateries in the area. McQuire's, The Back Porch, Red Bar (Grayton Beach), Bud and Alleys (Seaside), and the Donut Hole are all great places to strap on the feed bag.
  21. I understand and appreciate your position, but I do feel like it is symbolic of a greater disrespect of the flag that you fought for, and is emblematic (pun intended) of the lack of respect that this man has for the office he holds. Were this just some third-party putting out a t-shirt or flag for sale, that would be one thing, but these are carefully chosen products on the candidate's official site.
  22. Well, this is symbolic of a whole lot of what is wrong with this country. We have lost focus on real results, and it is more about spin and marketing (sorry to any marketing professionals out there). There shouldn't be a card-carrying democrat that would vote to re-elect this clown, but here we are. Just look at the stock market, you can't invest in a well-managed, profitable company and make money. Now, it is more about buzz and fluff than real results.
  23. I think I would have to buy all of the chickens that I could afford, and turn them loose on City Hall.
  24. It varies greatly depending on your location.
