  1. Yet another place where SHMBO reigns supreme.
  2. The only downside is that I need two subs for my setup (one LFE, one low-pass for the front channels).
  3. While I prefer a lever gun without a safety, the Rossi setup doesn't really impact performance like the Winchester cross-bolt can. I have both, and wouldn't shy away from a good deal on the Rossi with the safety.
  4. I bought one of the original Polk 5-channel soundbars, but it is just a speaker array (still requires a reciever/amp). I wasn't particularly happy with the setup, until I ran the front channels through a dedicated sub to get better dynamic range.
  5. Pretty easy. They consider themselves the intellectual elite, and are above the rules that govern the common citizen.
  6. Anybody else find it ironic that for their assault on high-achievers, that they pick "the Boss" to be the face of the campaign?
  7. Another example of why we need a poll test
  8. Agreed. Trust your ears.
  9. From your description, they probably have a bedding area close by and probably on your property. In your shoes, I would hunt the best trail in the wood-line that led to the wheat field on your neighbors property, late in the day. You will have to be extremely careful getting to your stand, and I would setup something fixed that I could get in with minimal noise. Where is the closest water source?
  10. I am 6'2" and about 190lbs. I have a hard time with pocket carry. As OS stated, cargo shorts are fine, dress pants are ok, but anything else is a no go for me. I prefer to carry IWB, but like to have a pocket carry option.
  11. Can you give us a better idea of your property setup? Are you hunting a bedding area, food source, or just a trail? I understand that you have feeder there, but how active is it? Dave is probably right, but a little additional info could help us provide advice.
  12. That isn't vignetting.
  13. Then it sounds like you are pretty well setup. For a cool project, you may want to try working with some of the ceramic blanks that you can pickup for most Woodcraft stores. They make great kitchen knives.
  14. Nice. I really like the look of the slab-sides that S&W is doing now.
  15. I have pretty much the same setup, but with the black slide and night sights. IMHO, it is probably the best concealed carry setup available today. Crossbreed makes a mini-tuck specifically for that setup. Also, DeSantis makes a Nemesis for PM9 with CT.
  16. A bandsaw really helps in rough shaping your blanks. I coping saw will work, but not as well. Also, check out the Microplanes. They work well, and don't load like files.
  17. The BPS is one of those guns that I would love to embrace. I grew up shooting a Remington 870, and just can't make the switch. Probably not a better looking pump shotty on the market than the BPS. Does your BPS have the interchangable chokes? Don't buy into what you read online, as it can be misleading. Most modern shotgun powders burn within 15" to 18"s, so pattern and velocity won't be significantly impacted by barrel length. For me, a longer barrel helps with swing for clays and hunting doves. Most duck and turkey hunters would do just as well with a 22" or 24" barrel.
  18. Now that is funny
  19. It has been years since I hunted LBL, but the best advice I can give is - get in early, and take a orange vest or hat with you. That way you can signal the idiot just walking in at 8:30 that you are there. I hate public deer hunts . Occasionally the fools will run a deer right to you, but more likely they will run one off.
  20. I got a pretty good doe late yesterday.
  21. If you go this route, but very careful about the language of the policy.
  22. In good condition, it is probably worth between $600 and $800. Just guessing at the current condition, but it is probably a $200 gun. Poke around on GunBroker and that will give you a little better idea.
  23. It really depends on the work involved. If you are just taking the parts to be blued, it probably won't be that expensive. If you take an assembled gun in to be refinished, it will be considerably higher.
  24. I have been channel surfing to try to get a little better idea of how it was perceived on all sides. The consensus on the left is that it is Jim Lehrer's fault that Obama got his tail kicked. Finally we have found something that they don't blame on Bush.
  25. Really need to know the model. The made/make the SA22 and used to make a BAR22. Would need to know which model to even begin estimating a price. Most likely it is a SA22, but you never know.
