1. If I pocket carry, it is usually a J-frame in a Desantis Nemesis.
 2. This ^ The flag that has caused so much uproar was never the flag of the Confederacy. There were a couple of close examples (Army of Northern Virginia, Army of Tennessee), but only the flag of the second Confederate Navy really embodies what is so reviled today.
 3. I hope you find a good home for him.  I can barely keep up with the three rescues we already have, but that is a cute little guy.
 4. There was a guy in that area that sold a bunch of "NIB" unfired Colts a few years ago.  I bought a late 70's Detective Special from him.  If I had to guess, that was the source.  There was a 4" nickel Python and 6" blued Python in his collection, but I wouldn't pay his prices.
 5. It is 90 proof.  The flavor is hard to describe.     There are a couple of places around Nashville that serve it, included the BBQ joint by the same name.  The ribs are much better than the bourbon.
 6. That stuff if pretty rough!
 7. Personally, I am not crazy about the stippling but don't begrudge those that like it.  I swap the sights on my carry Glocks, but otherwise leave them be.
 8. I am going to have to try one of those.  I have never been crazy about the offerings from Fenix, 4sevens, etc when it came to the AA and AAA lights.
 9. Based on your original posts door width and height requirements, I would use roll-ups.
 10. I would stay away from concrete paints, unless they have improved greatly in the last few years.     I used an epoxy on my shop, and my only complaint is that is getting pretty worn where I move my larger machinery around.  I used a light grey color, with white flecks.  It really helps disperse the lighting.     I wish I had done like tacops suggested and used dry erase panels on my walls.  I used it in my cabinet doors and drawer fronts, and it great.  As mentioned earlier, easy to clean and very handy for labeling and notes.  I made door pulls that double as marker holders, so I always have one close by.
 11. I meant to mention 312.  Pretty good pie, and a great place to meet before a Sounds game.
 12. In addition to others -   Castrillo's is one of my favorites Roma's has my favorite white pizza Coco's   Little Chicago is the best "Chicago Style" I have found.
 13.
f/22 or f/30-something means nothing to me. I never shoot anything with an aperture smaller than f/14 or so anyway.
If that range serves your needs, then fantastic. F/32 or F/64 is extremely helpful if shooting professionally.
 14.
Did you mean f/22 is a limiting MINIMUM aperture?
Yes, and thank you for pointing out my mis-post.
When you said, "On a DX body, a 35mm is closer a prime lens, not a 50mm" I thought you were telling the OP to get a 35 mm prime rather than get a 50 mm prime. So I said "depends on the range you need."
And that was my intent. A 50mm lens on a DX body is essentially a 75mm telephoto, which is no longer a prime lens in the classical definition. 50mm at 35mm or FX is a classical prime lens. That equates to roughly a 35mm lens at DX format or 80mm at 6 cmx6 cm.
 15.
None of which helps Flatwoods.
Not to take the OPs thread into the weeds, but it could help Flatwoods. There are finite rules to good photography. Those that have a bent for art can break the rules, those of us that don't have to live by them.
 16.
Unfortuantely we are going to see our economy collapse from his policies. For everyone who hates big business and the millionaires they are the ones who create jobs, not the government. Governement, now, is only there to take away from those who work hard so those who don't work hard can live better than they should.
Dow is down nearly 300 points day one. Welcome to the Socialist revolution.
 17.
Kennedy said he would already have retired and was postponing it till after this election, hoping for a GOP victory, so I expect him to give it up anytime. - OS
I may be mistaken, but didn't he state that he wouldn't retire under Oblamo?
 18.
Depends on the range you need.
No, it doesn't. A "prime lens" is a distinction relative to film or sensor size.
When I first read about the Canon 50 f/1.8, it was regarded as the "puppy lens" or "kitten lens" since the aperture allowed for a lot of creativity in taking pet portraits. It was never hailed to be "fast glass" though that aperture does help tremendously in low light. It depends on your use/need. Most beginners or hobbyists will find the depth of field of that particular lens to be its strength while pros shooting with f/2.8 lenses are primarily after the fast shutter speed those allow.
First, let me state that I am a huge fan of fast lenses. The Canon 50mm f/1.8 is a fantastic lens, but you have to have a basic understanding of photography and optics. The f/22 is a fairly limiting maximum aperture, and therefore limited depth of field.
 19.
I really do respect your opinion, but I seriously don't understand how anyone can be enthusiastic about Obama.
I have to agree. Even hard-core Dems should have been extremely disappointed in his performance if they were an objective lot
 20. That is the great thing about this country, you are entitled to voice your opinion, no matter how short-sighted or asinine it may be. That is, until your man completely undermines the Constitution.
 21. My advice, take a basic photography class. You can have fantastic results with sub-par equipment if you know how to use it. Anyone can learn to be a decent photographer if they are willing to put in the time and understand the basic concepts. A little knowledge goes a long way.
 22.
This...and a 50mm f1.8 prime lens. Should do nicely for this type of photography. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
On a DX body, a 35mm is closer a prime lens, not a 50mm.
Gotta love the depth of field from the f/1.8 lenses! I recommend buying from B&H Photo or Adorama in NY. Excellent prices and customer service.
DOF is the weak point of a fast lens, not the strength.
 23.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a bingo.
Most likely, Ginsberg and Beyer will be the first to retire. No real danger there.
 24.
Mine had the dreaded squeak, but after a few tries I fixed it with some felt behind the belt clips.
I had one that did the same thing, and I moly coated the back of the clips and it seems to have taken care of the issue.
 25. Do a quick search, and you will find this question asked often. Personally, I prefer a Crossbreed Supertuck or Comp-Tac Minatour.
